I was wondering which rides would be ok for a 2 year old at all the parks? Any input greatly appreciated.null

Welcome to DIS knoxt!

I think you'll find that most of the Disney rides are okay for a 2yo. There are some noise issues and other things such as darker rides that you may want to consider based on your child's temperment. For height restrictions look on the home page under theme parks for a link to the restrictions page. Most of the bigger coasters and things like that won't work but you can use the baby swap to ride those individually without baby.

I don't care for rides like Space and Splash Mountain so for our family, it was easy to split up. While DH, DD11 and DS5 went on rides like that, my DS2 and I hung out together. He absolutely loved Peter Pan at the MK, also Small World, the Lion King at MK, Buzz, boat rides in Mexico and Norway, Lion King at AK, the playground at MGM, Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast. He did not like Dumbo because he was afraid of the height and he was a little afraid on the Pooh ride in the Heffalumps room. He liked interacting with characters, who were very good with him, getting down to his level and giving him hugs. The only character he didn't like was Cinderella! She was so soft spoken and gentle and squatted down and held out her hands but he wanted no part of her. Very funny.

He also liked things like the train in Germany, the water spouts in Epcot, and the dancing fountains in Epcot. He would not go into Ice Station Cool - the mist at the doorway scared him.

Some things, like Honey I shrunk and Cranium Command I know went way over his head but he sat still anyway. At the 3D movies, he wouldn't wear his glasses.

Another great place for a 2 year old is the area that has the big aquarium at Epcot. My dd could spend half a day in there if we let her.

There are so many things to keep your two yr old busy. My little one loves Bear in the Big Blue House at MGM. Peter Pan, Donalds house, the tea cups, Dumbo, Buzz Lightyear, and of course It's a small world, all at MK; and Food Rocks in the Land at EPCOT. There's alot more too. Hope you have a great time.

Just be careful not to force your 2 yeara old to interact with the characters. I have seen many a screaming child scared to death of Mickey and company. This can ruin the day.

Our daughter was scared until she was about 4, then she slowly learned to enjoy the characters, and still does.

At 2 years old our son was still scared of the characters. Wanted to watch from arms length back but didn't want pictures taken with them. Was okay when we held him.

As far as the rides there are several:

MK: Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, TeaCups, Toon Town area was great. He was sorta scared in Snow White and Toads Wild Ride. At 2.5 he loved them so it depends. He also like the Jungle cruise, the Tiki Room and Country Bear Jamboree.

MGM: Loved Bear in the Big Blue House. Scared of the Mermaid attraction. Indiana Jones had too many booms in it for him. The Lion King show was too slow and he got bored. He enjoyed Tarzan Rocks - couldn't figure that one out. The show with Beauty and the Beast was okay for a little bit but then he was ready to go.

EPCOT: Was bored in the World ShowCase. Like figment, the Living Seas. We didn't attempt the Land as it is too long of a boat ride. Honey I shrunk the audience we didn't do so can't offer an opinion there.

AK: Loved the Safari. The trail was nice but very slow at the beginning. We didn't do much else here.

Hope that helps. There is lots of stuff to do at the Parks even with a 2 year old. We kept busy and were tired at the end of the day.

When my son was 2 he liked:wdw railroad*enchanted tiki room*jungle cruise*pirates of caribbean*peter pan*carousel*dumbo*snow white*winnie the pooh*mad tea party*tomorrowland speedway*buzz lightyear and finally,(phew!) the tomorrowland transit authority. We spent most of our time in MK but he did also enjoy a couple of rides at epcot, mgm and AK
