Currently on the Disney Wonder and had to report about a GREAT entertainer.
His name is Mike Super and my ENTIRE family loved him. This is our second cruise and I do have to say we've always liked the entertainers, but this guy is a TOP NOTCH! Funny, amazing, and down to earth...We've seen David Coperfield and I have to say, this guy is better! But he wasn't on our last cruise.?.

We want to plan another cruise, but want to make sure Mike is on for it... Is there a way to find out who is scheduled to entertain on future cruises? Or is this just a one time thing with him. Don't know how it works?

Has anyone else seen him?
He Made my 19 year old daughter float in mid air! No exaggeration!
I asked her about it and she had no idea how it was done... She said it felt, "weird." I know it wasn't "set up" because it was MY daughter!!!!

His adult show was amazing AND hilarious! He really freaked the audience out and got a well deserved standing Oh! No off color humor either! Needless to say I am VERY impressed... Kudos to Disney for the great entertainment! They even added a Family show for the passengers tomorrow because of demand! I'll report on that as well!

Has he done other cruises? Or did we just luck out having him here?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks and happy sailing!

Jim

He was on our double scoop cruise last week- that's all I can say. LOL We only saw him in the last show though- don't know if he was performing elsewhere on the ship at other times.
I thought he was really good too. How exactly DID he flip his hands back around like that? Twilight zone weird....

We also saw Mike Super on the Magic during our May 13th cruise, we also thought he was fabulous and funny!!! Mike did say something about being on TV later this fall, here is a link to his website:http://www.mikesuper.com/index2.htm

I guess maybe he is going back and forth between the Magic and the Wonder as he was only on our cruise for the first few days.

Yes we saw him on the 1st double scoop as Shelley has already stated, but I swear I have seen him on DCL before. His whole act with the drawing of hte card deck seemed very very familiar. But I did like him!

Call me gullible, but where the heck did that bowling ball come from????

(Yes, I know... the answer on his website is "Dick's Sporting Goods"... ha ha..)

That is hilarious because your response above is exactly WORD FOR WORD what DH said (kinda loud, I thought at the time- you know how when you say something if it gets really quiet it sounds like you're talking really loud? That's what happened right when he said that LOL) -"where the heck did that bowling ball come from"? I admonished him reminding him in a hushed voice that some people consider "heck" a curse word -especially around children. LOL (but agreed- I also wondered where the bowling ball came from)

Glad I'm not the only one still trying to figure that one out. :confused3 He's not a big guy, just where was he hiding that???

The four day cruise went sooooo fast! Caught Mike's special family show and it was wonderful!(As I suspected.) This guy is just great with both kids and adults! He has a knack for picking the perfect volunteer. He even made a wooden table float OFF the stage and around Wave bands! It was unreal! By far, Mike Super was the highlight of our cruise!

I talked to the Cruise Director and he told me Mike has been performing for Disney for several years now. He also told me that Mike will have his own TV show coming out next year! (Not suprising.)

Got pictures with Mike at dinner. I hated to bother him eating, but he was just so nice! He talked to the kids and us for about 5 minutes and let us take pictures with him. Just a great guy!

We are thinking about the Med Cruise, but would definately go if Mike was going to be on...

Anyway, it's late and we disembark tomorrow. :( Good night all!

Jim.

PS.. Thanks for the site Verandah Man! I'll definately be checking it out!

He was awesome on our June 2005 Wonder cruise. We saw him in Wavebands for an adult show and he was hilarious. He was awesome with magic to (I wonder why?) :rotfl:

Has anyone seen him on the Magic? I've been hearing a lot of "Mike Super Wonder sightings," but no Magic sightings. :tigger: :mickeyjum

This thread reminded me that during his show he said to check out his website. It's mikesuper.com btw

I know why we all like him so much, and it's not JUST the magic! On his website:
Q: Who are/were your influences?
A: In order...
Walt Disney (A True Genius!)
Doug Henning (A cutting edge magician for his time.)
David Copperfield ( A great magician AND a great book.)
Johnny Depp (He's just the coolest!)
Jerry Seinfeld (A fantastic entertainer with an unbelievable work
ethic.)

Well anyone that puts Walt Disney as his #1 influence is someone we're going to like, right? It's no wonder (get it? Wonder LOL) why he likes to do his magic on the Disney cruises. :)
And um... Johnny Depp made the list too. I knew I liked this guy. LOL

My son sooo wanted to get his autograph and we never saw him around--if you see him again tell him Sean Keller--from Clairton--needs his autograph for his 10 yr old.

Don't miss his show. I wish I could figure out even one of his illusions!!

Have a great cruise.

Anyone know if you can find out if he will be performing on a specific cruise--the Dec 26th 4 night Magic sailing?
We are hoping to see him again.

We saw him on the Magic a few weeks ago. Very, very funny & awesome magic to boot. I like 'little' magic. Forget making a car disappear, if you can do good slight of hand, I am yours (magically speaking!).
He did a trick with 3 mens rings that had the entire crowd amazed. Even at the 'adult' show he didn't get off-color or anything like that. IIRC, there were a few references to drinking & that was it.
