You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tupac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

you danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

Britney Spears before the babies.

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the red* Ranger were meant to be together.

To the last sentence you said.....hey...Tommy was the green* ranger!!!!

*later to be white

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being tommy.

You remember when super nintendo's became popular.

You remember watching Home Alone 1 and 2........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

"I've fallen and I can't get up"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow he stubbed his toe toe toe and thats the end end end of the elephants show show show

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.

"who loves orange soda? KEL loves orange soda. Is it true? I do, i do, i do--oooo."

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain woud finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

when we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy.

Before the Internet & text messaging.

Before Sidekicks & iPods.

Before MIKE JONES

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX.

WHEN LIGHT UP SNEAKERS WERE KOOL

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

bill-nye the science guy.

MR RODGERS!!!!

gulah gulah island

When Toys R Us overuled the mall.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

Your a 90's kid when you read this and smiled and laughed at least 5 of these.

I am definitely a kid of the 90s. I smiled and laughed at 90-95% of these and even if I didn't experience the other percentage, I have friends who did.
Several comments and fond memories: Slap bracelets hurt, but are fun and I still have one :). I wanted to be on Carmen Sandiego because I know (knew?) my history and geography well. I haven't mastered in line skates because I like roller skates better :). Tomagotchi, Giga pets, etc., definitely brought those to school. Then they were banned because they were distracting. If you had it in your backpack/locker during class it would die due to lack of attention. Also brought Beanie Babies to school and kids would proudly display them on their desks. I'd say more but then I'd be commenting on pretty much the entire list. popcorn::

I remmebr all of these things but only cuz my younger siblings were into it. We just sold some pogs at a yard sale! I always thought half the stuff on the list was stupid but I also graduated high scholl in 94 so maybe I didn't get it!? I did love Pinky and The brain but still watch Bugs bunny to this day with my kids. I love Boomerang channel!

Alos noticed a lot of things on the list are 80's things and you NEVER would have been caught dead doing them in the 90's. 2 examples are - You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles - which played in the 80's on tv, and the scrunched down socks - Giant no-nos in the 90's!

HallGirl
06-07-2006, 01:35 PM
I watched Care Bears and My Little Pony in the 90s. Of course, I was only 5 in 1990, so I suppose part of it is age. I do agree that scrunched down socks were a fashion no-no in the 90s. I always associate those with the 80s.

kutekiley
06-07-2006, 02:04 PM
i always liked them lol when i was seven or eight that was the only kind of socks i would wear. :rotfl:

Ok Someone just sent the following to me it is sort of the same things but a few are different:
JUST CAUSE YOU WERE BORN IN '93' OR '94' DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A 90s KID.
IT'S NOT LIKE YOU COULD REMEMBER SOME OF THE ORIGINAL SIMPSONS.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE A 90s KID IF...

YOU CAN SING THE RAP TO "THE FRESH PRINCE OF BELL AIR"

YOU'VE WORN LEGGINGS AND FELT COOL.

YOU USED TO LOVE PLAYING WITH YOUR "PUPPY IN MY POCKETS"

YOU REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY WORTH GETTING UP ON A SATURDAY MORNING TO WATCH LIVE & KICKING OR SM:TV.

YOU HAD A HUGE FRINGE AT SOME POINT IN YOUR CHILDHOOD.

YOU REMEMBER READING AND WATCHING "GOOSEBUMPS"

YOU TOOK PLASTIC CARTOON LUNCH BOXES TO SCHOOL.

YOU KNOW THE WORDS FROM THE SHAKEY JAKE MILKSHAKE ADVERTS

YOU REMEMBER THE CRAZE OF YO-YOS AND TAMAGOTCHI'S

YOU STILL GET THE URGE TO SAY "NOT" AFTER EVERY SENTENCE.
NOT.

YOU KNEW THAT KIMBERLY, THE PINK RANGER, AND TOMMY, THE GREEN RANGER WERE MEANT TO BE.

YOU COLLECTED POKEMON CARDS.

YOU PLAYED AND/OR COLLECTED POGS.

YOU HAD A WEIRD ALIEN THAT LIVED IN GOOEY STUFF IN A PLASTIC 'POD' AND THOUGHT IF YOU STUCK 2 BACK TO BACK THEY WOULD HAVE A BABY!

YOU WATCHED THE ORIGINAL POSTMAN PAT, FIREMAN SAM AND NINJA TURTLES.

YIKES PENCILS WERE THE SHIZZ!-WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?

YOU REMEMBER WHEN THE NEW BEANIE BABIES WERE ALWAYS SOLD OUT

YOU GOT YOUR MUM TO BUY 'BN' BISCUITS

YOU USED TO WEAR THOSE STICK ON EARRINGS, NOT ONLY ON YOUR EARS BUT AT THE CORNERS OF YOUR EYES.

YOU KNOW THE MACERENA BY HEART.

"TALK TO THE HAND" ENOUGH SAID.

YOU REMEMBER THE TIME BEFORE LITERACY AND NUMERACY HOUR EXISTED.

YOU THOUGHT BRAIN FROM "PINKEY AND THE BRAIN" WOULD FINALLY TAKE OVER THE WORLD.

YOU REMEMBER BUM BAGS.

YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE ON FUN HOUSE

YOU COLLECTED TAZOS.

2 WORDS, SPICE GIRLS

Gotta love those Tamagotchis!!

I still have eleven of 'em!

I remember when i was like six or seven waiting in line at some toy store for like an hour to get a tomagotchi! Is it me or in the 90's were there a lot more lines for stuff? Like at the movies and stuff, i constantly remember the movie i always wanted to see being sold out, and or having to wait in line for an hour to get a ticket. But, maybe its just me i was born in 1990, so i don't remeber that much. *MAJOR FLASHBACK*. Does anyone remember that (i think it was like a dating game show) show called "BUZZ", i think it came on like right before blossom and full house, i loved that show.!

Crave- the sugar that colored your ENTIRE mouth!

water babies

Fairy Winkles

Barbie seemed to be more popular, or maybe it was just me.. lol

"Growing Pains"

Cabbage Patch kids (or were those earlier?)

Polly in my pocket

Finger bikes and skateboards

"Snow White" in theaters, -scared me for weeks...-

Yea, the original and second Crash Bandicoot games came out in the 90's, but I think the third one came out in the 2000's. In fact... there were a lot of good series-es of games that came out back then. Spyro the Dragon (before it went the way of Vivendi Universal or whatever company is churning out the new ones), Metal Gear Solid, Tomba!, Grand Turismo, you get the idea. The 90's was a good decade(?) for video games (Anyone here played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? How about Half-Life? Yea, you know why I like the 90's in gaming.) Anyways, I remember how sad I got when my sister sabotaged my T-Rex Tamogachi by making it take a swim. And I remember waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the latest episode of whatever it was that I watched then.
