I've read a lot about transportation from LAX to DLR but we are flying into SNA due to great advice on this board. I remember reading awhile back about a flat rate for a taxi from this airport being fairly reasonable. Is this still a viable option and does anyone know how much the rate is now? We are arriving on Friday June 9th. Should I call ahead to reserve a taxi?

Thanks! We are getting excited as the days get closer to our 1st ever trip to DL and CA!!

It was around $35 one way last I took a taxi from DL to SNA. It could be a bit higher now with the increased gas prices. Shuttles are also very convenient, and a bit cheaper if there are only one or two in your party. Taxis make the most sense if there are 3 or 4 in your party.

You dont need to pre-arrange a taxi. Just go outside, and there will be a guy directing things. He'll point out which taxi is "up" next. If you decide to do super shuttle, they are right outside as well- and no need to prearrange. Just go to the area and they will tell you what shuttle number you are riding in.

Thanks CalGal and hlbtimes2 again!

There will be 4 of us so I think the taxi will work out best but it's good to know we can always change our mind at the last minute. The shuttle would end up being more, if I recall correctly.

We are picking up a car later in the trip. Is there a cheaper way for one person to get to the airport?

I just called today to verify price and was told $33 for a taxi.

Hi!

It usually is cheaper to take a shuttle. Also, consider whether a standard taxi can hold 4 people and there luggage. :sunny:
