Confused about FOTL vs. Express Line

The more I've been reading here the more I've gotten confused about this. Are FOTL and Express Line TWO different lines or one line? Can someone please explain in detail how it works? We are staying onsite one night just to get FOTL (we had considered buying Express) and I need to know what we are signing up for as we only have one day at US to conquer the park, LOL! :hourglass

FOTL is, I think, Front of the Line. This is offered if you stay "On-site" at one if Universal's beautiful hotels (Portifono Bay (PB), Hard Rock Hotel (HRH) and Royal Pacifici Resort (RPR))


Express Plus is an option avaliable to park guests to add onto their ticket price to allow them front of the line acces for each ride.

As you are a guest at an onsite resort, you room key lets you access most (practically all) rides at both parks for the duration of your stay. YOu WILL get both parks done in one day with your rook key; no need to splash out more money for the Express Plus!

The hotel FOTL, enters the same entrance as the express passes do. The difference is that with your hotel card you can ride the same ride more than once while those with the express pass plus tickets only get to use it one time for each ride and show. You will be in the same line as "express pass plus" ticket holders. I hate the term "front of the line" as you don't walk to the front of everyone in the express line. You wait in express with them. The express line is significantly shorter than the regular line and they strive to make it 15 minutes or less. But this isn't pizza delivery that carries a 15 minute guarantee or your pizza is free. Sometimes, the line may be longer than 15 minutes. Most times it will be shorter than 15 minutes.

Grrrr..... I hate the FOTL line name! I always have and always will!

Unlimited Express is a much better and much more accurate name.
