my dh is a disney nut, or so he would have others believe ;) so for fathers day id like to get him a book with some "behind the scenes" info. he had books like this when he was a kid, and he still talked about them on our recent trip. id like to get something newer, something he hasnt read before. any recommendations? any other fathers day gift ideas for the disney buff? he really wanted the dvds they have at the parks, the ones that show all of the parks and stuff. of course he didnt tell me this until after we were home :sad2: and i cant seem to find them anywhere.

I have really enjoyed reading a few biographies they have out there on Walt Disney himself. It was very interesting reading. You might try half.com or amazon.com and do various searches to see what you find about Disney behind the scenes. That's a nice Father's Day idea!

What about a book on the Hidden Mickeys? I saw one at WDW but I don't remember the name. Sorry! :guilty:

we definitely need the hidden mickey book, but i think ill save that for our next trip. that way we can go find the mickeys shortly after reading the book. though perhaps if i buy that book now it will help push him to book our next trip there... ;)

We just got a great book with lots of stories and pictures from Amazon.com.
Its called Walt Disney Imagineering (it has Sorceror Mickey on the Cover) by the Imagineers. Its has about 175 pages and shows the first drawings of Disneyland. They didn't start construction of Disneyland until about 9 months before it opened-- Its a really neat picture book that shows concept drawings and a lot of maps of different parks, like Disney Seas!
This is a great book and will take him a while to read it through!!
I think the cost was $19.99

I saw a review of this new Epcot guide on jimhillmedia.com. It looks like a good one.

DW bought me the Hidden Mickey's book and the WDW trivia book. Both are great. I like to have DD9 ask me the questions from the trivia book (I am a trivia nut and she is a reading nut) But the book I am hoping for ;) for Father's Day is Birnbaum's WDW guide book 2006. I am the planner slash researcher so I can't wait until Father's Day. I got the one before our trip in 2003 (thus the username) and about wore the ink off the pages. Hope that helps!!

I would definitely recommend "Disney War" by James Stewart. I just bought it 2 days ago and I can't put it down. It's about the battle between Roy E. Disney and former Disney CEO Michael Eisner. :thumbsup2
