I just found out that I'm going to have a baby in January! This is great news (albeit a surprise) but I"m in a pickle about our trip in late October...I'll be a few days into my third trimester if all goes well and I don't know if I'll be able to walk around as much as a disney vaction requires. However, selling the reservation (BWV 1 bedroom during food and wine) and not going seems so sad to me!
I won't sell until I'm in my second trimester, so that would be mid-july. But what would you do? Would you sell it or go?

CNMOONER...
Firstly, CONGRATS :thumbsup2 on the baby! When we found out about our little surprise before our April trip, we thought about canceling the trip. My wife's doctor said we didn't need to. She was 6 1/2 months pregnant when we flew to Disney.
We didn't do alot of our normal walking with her. Obviously, she didn't do any rides (other than "It's a small World" - her favorite).
Your decision depends on whether you want to do Disney pregnant.
Good Luck!

It all depends on you of course, but I'm thinking, how do you normally do Disney? If it's Commando style, or fast paced at all, then I say definitely go. Your condition will make you take it at a much slower pace, and in doing so, you'll discover a whole new Disney that you didn't know was there.
You'll go into the attractions maybe you've always passed up before. You'll take longer lunches. You'll read more things, see more things. You'll observe people.
It's a golden opportunity you might not want to pass up.
Just IMHO.

GO! I went at 6 1/2 months pregnant in June of last year and it was great! I just had to take it easy, enjoyed some long basks in the pool, took a nap here and there! AND don't be afraid to go for a wheelchair or ECV if you need to! Relax and enjoy!

Our DD will be starting her third trimester when we go in late June. This trip was planned last July long before baby #4 was even being considered. She is very excited to be going and will enjoy the resort, parks, and all WDW has to offer with her husband, 3 sons, sister and brother in law, 2 nieces and her parents. She has never had second thoughts about cancelling and her OB told her to use common sense and have fun.

A week ago, on a fairly hot day (92 or so), a visitor to Everglades National Park came into our visitor center and told us "A pregnant woman is in BAD shape!"
I rushed out to check, and sure enough, she was about 7 months and pretty flushed from the heat and exertion of taking a short hike.
But when I asked if she was okay, she said, "Sure -- I'm pregnant...not DYING!" and we had a good laugh with that.
Have a great trip!

Our first trip to BWV was when DW was 8 months pregnant with our first...
We just made it a point to take it easy and not go commando... I think we only when to one or two parks... (One of the beauties of DVC is that you know you will always be back to WDW soon.. ;0) You don't have to feel pressured to see and do everything.. )
Hang out by the pool... Stroll through Epcot.. Take frequent breaks for water and rest...
Some of the spas may even have pregnancy massages for the sore backs, feet, etc..
One word of advice.. Always get the guidemaps... and have your DH always knowing where the closest Women's room is.. :teeth:

It's a no brainer IMHO. SInce you have been to WDW a number of times in the past, there is no need to "hit every ride" during your stay, so go an enjoy the cool weather and relax without running around feeling you have to cram in everything. Do everything at a slower pace and spend more time looking at the millions of things you zipped by running to SM, BTMR, TOT or KS. You may want to pass on EE but Soarin is a definite yes.
Enjoy your last few months of peace and tranquility...and your last visit to WDW without kids...for at least another 20 years.

IMHO I would definitely plan on going!!! Even if you can't do all that you normally would, going while pregnant is still a wonderful experience... I should know, I've done it twice  As long as everything is going well, and you keep hydrated, there's no reason you shouldn't go as long as your doctor says it's okay....
If anything should change, you can always rent out the reservation or cancel the reservation greater than thirty days out..
And by the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a blessing :thumbsup2

I went when I was Pregnant with my second. I was about 6 months and we went in October and stayed at BWV! The weather is milder and I had a great time. I have a 4yr. old as well and I spend a lot of time chasing him around too!
You should go... I mean how could you pass up the Food and Wine Festival....any pregnant womans dream!
Oh, one more thing...Saratoga Springs Spa offers a "new mommy massage!"
Congrats!

I did DL at 6 months and it was a great experience. I had a rough first tri and was pretty uncomfortable from about 32 weeks on but at 6 months it was perfect. One day I walked 11 miles according to my pedomoeter. Just take things a lot slower. I totally agree with others that you will enjoy the slower pace. More time at the pool, longer sit down lunches out of the heat and maybe do some attractions you would normally overlook.
Congrats!

go slow, get a wheelchair from bell services (it is free), and just enjoy it...
now I don't know about the food/wine festavial - I would be tempted to drink and I though that wine was bad for baby???? but at 6 months I think even that is okay!

If you are planning to request a wheelchair from your resort, you might also want to take along phone numbers of the off-site equipment rental companies. The resorts usually have wheelchairs to lend, but they are not guaranteed. Just in case you need one and can't get one from the resort, you could call one of off-site places.
If you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board and then check out the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will finf information about contacting the off-site companies.

I went to WDW when I was 6 months pregnant with my son, my daughter was about 19 months at the time.
It was a great trip, we took it a easier than normal, but we still went to the parks and had a great time, we just spent more time by the pool, hanging out..but honestly you might feel just fine.
Truly, besides having a huge stomach, LOL, and not getting comfy to sleep at night,I felt just as peppy as normal.
I was running around doing my normal thing up until the day I delivered with both kids.
I say GO!! :thumbsup2

Is this your first? If so, consider this -- it's a lot less tiring to go when pregnant than to go with an infant or toddler! :rotfl2:
Seriously, that sounds like a good time to take a "babymoon" -- your energy is up, the MS is (hopefully!) gone, and you're not uncomfortably huge. Go and have fun.
And CONGRATULATIONS! :thumbsup2

Congratulations!!!
Good luck with your decision!
If it were me, I would go. I spent my entire second pregnancy dreaming and planning my next Disney vacation. The result of which was our buying into DVC!

CONGRATULATIONS!
I went on a Disney Cruise and did some WDW in my second trimester. Not sure that'd I'd chance going in my third, though.
Good luck with your decision!

I agree that it is a perfect time to go, the second trimester is when you feel the best during the pregnancy and you will be just outside of that so you won't be uncomfortabley large. If this is your first you might not even be showing all that much at that point, some women with their first don't even get into maternity clothes until the third trimester. I know with my first I really wanted to wear a cute maternity outfit to Christmas dinner (baby was due in April) and it just swam on me. I wore it anyway though, LOL. If it gets to be too much for you to handle you can always take breaks or get a wheelchair for a bit. And I will agree with everyone that said it is way way way easier to go pregnant than to go with a toddler, enjoy it while you can! :thumbsup2

Best wishes for a healthy baby!
I also would vote for you to keep your plans and go.
All three of our sons visited WDW before they were born. :dance3: I would not go back and change anything if given the chance. All three were great trips. And I pretty much forgot about being pregnant.
Enjoy!

Congradulations and lots of pixiedust: coming your way. Go relax and enjoy. It'll be a while before you can do it again and you won't be alone anymore. It'll still be great fun to watch the little one though.

Congratulations!
Definitely go! I went at 7 months pregnant for our first trip home. Both my DH and I agree that of all our trips to WDW that one was the best (with the exception of DS first trip)! The weather was perfect all week :sunny: and we really slowed things down. We enjoyed BCV a lot that week and F&W Fest was going on at Epcot. We loved it. In the evenings DH would get in the hot tub by the pool and I would sit on the steps and put my feet in and soothe my feet and ankles. :teeth:

Ask your Doctor what he or she thinks. I would plan on not going, but thats just me. If you do decide to go, have a good time and please take it easy.
Good Luck........
Oh, get all the sleep you can now.

We were in the same situation as you and I really wanted to go to Disney.
The difference is we are expecting twins and it is a higher risk type preganancy.
I asked the Dr for her adivce and she recommended us to go however I just didn't feel right about it because being from Canada, the insurance situation if the babies are born is very different.
If this was not a twin pregnancy and all was good and I had my Dr's approval, I definately would go!!
Just take it at an easy pace, drink tons of water and most of all, have fun!!

You should deffinately go [imho] as long as all is going well. Walking is a great thing to do when your pregnant and if you tire out there's always the lovely resort to go home to. Congrats on the up coming arrival. You'll have many wonderful years of sharing disney with your little one. :goodvibes

I think as long as you're feeling well and your OBGYN gives you his/her blessing, then go and enjoy!
I've done a Disney Cruise and WDW while into my 2nd trimester and it as great! There's nothing better than being able to eat as much as you want because you have the nice maternity pants to expand with you! :)
Be sure to drink plenty and get a lot of rest.
