Hi,

I recently stayed there for one night (5/20) before my VWL week. I had a studio room which included a Jacuzzi tub, king sized bed, porch, microwave and fridge. Everything was clean and beautiful.

The Resort staff was very nice. Everyone was friendly and efficient. After I got my room key there is a guest relations desk to the right. They check your name off and give you a welcome pack. Plus, they have lots of park info, maps, discount coupons, etc. In the lobby is "Charlie", a large parrot who greets guests.

The Resort itself has wonderful pool areas on both sides. One is themed like a volcano. There's also a large game room with pool tables, video games, large screen TV, etc. A miniture golf course is on-site too. I took a bunch of pics and will post some later.

It's located close to the Hotel Plaza Blvd entrance to WDW, Crossroads, Winn-Dixie, etc. Very convenient location.

I'd stay there again and have friends booked there in July.

We stayed there a couple of years back not real far from disney but it took about 15-30 minutes to get to disney from hotel. It was really close to a store and liquer store ;) so that was great. We had the full suite with a inlaw apartment. very clean and comfortable we had 4 kids under 7 and 6 adults and had plenty of room. You will really like it could not beat the price :sunny:

We haved stayed at Cypress Pointe for most of our WDW vacations, and love it! DDs love the pools, playground, and mini golf. DH and I love the amount of space we have, and that you can shop at Winn-Dixie and eat in your condo or go to one of the many nearby restaurants

We have stayed at Cypress Pointe 3 times and really like the location and the condo. On the Orlando Hotels and Attractions page, go up to the right hand corner, click SEARCH, and type in Cypress Pointe. You will find lots of posts and info on this resort! Have a great trip!

We are staying at this resort the end of this month. We do not want to rent a car from the airport because we are arriving late at night and do not want to deal with a car rental at that hour. We would like to rent a car the day after our arrival, does anyone know what car rental companies are closest to the resort?

We stayed there in Dec. '03 and Dec. '05 and had wonderful experiences both times. We stayed in the Sunterra part of Cypress Pointe. It is also really close to Sea World if you decide to go there. I would love to stay there again.

A short cab ride down the road will get you to the Car Care Center in Downtown Disney, or to the one at Dolphin Resort. I know for sure that National and Alamo can be rented from there.

I am at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas right now. We have a 2 bedroom unit and are loving it. Plenty of room, very clean, well-stocked, 3 great pools, lots of activities for the kids. We will be here until next Tuesday. Post a question and I'll do my best to answer it for you.

LBS,

I recently bought a 3 bedroom resale timeshare at the GrandeVillas but i have never been there yet.

Can you tell me how the arcade is? My son loves video games and will want to spend some time there.

How close is the Volcano pool to the Grandvillas?

Are you going to Magic Kingdom or Mgm? How long is the car ride and is parking at the parks for from the entrance?

Are the grounds/scenery nice or does it look like a typical condo?

One more question, is the second room really small and does it have a t.v?

Thanks so much for the info? We will be going in November and would like some opinions of our new timeshare.

LBS,

Is there a bathroom in the second bedroom (the bedroom with the twin beds)? Thanks!

Do you have a pool view? What floor are you on?
Thanks! :sunny:

We are in GrandVillas, Porpoise Cay on the 5th floor with a pool view. It is maybe a 3 minute walk to the Volcano Pool. We haven't actually spent much time in the arcade, but it looks to be good sized. We'll check into it and report back. It will be a good, safe place to turn your son loose if he likes video games.

The grounds are beautiful in our opinion. This is the first time we have stayed here. The pictures on websites are very accurate descriptions of the grounds. Everything is very lush. The second bedroom is the one with twin beds in it, but no TV. That is one of the few complaints we have had. But our kids haven't complained about no TV. The bathroom is right across the hall from it. The room has been quiet and we haven't heard any noise from the pool.

Location couldn't be better for an off-property site. None of the theme parks is more than a 20 minute drive parking lot to parking lot. Lots of restaurants, drug stores, groceries, etc. all within 5 minutes or less.

We usually rent a house but are seriously considering Cypress Pointe for our December trip. There will be two families traveling together, and we'll probably want the 2 BR.

If I understand everything, the Grand Villas actually have two twin beds while the other only has a twin and a trundle. Since we'll have our then 19 year old DD and probably the other family's then 18 year old DD, I don't want the trundle.

I'm glad to hear that the volcano pool isn't a long way from the Grand Villas. I was afraid that it might be. Are the slides big enough for adults too, or are they child sized?

There are 2 bathrooms in the 2 BR condos. One is in the master bedroom. The other is right next to the 2nd bedroom. You have to exit the bedroom to get to the bathroom next door. This was nice for me because I stayed up late after my DH and kids went to bed. They had the bedroom doors closed but I was able to use the 2nd bathroom without going into either of the bedrooms.

We stayed at Cypress Pointe in Dec. We liked it and would stay there again. But, we did have a few problems with the plumbing. Make sure you check the washer when you do laundry. Ours did not have any cold water, only HOT!!! The hot was hot, the cold was hot. Thank goodness I noticed before I ran my clothes through the whole cycle. I called the front desk (early evening) and they had it fixed for us by the time we returned from the parks the next day. Also, our kitchen faucet was plumbed backwards, hot was cold, cold was hot. We just dealt with that.

One last problem was that the oven didn't work well. We cooked a frozen pizza the last night we were there and it took forever to cook (more than half an hour!). I let them know about that when we checked out. Next time I'll take an oven thermometer to test the temp out when we arrive. We mostly used the cook top and microwave for fixing dinner and they both worked well.

I'm not trying to scare anyone off, just letting you know you should test out the equipment when you arrive just to be sure everything is functioning. Management was responsive to fixing things so I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Is this accurate? I hadn't read this anywhere??

Yes, it's true. If you go to the CPR website it will show you floor plans. We've always stayed at the GV and have always been very happy. The CPR are supposed to be newly revnovated, and other like that. However, there's no bathroom door in the MBR; I wouldn't like that.

For the poster going with 2 families, book the 3 bedroom. It's only about $35. more per night but you get another whole suite room with large bath, large bed, small kitchen and table, plus a sofa bed. The extra privacy will be nice for both families.

If driving to MK from CPR take the back way in, past Ft. Wilderness--it saves a lot of time. Not sure of the street names but I'm sure others will post....

I'll give an ok review.

We got there after a LONG drive (17 hours) and was told our room was ready.

they gave us keys and the room key didn't work. So back to the lobby for a new key. The staff gave us another key for the same room we then walked over there again... key still didn't work.

This is now two trips back and forth to lobby with no success. We get in the lobby a third time (by this time DH is fuming==ready to call other hotels with his cell)

We start getting a tad angry about this they find another room, it is a 3rd floor walkup near the pool. We go over there to check it out, it is so full of smoky smell it is atrocious. My eyes watered up by the doorframe it was so smoky. Our only request was non smoking-the 3rd floor wouldn't have bothered me too much. Now DH is past fuming to furious.

I tell him to calm down but bring the kids into the lobby with me. Mind you they've been cooped up for 17 hours and are ansty saying stuff like "Can we go in NOW?", "Whats taking so LONG" and such like that in the lobby... well, they were a bit LOUD. (I didn't tell them to be loud, they just were)

I go again to the lobby (4th trip if you are counting). Now not only the hotel clerks but the manager is involved. I guess to get us out of the lobby in front of guests they suddenly found a 1st floor right near the first unit that didnt open. This key worked and all was well, but it took over an hour and a half to get it all squared away.

The unit was nice and the area was fine. soem of the other occupants were obnoxious though. If the first unit key would have worked, we would have been directly under a family that had was looked like 13,353 people in the unit --they had about 7 cars there for that unit and they played salsa music until 3 am!

Our unit was in the back so there were no problems at all with noise or people.

Parking spaces were at a premium. Once or twice people were blocked in by others (the family with 7 cars). We didn't have the problem but others did. We also have a big SUV so its pretty imposing.

We got a great rate at Hotel Kingdom. It was close to restaurants, downtown disney and other things. The unit itself was nice.. loved the Jacuzzi in the bedroom. It was easy to overlook the lack of a bathroom door easily for me. That wasn't an issue. I did like the idea of a washer/dryer full kitchen. We did use the full kitchen and bought stuff at the Winn Dixie to really cook.

After the initial fiasco, (and it was a big one) the stay was pretty good. The pool was ok, but as it got darker the rowdier teenagers were around and getting a tad wild. Since there are no lifeguards around, I was nervous then.
My kids liked the slides though.
