General DISNEY Swap Sign-ups CLOSED

I've changed the swap to General Disney. One group will remain specific to the Disneyland's 50th celebration. Please make the elements to fit any Disney park. If you had signed up as the Disneyland swap I will leave your signups as they are unless you want to change them.

Disneyland Swap DUE Friday August 25th

1. Choose a Ride, Land, Parade,Character or show
2. Choose 2 different items from the list below - I will list your theme & elements .
3. PM me with your DIS name, name and address - so I can pre-address the return envelopes. I will also send you my address and phone number so I can always be reached. Should there be an issue with anything.
4. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled - like every Friday (or which ever day of the week works best for you). Communication is very important in a swap so please make sure you check in to the Progress thread EVERY week.
5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
6. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag; put all of your Ziploc bags into a large Ziploc bag - be sure to include your name, your DIS name and your address on your big bag (this step is important); include $4.05 for postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items. If you do more than one Swap please include $ 8.10 for a priority box. Please also mark your large Ziploc baggie with the swap group # (this will make sorting so much easier than last time.)
7. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
8. There will be 12 people per group – I will have 4 groups. If the groups do not fill up then I will combine them
9. HAVE FUN!! It isn't worth doing if you don't have fun.

There is a similar machine in the Emporium, Esmerelda the Fortune Teller. And a Pirate fortune teller named Fortune Red in the shop at the exit of Pirates.

The Disneyland topper I am going to do, is really DL specific...but it could also be considered a paper piecing, so why don't you move my Group 2 stuff to the DL 50th group, and call it paper piecing & journal boxes.

My group 3 stuff, being Alice should still work, but it will be for characters instead of the ride, but I had a great idea for borders so switch me from paper piecing to borders.

In Group 4, I thought I would have to change since Shrunken Ned isn't at WDW. BUT!!!! The remote control boats in the MK are called "Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats" so I am good there. :)

I am VERY interested in this swap, but I don't really understand LOL. Do I need to sign up for each group and what are the themes for each groups, besides the 50th? Nope you don't have to sign up for each group. i just made 4 groups so if others wanted to do more they could. The only group that is Really specific is the 50th group. The other 3 groups are generic and can be anything. If you can sign up for 1 or 4 or pick the group with what you like the best.

Wishes is the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom in WDW. I remember you are a DL person, they also use the Wishes song in Remember...Dreams Come True so it could still work for Disneylanders.

I recently found letteringdelights.com and they have Journaling Delights which would be PERFECT for some Disney pages. My question is, would it be ok to use them for a border, or a tag, or whatever, as long as I mat it onto another piece of paper (which would make it double matted)?

originally I was doing just a disneyland swap only, but due to lack of participation I opened it up to GENERAL DISNEY. It can be anything as long as it can be used for either park. The only gorup that is specific to Disneyland is group one which is focusing on the 50th celebration. The other three groups are open for anything.

Regarding your Disney RR question-if it were ME using that as a theme, I think I would find out from the host how many I needed to make that said Disneyland RR and how many that needed to be DisneyWorld RR. LOL Barring that, I would assume Disney RR would work as well. At Disneyland, the announcement is always DISNEYLAND RAILROAD tho so that's just my take on it.

Hmmm another theme for the 50th.... Let's see.....hidden 50th signs? Ummm Remember....Dreams Come True fireworks show? Let's see, what else is 50th? More golden stuff, LOL. I am sorry, I must not be a very big help here! LOL

It's no trouble for me personally as long as I know ahead which park people prefer. The WDW spiel is also specific for WDW by stating Walt Disney World Railroad. I get such a warm fuzzy feeling when I ride the RR........it's just so traditionally Disney! I can't go to the park without riding it even though it may be kind of corny!

As for Group #1: Would it be possible for me to do a theme of "It all Started with a Mouse" even though I have a couple of other quotes as well? I was thinking of doing something different, if you approve, by doing the following elements: 1) Matted quote/ song lyric/ poem and also 2) photo mats with quotes on each of them that follow this theme as well. Let me know if this is OK.
