We are leaving in 7 days for our first trip to Universal. My husband asked me if I have our itenniery ready. My response was no. From what I have read on this board I decided to take the laid back approach for this vacation. We are staying at the HRH so I thought that this would help us with the lines for the sit down restaurants. Is this correct. We usually do counter service for lunch
and sit down for nights. I know we want to eat at Margaritaville, Mythos, and Hard Rock cafe.
Another question:)
Which park do you like to visit first?
Anything else you think a first timer needs to know will be appreciated. Like I said I had planned on going with the flow, but I do not want to miss anything.
thanks!

We're leaving in 2 days for our 6th trip. Since you're staying onsite, you reaaly don't need
an itinerary. Check with the concierge in the hotel about dinner reservATIONS. I do know that when you walk up to the host/hostess and show your room key that you have priority seating. OUr first park will be IOA because my DD LOVES the HULK. Have fun!!!

Hey, I'm going in 7 days and staying the Hard Rock too so let's talk!
Restaurants:
You'll get very different responses as to how necessary reservations are for Margaritaville. Do not listen to anyone who says you don't need one! Either make them at the hotel or walk up to the restaurant.
Also, when you want to eat at Mythos, I would just walk up to the restaurant when you get to the park or at least one of the Dining/Info Services in the parks or Citywalk.
You could even make a reservation for Hard Rock right now online but if not, that should be easy to make when you're there as well. I think your hotel key does get you next seating anyway.
I like to do Universal first but only because Islands has more thrills and is a little more fun... so best for last kind of... although Universal is my favorite park.

We might go to Universal first. To get me ready for more of the thrill rides. My kids are thrill junkies they'll ride everything. I have already told them that I will not ride the Hulk or Dueling Dragons. I do not like to go upside down. I have rode Aerosmith RC at MGM more times that I can count, but its not that bad and you can't really see when you do upside down. Hopefully I will be good to go with all the other rides. Anyway i'm ready to kick back, relax and just enjoy.
Are there any places you can bring kids ages 13 and 10 at night to listen to some music. Of course i'm not talking about clubs. I heard that Margaritaville is a fun place to go.
