Hi everyone!

Since my old journal disappeared, I decided to start a new one...I will have to edit my signature for a new weight loss goal.
2005 was a tough year for me. I got divorced, moved to a new place, lost my mom to lung cancer in a matter of weeks, and sent my firstborn off to college...talk about stress!

So I recommitted to my health. I realize that being healthy is important for me now that I'm on my own. I need to stay strong for myself and my kids. So now I do weights with a personal trainer 3 times a week and I do 30-50 minutes of jog/walking on the treadmill after. It's expensive, but knowing that I have an appointment to work out is the motivation I need right now; otherwise, I think I'd sit home and be sad all the time. Exercise is mental therapy for me and helps with the depression.

Another issue is my eating. I know I'm taking in too many calories and that's why the scale hasn't budged, even though I've been exercising regularly since February. ( Although my body fat % has decreased slightly and I'm down one size...muscles, woo-hoo!!! ) I do what I can though. Maybe I'll try some of the WISH Challenges for motivation.

Thanks for reading and for the support. Sometimes I really feel all alone now and have no one to "dump" on since my mom died...she was always a big support. Then I thought of all my WISH friends and decided that a new journal would be therapeutic for me.

Hope everyone has a healthy day today!
Jean

Thanks Tracy and eeyore25 for posting in my journal. I am on vacation now so hopefully I can read some more journals and get to know people.

I took my old WISH clippie off because it was outdated. I really don't know how much weight I have to lose really. I didn't even buy a scale when I moved, probably a good thing! Last year when I was running/jogging consistently, I got down to low 140's, fitting easily into sz 10. After my mom died, I was too depressed to do anything and I let my exercise go...it was probably the worst thing I could have done but honestly, just shaving my legs and getting to work every day and getting my son packed for college was about all I could deal with.

Now I weigh about 153...this is after 4 months of consistent strength training 3 days a week. I'm getting muscle definition, especially upper body, and I'm stronger, which is great, but I wish I could get down to around 140-145 again. I need to drop inches in my waist and hips too. I probably need to ramp up the cardio and get in at least an hour most days of the week. Well, I'm on vacation this week, so I will try to get on that treadmill/elliptical a little more!

Hope everyone has a great day! Keep moving! I'm off to clean my house!
