DH liked it..but now I have to scour all the scrapbooking stores the find the paper I need to use... I have the template ready...and I'm excited to try one this weekend with the right paper... and than I managed to get the tag to match perfectly.. provided again that I find the right paper... if not you might find me on the Dumbo ride due to stressing out over the paper I need!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while! 9 days at WDW, and then recovering from the vacation have about done me in! :rolleyes: What a problem to have, though, right???

I have gotten several Ride swap items back already, and they look great! You all are going to love the items from this swap! :thumbsup2 It's funny to think that all around the world, really, we are going to have the same items in our books--that's pretty cool! Ok, enough guidance counselor digression. . .(job hazard, sorry!)

rlovew & fairyauntmother--I got your stuff! They are terrific! We did breakfast with Pooh at Crystal Palace on this trip, and we rode the WDW Railroad, so I am looking forward to using all of the cool swap stuff I have!

I also have to share a tip I learned while working on this swap. I was using a small punch and it was murdering my hands constantly pressing it. I know there are things you can buy that make punching easier but I don't have one and I was trying to think of what I had in my house that would help. I was about to go find my DH and ask him for a wooden block and then I realized I had one of my own - a rubber stamp! I flipped it upside down so the wooden side provided pressure for the punch and the rubber side cushioned my hand. It was perfect. I zipped through the rest of them in no time doing it that way!

Oh what a wonderful tip!!! I'm going to make sure I put that on a post it by my work "station".. My mom bought me one of those punching things but I don't like dragging it out of the box all the time.. Dkids thought it was a toy so I boxed it up and now they can't find their so called "toy"!

I went to ACMoore this evening. I got their email this week with 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock on sale for 6 cents a sheet! The cashier about freaked when I walked up there with my pile! I think I've got everything I need to do my July swaps, though, so it was worth it! :thumbsup2

BTW, I don't know if they are doing this at all ACMoore's, but they are having a scrapbook celebration at ours on Sunday. They are giving away a Cricut! :cheer2: I never win anything like that, but a girl can dream! ;)

Queenie, Dumb question buy why??? We have 5 British soccer coaches/players over here with us this week teaching our kids soccer camp.. They are with British Challenger... They have been awesome!!!! They are a lot of fun!!! Anyway, why can't you fly the flag??

Yes, I can even tell you what some of the plays are called..and I can tell you about offsides, and I can tell you the rules for our league! I even coached once... I assist with DH but now that all 5 kids are in sports I don't do that much any more!! I can't seem to get the other coaches around town to coordinate their schedules to have all my kids practicing at the same time! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I'm going to work hard on mine today and this weekend... I found a bamboo stencil for the Enchanted Tiki Room design.. Than got an idea for the other side of the border that I want to try out.. Now, I need to find some opaque fringy stuff like you put in gift bags.... Oh, I so hope this works.. if not I'm back to square one.. Plus, on my Stitch's Great Escape everyone will get 2 element sets.. I didn't like the first one but don't want to toss them.. so they will get both.. I like the second set better...

I hope to get these packaged and mailed back out to you by the 27th of July--I go back to work on the 28th, and I would really like to have them done before that. Just let me know how you're doing with your stuff! Everything I have seen so far looks terrific!

I go back to work on July 28th, and things get pretty hectic for the next couple of weeks after that. I will be taking them to the post office on the 27th. . .that way, you can know when to expect them.

Yes, we were very productive!!! Now we can relax and enjoy everything at the fair!!! We ran out and get the pearls for the borders of the inside of the box to cover the edges to make them "clean"... We found a set that were 1/2 pearls so the backs were flat!! :woohoo: I'll have to post a picture of her box!!! I think she did a pretty good job!!! With all the spare time I had.. I even cleaned my scraproom and the HOUSE!! Yes, we have a clean house.. and the laundry is one load away from being done!!! :sunny:

I'm trying to remember (after two days) what I did for that swap! :crazy:

I get a lot of brads from www.justbrads.com. And, I think I used some clipart in that swap, too. Oh, and I used some metal charms that I found somewhere on the internet for a really good price (probably Ebay).

I have to admit that we have a craft store, not a scrapbooking store, locally that has been in the process of going out of business for about 3 to 4 months. And, seeing the volume of inventory that they had, I'm sure that's why they went out of business. Their prices used to be too high, too. Well, in May everything was 70% off and this month 80% off. They don't have much left now, but I really got some good bargains. I got a lot of brads for the holiday things as well as other embellishments for a lot of my other swaps. It was fun! I think they're closing at the end of July, finally.

We have undergorund electrical cables since it's a new subdivision, but the power still went out during this storm. It has given me a chance to test out the landscaping repairs done a few weeks ago to prevent drainage in the wrong places. I think it worked, though they need to return to repair their repairs......the usual!!

Ok, new update! I talked to fanofthemouse today, and her stuff experienced one of those "life glitches". It was on its way and then it became confused!

She is going to express it to me tomorrow, so I should have it by Monday/Tuesday at the latest. That will push my mail date until Wednesday or at the absolute latest Thursday. It will go that day!

Ok, DH & I did not get the pics taken last night--I was on the phone with my brother and then my mom, and he was watching the Red Sox game! We are having dinner with my in-laws tonight, but when we get home, I will take the pics and post them. Got mine yesterday and they look wonderful

I was a little worried when I got home since the end of my box had popped open. Since had just had this happen to some swaps I was sending at the PO I now know that you should retape the ends during the heat of the summer months. Just an FYI for those using the boxes. However my package was fine with both my bags of goodies inside.
