My 7 yr old told me she wanted crocs and they were they latest thing. My 4 yr old wants what ever the 7 yr old has (older girl, younger boy). Finding kids sizes are hard and I won't by online (looked at Airwalk - only in red). After I came home with keen shoes for me (I find my comfortable) she wants them know. Not sure what I will do. Who out they has bought them - crocs or keens for kids? What do you think, do they wear them outside Disney? One month to go?

My 4 1/2 year old has 2 pairs of crocs and it is now all she will wear. We have a store in our town that sells them so it is easy for us tro get them. We have yet to wear them to WDW but like I said she ( and I also) wear them all the time at home!

I can't imagine paying Keens prices for children's shoes that they will outgrow so quickly. Actually, I can't imagine paying that for my own shoes and I stopped growing a long time ago!
Our Payless has Airwalks in several different colors for about $15. Maybe try another store? Whatever you do, DON'T get the Walmart or Target knock-offs; they're horrible and your kid's will be miserable in them.

My 8yo DD, my Mom, and myself all have new Crocs for our upcoming trip. I think my Mom wears them the most, but we all wear them whenever possible - going out, at home, whenever. DD has a walk-a-thon at school tomorrow, and while open-toed/open-backed 'sandals' are not allowed at school normally, she's packing her Crocs to wear just for the walk. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Keens. :confused3 Sorry.

My DD 7.5 has both so here is our assessment.

She is on her second pair of Keens Newport, bought the first pair in June 04 and just replaced them last month, the old one look almost brand new. They are a workhorse of a shoe and super comfy. I like her feet to be cool but protected also. She wears them everywhere, school, canoeing, camping and WDW with no problem. Alot of the summer programs around here won't allow anything but tennies and this style of closed toe sandal. Yes they are expensive ($55ish unless you catch them on sale, I have seen them for $32) but for us they are worth every penny. I have 2 pair myself and wear them from spring well into fall and DH has his also.

The crocs, (I'm still not sold on them, tried them and they made my knees and hips ache after about 4 hours, noone else I know has this problem) but she seems happy with them. She has worn the crocs to WDW but she says school and camping are no good cause she is always having to get the dirt out of them and DH says no to shoes that could float off her feet canoeing.

If I had to pick just 1 for her it would be the Keens, we just seem to get more bang for our buck out of them.

Hope this is more helpful than rambling

We got my daughter a pair of Keens and it is all she will wear. We got them on sale for about $38.00. I also don't like to spend a lot of money on shoes that they will grow out of but we are going to disney and I want her to be comfortable. I rationalized it knowing that she will wear these shoes probably everyday this summer. These shoes are simply wonderful!

Keens here too! My ds(3) needed sandals for Disney so I went looking. Once he tried on the Keens he wouldn't take them off. He loves them. Wears them around the house all the time- and has them on his feet for the past month. He is always looking for "me shoes". So I vote Keens(and they are kinda cute in tiny sizes!)

You can buy Crocs as small as a toddler 8/9 at Nordstrom and Von Mauer n the kid's section. My dd3 wore them every single day last summer and we bought a new pair for this summer in the next size. They stay on her feet without any issues when she uses the heel strap. She's worn them at the parks, camping, beach walking, playgrounds, school, etc. We love them!

Update - I just brought my daughter a pair of kids crocs. I foung them in a local boutique store for kids. I was surprisingly surprised to find them cheaper then online ($24.99). Of course while we were there my daughter saw flip flops called bubble flip flops or floaties and wanted them to (said no also, also $20.00) and she still wants Keens. That a girl. She is happy with the 1 pair for now. :bounce: :cheer2:

The crocs are very durable, and comfy, but they do get hot on the inside.

We bought Dd9 Keen's this weekend. She wore them out of the store, on a 2 mile walk and bike riding for hours yesterday. When she took them off, I checked for any red area's, hot spots, blisters...none!! Straight out of the box! She came out of her room this morning with them on...in her nightgown! :lmao: She has her Airwalks packed too, I have heard it's best to alternate shoes instead of wearing one pair for the full two weeks we'll be at Disney. So, she will alternate between her Keens, Nike's and Airwalks.
