Hello Magic Kingdom Land Swappers!

I know the deadline is way off but thought I would start a little thread to keep everyone up-to-date on how we are all doing! I want to Thank all of you for participating!!! You all are AWESOME!!!

Due date is July 20th (that is when I need to receive your package. I will wait one week to return them just in case someone‘s doesn‘t arrive on schedule).

A. PM has been sent out for those who I need addys from still.
B. Post your status on the Progress thread. As your time permits
C. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
D. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each element. You‘ll have 12 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. - be sure to include your name, your DIS name. On the larger envelope please put your mailing address on your bag.
E. Mailing Instructions- Please use the Flat Rate Envelopes ($4.05) or the Flat Rate Box ($8.10) to mail your packages of goodies to me! Include $4.05 for envelope postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items or $8.10 for the box postage. On the outside of your box/envelope please include your DIS name and Swap name in the bottom corner!
F. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

You are so far ahead of me.. I have ideas running everywhere in my head and on paper... go to do a template and it putters out into YUCK!

I did a prototype of my file folder today- those will go quickly IF I can decide if I want to do some lettering on them or not.

I have an idea for the journaling boxes but have not done any yet. I need to get my hiney on the ball and get it all done. We are taking an unexpected trip to the World the week of July 4th ( :banana: :banana: :teeth: ) and I'm not sure I will have the gumption to get it done when we get back! Oh well, I need something to do to keep from bouncing off the walls until we leave! :rotfl:

Nancy- Just popping in to update you. My things are all done with the exception of 1, maybe 2 embellishments. I will wait until we get back from WDW to mail them. We should be back on the 8th or 9th, however, there is a chance the place where DH works will shut down for an extra week (won't know until the very last minute most likely :confused3 ), and if that happens, we are taking a few days to be beach bums and see the Smokies on the way home. If that happens, we will be back by the 12th. That should give me a week to get them to you (mail from here to Indy usually takes 2 days max). :)

Oh, that is no problem at all!!! I hope that you have the opportunity to be beach bums and see the Smokies.. I love that area! We use to go to the Cherokee Reservation when I was younger. I remember camping at the cabins and hearing what my Daddy told me were the bears going through the trash cans..

Wow! I finally got one set of elements done!! I have had them cut out for a while but was coming up with nada on embellishments!!! I got an idea last night.. tried it this morning and it worked!! I hope everyone will like them... :)

I finished another set of elements last night... so I have about 4 more to go too!!! DH is home again today so after I run errands this morning, I'll try starting another set.. I have my ideas...and than once I do a template, I think of an idea for another swap.. I have about a gillion pieces of scrap paper per swap with drawing and ideas on it... :rotfl:

Also, you are sending me your storms again! We had a reprieve yesterday and now we are getting them again.. Just in time for my oldest to get home from basketball camp and unload all of his stuff in the rain... I guess I better go change out of this white shirt! Ok, here's the call.. He's about 20 minutes away!! And we have hail! Yeah! NOT!

ETA: In group 1.. would anyone mind if I switch to 2 slide mounts or a shaker for adventureland.. This mini-file folder is giving me all kinds of fits and today it got the better of me and put me in tears.. Let me know.. I can keep working on it if everyone really wants it! Darn file folder! :(

Yes, please by all means..come and knock them out for me!!!! I may switch to slide mounts.. I have an idea for them..but every time I go downstairs to sneak a few minutes of work in... the phone rings, the kids are arguing over the game, tv or whatever the deal for the moment is! I don't like rainy days when they are stuck in the house...they are never happy! :crazy:

I tend to always carry our dvd player in the van w/ some movies on long trips.. even to my mom's... they get into them and it's a little peace for me!!

I tried a slide mount and liked it.. I want to do a little more to it..but I like it!!! Now, to see if I'm happy once I tweak it a little more! LOL

We got a few storms in but they did not last long and it is humid and muggy.. it's awful here right now.. Some sun peeking through but overcast!

I was laughing at myself today and I wondered if anyone else does something similar. I hate to waste paper (a bit anal retentive about it actually) so when I make a template or test element I never use the actual colors I'm going to ultimately choose. I always use orange, because when I buy cardstock in a package orange is always the color I never end up using so I have tons of it left over. So orange is my "default" color. Does anyone else do anything crazy like that?

I have some construction paper that I use to test a bunch of my stuff. Especially larger items, like checking out my math for double matted frames. A hole too small or too big, is a quick way to ruin a lot of paper.

Actually, yes I do.. I make my templates out of construction paper!! Yes, I laugh at myself and than toss it if it doesn't work properly!! Things that sound easy in my head sometimes don't turn out easy on paper... I was just wondering if what I did on the new slide mounts would have worked on the mini-file folder... hmmm? I'll have to try it out for curosity sake..

I've got 3 groups of elements done.. Only 2 more, I think.. and than I think I have 2 more on the ride swap...and than I need to start the gizzillion others I'm signed up for! DH likes that I'm doing this because he says I've been happier and more tolerating of his late nights at work!!! :rolleyes1

Being University of Tennessee fans, I always end up using all of the orange in a pack! :rolleyes: Brown is my default color! :thumbsup2 I am like you all--I always cut it out of construction paper to try it out first.

Yeah, I'm the pit crew It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it....

As for testing, I sketch in B&W then draw in color. Next is samples but I usually use the colors I plan to use. I'm a visual person so I need to see the real thing. If I had a default color it would probably be white because I pull all the white pages out of my books before I fill them.

I'm doing 3 swaps at this moment.. Literally.. when I get fed up with one.. I move to the next one... fed up.. move to the third.. I've limited to myself there.. so I'm going back to swap 1 today..and tackle the Enchanted Tiki Room again... I just might end up being the Tiki Goddess going off on the cardstock shortly! :rotfl2:

See we are so thinking alike!!! I have the green and tans.. birds..but it's just not fitting together right for me.. So, I tossed it to the side for 2 days..and hopefully will be able to get it to work today...
However, that is on hold til after lunch time because we got 2 more coaches in town for our soccer camp (DH is coordinating it).. well, we need 2 host families to house them and provide food.. We have them staying somewhere temporarily (B&B ~ Bed and Breakfast not Brooke & Brian's if anyone has read KAMommy's DH's trip report)..anyway, I need to provide food for today.. Which not knowing what they prefer I'm running to the grocery again!

The stamps arrived!!!! Yeah!!!! :) Not that I was worried anyway..but DS was thrilled to see them.. He didn't go to DQ yesterday because he got in trouble.. so we are going this afternoon when all the neighbor kids go home!! We have 12 kids here yesterday playing at one time!!! I think my older neighbors are having hissy fits!!! Although several of them went outside and watched a game of kickball and dodgeball and one of the men actually became the umpire!! It was a lot of fun!!! One little guy was trash talking so he suspended him! LOL He had to go to timeout on the swing set!

I said Yeah!! One less thing to get at the store tonight and you're project will be 95% complete.. Hey all!!! I'm sorting now...but I have to take breaks often because the kids always seem to want a snack and drink where I'm working! Ugh!! Things are going well.. since everyone completed we don't have to worry about missing items!! YEAH!!!

Some will go postal tomorrow afternoon and some on Thursday morning.. We are under a heat advisory so I'm having to keep the kids inside more and cooled off... so it is taking a little longer to sort...plus DH is eyeing everything!!! He is like a kid in the candy store!!!

Oh no!!! I know our high school is having 2 a day practices.. kind of makes me glad my oldest isn't playing now... but I feel for all the boys out there.. I feel for that family... My DH coaches soccer/basketball/ whatever for the kids and I know he is constantly reminding some parents to bring water for their kids to rehydrate themselves with.. He finally gave up last year and just started bring a cooler from home to make sure the kids had fluids... :(

Anyway, things are bagged up and ready to go.. I'll take pictures later tonight and get them posted...than off to the post office tomorrow..
