Quickest way from LA downtown to Disneyland

First time in LA and would like to know the quickest way (driving) between these 2 places.
Start from LA ChinaTown area to Disneyland on May 22 (Monday) around 12:00pm (noon).

My trips planner shows Hwy#5 south all the way. What is the traffic look like around that time?

Yeah, that's right. The 5 Freeway always seems to have traffic regardless of the hour but it should be that bad.
