Elizabeth, Woo hoo great to see you. :flower3: Wonderful pictures. My DH has talked about staying there. I get the special rate offer. It certainly looks lovely. What made you deceide to stay there? Just wondering....since you have been a GF girl.
You too! We decided to stay there because we tried it once a few years ago and really enjoyed it. So we then got the Starwood Preferred Guest American Express card which earns points for free nights. We also bought DVC, but we bought the minimum number of points (at Animal Kingdom Villas), so we like to try to use the free Starwood nights at the Dolphin or Swan for our spring trips and use our DVC points for our December trips. It's really a nice resort with a great location, and the free nights can't be beat! Plus, the Heavenly Beds are really great too. As far as the GF goes, I definitely want to stay there again, but for now we'll be sticking with using our DVC points primarily. I'm sure I'll stay at the GF again sooner or later since I do love it so much.

OK, here are some more from our trip last week. These are of king bed room (which was also handicapped accessible) 7106. It was in the Ranchos section in building 7A of Coronado Springs.

Great photos of the YC! Thanks for posting - no, no not too many at all!!:thumbsup2
Although we really like the resort and location, that view is the reason we'll not likely stay there, or BC, again. Had the same view at BC, but requested a room change - lost our full balcony, but had a nice view of the volley ball court :)
Wonderful location though - what's better than strolling over to International Gateway?:goodvibes

Thanks!:goodvibes The view was the only thing I didn't like about my room (Room # 4234), everything else about this resort (Resort grounds, Stormalong Bay pool,Restaurants, Cast Member Service)was amazing!! I'll be sure to splurge for a water view room next time I go again!
Epcot is my favorite park, so I agree about the International Gateway! It's Terrific!:thumbsup2

Thanks for those POP photos, Elizabeth - great pics!
We stayed at POP 3 mos after it opened - the rooms were so clean and very understated for a value (not like All Stars - that decor is too busy for me).
Your photos bring back memories of our first ever value stay - very nervous as we'd only stayed deluxe for yrs and CBR when it was new) - but we returned for a few long weekends for 2 yrs. Great resort. Now POP is so rundown, do not stay there.
Wish the rooms would be kept up better - carpets cleaned, fresh paint, walls washed or spray painted even.
Anyway, thanks again!!!

Hi Elizabeth,
As I said in an earlier post...I love your eye for photography. I would like to ask you a question about King rooms. Since you have stayed in several different Disney resorts, do you know if all King rooms are handicap accessable? My husband and I have started the thinking process of planning of our first trip without the children and would prefer a king room. However, we do not want to take a handicap room away from someone that truly needs it.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Merry! From our experiences, not all of the king bed rooms are accessible, but several of them have been. It seems that most, if not all, of the king bed rooms at value resorts are accessible, but I'm not positive about that. At the moderates, we've had a regular king bed room at POR and an accessible king bed room at CSR. It seems they may have more non-accessible king bed rooms at the moderates since it's a booking category. As far as the deluxes go, we typically don't request a king bed when staying there since they have two queens instead of two doubles. I hope that helps some! You might be able to put in a room request (which of course wouldn't be guaranteed) for a non-accessible king bed room.

Not all are handicap access rooms. Some of the King rooms at WL are regular tub/shower rooms. I believe these tend to be on upper floors. We had a great room, 6129 in April.

I have to say, I am really liking the new "curtains" they are placing in the rooms to give privacy between the bathroom area and the bedroom area. I see this in the All Star, and we just stayed at the FQ and they had the curtain too. Very nice convenience when the entire family is staying in one room. Do all the resorts have these curtains now?

Here are some of my POLY pics from Dec 2008 in Rarotonga - we loved it! - we though the feel and layout of the room was great - soooo relaxing after a day at the parks!

I am really enjoying all the pics of the rooms. Great thread. I have an upcoming trip to WDW. I have stayed in the Fort Wilderness homes. My next stay is CSR. It looks nice, but I think the value rooms look so much more fun.

No, it sure didn't. I believe that the pull out sleeper chair is only found in the 1 bedroom villas.

We just got back last Saturday from a MAGNIFICENT 7-day trip. Because it was more economical for us, we ended up staying at the Pop Century our first night (arriving at around 10.30pm) and utilizing Magical Express (I stayed awake.. off and on... until around 4AM when I gave up on guest services dropping off our luggage. Who wants to be asleep when a stranger arrives at your door with your luggage? He never showed, and we had to call down at 6am when we were getting ready to leave). We then took a Taxi to the Yacht Club at 7AM, checked in, and got to the Magic Kingdom for our first day of vacation. Yes, this was the MK day of Gay Days, but I have to tell you, we have NEVER seen the park so empty- ever. And it was like that until at LEAST around 1pm! Anyways, I came on the boards and asked for recommendations for room requests and you guys really came through. I requested a view of the wedding gazebo, king bed, full balcony, and got a DREAM room! The photos that follow are from our first night in the Pop Century, and then the rest are the Yacht Club. I'd apologize for there being too many, but I know I can't get enough photos of these rooms myself, so I know you'll all appreciate them! Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Love this thread!
We were at Poly this yr - no table and chairs in the Poly rooms now. There is one nice comfy chair with an ottoman, but no table....we wondered what happens with in room dining - where do they put the food? Guess on the desk!
Over the years we've usually stayed in Tokelau (formerly Ohau) and the rooms are larger than the one above, but still no table.
Thanks for the photos, everyone!!

I beleive they actually onl ydeliver till a certain time and then close up for the night. I have read that later travelers are supposed to pack all they need with them or pick up their own luggage as it may not arrive that night. That being said I have ehard of people getting their stuff as late as 1 AM.

You have to create an account w/ photo hosting site like Photobucket.com. Upload your photos to that account and then under each picture will be several different codes. You need to copy the image code it'll look like [img. Then you paste into a new post.

Elizabeth those are great pictures. Your photography of the resorts always makes me feel like I am right there. :goodvibes  Where was your villa? floor, trail and such.
I have been absent from the DIS for a while. Life has been getting in the way of my DIS time. :rotfl2: So I am caching up today. I really can't wait to return to WDW...... it has been too long.
Does anyone have an idea when they will be taking reservations for non-AKV members to stay at Kadani? I would like to book as soon as they are taking them.

Hi Angel! Thanks for the compliments on my pictures--I love taking them! Our villa was on the 5th floor (as are all the DVC rooms except the 5 DVC concierge units on the 6th floor). It was room #5214 and looked out at Sunset Savannah. As far as reservations for Kidani go, DVC members who do not own at AKV may begin booking reservations for Kidani for stays after May 1, 2009 at their 7-month windows.
Dopey Rocks!

Here are some photos of our room from last week. Also, here is a description of the room:
We were in room 4626 last week. Here's what we got:
- 4th floor (highest non-club-level floor)
- newly-renovated (biggest plus for us was full use of the dresser top due to the TV being mounted on the wall)
- full balcony
- daybed
- garden view
- neighbors only on one side
- no neighbors above (the 5th floor does not expand throughout the whole resort)
- right next to the lobby elevators (but we did not notice any elevator noise)
- elevators also right at the Marketplace on 1st floor. Very convenient!!
The only minor negatives (and I wouldn't complain about these at all):
- vending area directly above us. This meant that periodically, we would hear ice cubes rolling across the floor overhead. Mostly, this was mid- to late-mornings when we should have been up and out early anyway.
- because we were close to the elevator, we sometimes heard small children running down the hall and screaming early in the morning before breakfast (6:45 - 7:45am). This is more the parents' issue than the hotel's.
- view did overlook the rooftop of the solarium and an a/c unit, but it did not bother us, and I would prefer this to a parking lot or overlooking the kitchen and loading dock (ours was a standard view room)
Bathroom/vanity area:

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c324/sgwilson/Disney/Room%20pictures/080908DisneyVacation030.jpg
The shower curtain rod was one of the curved ones, allowing for more elbow room in the shower. Since this was our first visit, I'm not sure if this is refurbishment or not.

The refrigerator is inside the low dresser underneath the TV, behind the door with the beach chair, umbrella and beach ball on it. We were pleasantly surprised at how much storage space was available in this room. We also took an over-door shoe holder and hung it outside the bathroom door, which provided plenty of space to keep toiletries off the counter. I feel like they can do a more thorough job of cleaning when there's not so much on the vanity top.

I got it from some cruise planning boards before our cruise last year. With the limited space in staterooms, it REALLY makes sense there. I think they cost under $3 at Target or Wal Mart. Get the fully-clear kind. I shipped mine ahead with a bunch of consumables (small soaps, shampoos, shaving cream, detergent, etc.)
Now, back to the REAL topic. Sorry for the detour.

Thanks. We loved the BC. I am really not sure I would stay anywhere else with our group again (teens, a Grandma who couldn't walk too far, and adults) - just so close to Epcot with a 5-minute walk.
I know renovations are not complete yet. To hear people talk, it sounds like they were starting with the higher floors and moving downward.

Hi Ya Guys and Gals!
I have gone through the indexed CBR pages and didn't see any of the new Nemo themed CBR room pics posted. Here are a few from our stay just three weeks ago. We were in Martinique Room 2425.
Sorry in advance if they are a bit out of order.
The wall safe. My husband has epilepsy and takes quite a few medications. We were able to fit his meds, my son's PSP, a set of keys, a wallet and our portable DVD player in the safe.

There is the King Bed (as seen in the picture) and then another bed in the other room that pulled down from the wall. We never used it as it was just DH and I. Although I told him if his snoring got really bad, he was using the spare bed. We had never been in a suite before--they upgraded us for our 25th wedding anniversary.

So I decided to post here because if I write a trip report/review on the main Resorts board, it will be bumped far down and quickly get lost.
I joined my Mom and my Aunt Patti at the Grand Floridian from Jan. 5-11. After they flew home on Sunday, I stayed one night at the Buena Vista Palace to be close to the Downtown Disney late-night bus. I spent a day and a half exploring the Gulf Coast area between Sarasota and Sanibel Island, flying back to JFK at 6:30 this morning.
Patti & Mom checked in to the GF on January 4; I flew in from New York on Monday night. Because January 3 was Patti's birthday, and it's also her 4th year anniversary surviving thyroid cancer, I faxed a letter with room requests and an in-room birthday card. Someone in Disney Confectionery astounded Patti with this:
http://i43.tinypic.com/rb03gk.jpg
And that's not all. Someone at the Grand had another birthday surprise up their sleeve.
http://i43.tinypic.com/bikn6h.jpg
At about 3 pm on January 4, I received a text message from Patti: "OMG GF upgraded us to main bldg MK view concierge #4407!!!! Did u do this? Thx!"
All I did was gently ask if 4th floor corner rooms were available in Conch or Sago, and Disney gives Patti an upgrade worth over $2k and a white chocolate Mickey Mouse. That's almost enough in and of itself for this jaded pseudo-intellectual critic (and former intern travel writer) to shut up. Reveling in the joy of two sisters after a rough year, plus this view out the window as I arrived? Bang! I'm 8 years old again.
http://i40.tinypic.com/2dqqb1w.jpg
Somewhere between six years of architecture school, world travel, autoCAD and Amsterdam coffee shops...still resides a warm place for this confection and all that encircles it.
http://i40.tinypic.com/2ho8e1s.jpg
http://i41.tinypic.com/w17ad4.jpg
This is room 4407 taken from the balcony. That single flip-sofa wasn't as comfortable as I remember the old GF daybeds to be. But the rolling table earns points.

Buon giorno, principessa.
http://i42.tinypic.com/b5my3a.jpg
Not that there weren't problems. at 3 am on January 7, the plumbing between rooms 4407 and 4406 inexplicably sent water gushing out of the toilet. A lot of water. The water flooded the first 10' of our room all the way to the desk, and began moving into the hotel hallway. The toilet wan't clogged at the time, but let it be known that all guestroom toilets at the GF have a locked shutoff valve. Yes, locked...a key is required.
Patti, who was unfortunately in the bathroom at the time of the flood, marched down to the lobby after 30 minutes of being transferred to Disney call centers. The bewildered front-desk CM sent a bewildered security guard, whose job it is to supervise the non-Disney overnight cleaning contractors. We were immediately moved one floor down, to 4306. As an eager overnight bellman named Otis helped move (and dry out) everything, some talented plumbers showed up and explained that the GF's plumbing has not been given much attention in two decades. As the bathrooms are placed back-to-back with the plumbing stack between them, our new room was spared the trouble. However, as Otis and I discovered through the next hour...room 4307 apparently flooded the same way. A puddle crept from under its door and drenched the newspaper. Its occupants, who were sleeping during the flood, raised holy-hell the next morning.
Here's the view from the fourth floor hallway. The rest of the pictures aren't pretty.
http://i40.tinypic.com/11jsmjb.jpg
Now then. Where were we? Room 4306, which was exactly like the previous room except backwards (and with a functioning loo!). The other room is above and one-to-the-left of where I'm standing in this picture.
http://i41.tinypic.com/i3zzg3.jpg
On January 11, Patti and Mom flew back to Pennsylvania. They had a wonderful time - Disney and all the great CMs at the Grand and at Animal Kingdom (and at Cirque du Soleil) made it even sweeter. They even ran into Bruce Springsteen twice at the GF. I still laugh at his story from the early 80s about not being allowed into the Magic Kingdom because of his tattoos and scruffy beard. Speaking of tattoos, is there a dress code for 1900 Park Fare? at 9 pm in Commander Porter's (the men's store), there was a man buying pants who was told he couldn't accompany his children to the character dinner unless he covered up his leg tattoos.
Since our park tickets didn't expire until midnight, I stayed in Disney. After storing my luggage while motorboating around the lagoon and Bay Lake, I checked into the Buena Vista Palace. I returned to the Grand for dessert, cordials and the orchestra - and then to the MK for extra magic with new friends from Maryland. I ended up taking the boat to the Wilderness Lodge and closing the Territory bar, watching football (soccer) with an Irish grandfather and his son who recommended places to go on the Gulf coast. After a late photoshoot around the deserted WL, I caught the 1:45 am bus to Downtown Disney and walked across the street to the BVP.
Even though it's not Disney-owned, here's room 2130 on the twenty-first floor at Buena Vista Palace.

But the rolling table earns points.

http://i40.tinypic.com/es153p.jpg

I know I can’t be the only one who loves seeing pictures of resort rooms at the Disney resorts. It helps me choose where to stay next.
I thought we could start a thread with pictures from your rooms at the Disney resorts (including the Swan/Dolphin and Ft. Wilderness). Please post which resort and as much detail as you remember about the room (like the room number, the view type, which building it was in, etc.). Feel free to posts pictures of the view from the room as well. If you have pictures of the grounds or lobbies of the resorts, there is another thread for those, so please post those there. :)
*An updated index can be found on page 93*
Here are my pictures from the Beach Club. It was a standard view room (# 4702). The view wasn’t great, so I didn’t take pictures of that.

I finally got around to re-sizing my pictures of our stay in a concierge 1 bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Villas. It was #6208 on the 6th floor of Jambo House (the main building).

GREAT pics!!! They really themed them up really well (and I agree with the toilet... needs something...)
BTW... I think that may be Mufassa on the back of the chairs... :goodvibes

Yeah, I couldn't decide if they were going for Mufassa or the grown up Simba on those chairs. But hey, either way it's cute! And it seems funny to want some "theming" in the bathroom, but it really was stark in there with it being a small room with dark brown walls and nothing on them.

My husband and I stayed at POFQ for our honeymoon in August 2009. We had reserved a king bedroom and got a fabulous room on the river. The photos of the room were taken a day or two after we arrived so the room is lived in.

Advantage of the hotel: Even with its closeness to Magic Kingdom and the monorail, there's a feeling of being away from everything.
Disadvantage of the hotel: Check in at the Comtemporary - very confusing. Also, unless you use luggage services, no carts are available to guests to get your luggage up to your room.

We also just got back from a week at BLT. Loved it but may I ask, did you have hot water? Every shower, the water was lukewarm at best. We called maintenance but the problem was never resolved.:confused3 Other than that, it was great!

My DH and I spent 5 nights in a 1 BR villa at BWV this past September and LOVED it. We had a Pool/Garden view, and were in room 3076. I'd love to share some pics of our room:

Thanks for sharing your pics! Do you know if this room is considered a lockoff or dedicated (I get SO confused)? We are booking a 2-bedroom villa boardwalk view for November 28-December 3, 2010 and I was wondering if there would be a connecting door between the living room & studio (the 2nd bedroom). If we couldn't get the boardwalk view, then I would love this room! (We are renting from DVC owner so hope he can call in on 12/28 to grab that boardwalk view!)
