Our room view sucked (can I use that word?) Room 1706 in the Nuie Longhouse. Other than the view we really loved the room.

King Room at CSR - in the Cabana section. We were very close to the pool and the bus stop. The room view was not that great.
We enjoyed our one night stay here.

Do most of the resort come with hook up for an Playstation 2 or XBox 360 game systems? If so that would be cool, cause we have a family of gamers that can't travel without bringing the game consoles.

New here... Great thread, thanks for the help.
I have a challenge for you. :goodvibes Does anyone have pics of a Deluxe Garden Room at the CR? I know it has one king and more floor space than a std room. I was told by reservations that there are only 3 open now because of the north wing being closed. She also said it is sort of J-shaped. Anyone? BTW, it is different than just a view upgrade. Thanks! I'll try to post some of my pics soon.

I don't know if anyone's interested in some pics from the Disneyland Hotel in Paris, but here goes....
We had adjoining ground floor rooms, about a 50 yard walk from the park turnstiles with lovely terrace patios and gardens where the kids could play.

My husband had always dreamed of staying at the Contemporary. It was nice, but I would choose the Poly over it. They were refurbishing it while we were there. It was fun to be right at the monorail, though.
We have chosen the POR for this August. We have 5 so we are somewhat limited on what resorts to choose.

Im sorry if this is a stupid question but what is concierge? I know its a good thing but what is it exactly? Thanks
Concierge is really a higher level of service. There is a planning office with CMs that will help you with your ADRs and any other special things you'd like planned or shopped for etc. You will have a private check in with a concierge floor CM, the rooms are usually on a key access only floor, there is a lounge with bfast and snacks throughout the day. Turndown service is standard. It is a good thing! A bit of extra pampering on vacation. :goodvibes
Dizz - Just a silly question, but we were in BWI deluxe concierge room 3227 and there was a TV in the sitting area in an armoire. There doesn't appear to be a second tv in your little sitting area. Was there a second tv somewhere in 4225??
Thanks,
Lives4Disney :)

Not silly, at all, Lives4Disney, 'cause that's the first thing we said when we walked into the room. :) We didn't really mind because my husband and I like to read when we're not in the parks. Out of curiousity, we ask Jackie, concierge CM, and she told us that is exactly why she put us in that room. She knew from previous stays that we won't mind and actually remembered us saying how much we read when we're having our "downtime". Just one more reason why we love the Innkeeper's Club - they are so attentive! Anyway, Jackie said there is a turn in the building that makes the sitting area angled. With the armoire in there, you can't pull out the sofa bed. It's only that room on the 4th floor that doesn't have the second TV although I'm not sure if it would be the same way in Room 3225 if it's Deluxe. We just love that room and, of course, the wonderful staff. :cloud9:

Dizz42 and Lives4Disney - Question for you?
You both mentioned that you had a Deluxe room. Did Disney qualify it that way and in their qualification did it say "suite"? The reason I'm asking is that I have a Deluxe room booked for Sept BUT it is at the CR and it is not concierge. Just wondering what I can expect. I know the Deluxe CR has more sq ft, (because of the building shape in Garden wing where the room is located) but I didn't expect a sitting room. Do you know if the name of the room implies anything more than that it is bigger? Thanks for any help you can give! Anyone else know?

Dear MarriedMyPrince, The room at the BWI is listed as "Deluxe Concierge" and does not mention "suite". I'm not sure about CR Garden rooms having a sitting area or not. I believe they have "Garden Suites" and pictures of them show they are a really nice size, square footage wise. However, I've never stayed in the CR wings so I can't say for sure. I'm sure our CR experts out there will respond with the correct info. ::yes:: Take care,

:goodvibes
Oh wow sounds wonderful!!! :cloud9: Now only if i could afford a delux hotel!

DH and I stayed in BWI Garden Suite #1208 for our 5th Anniversary trip in December 2005.
DH and I both loved that the quiet pool was just steps away from our front door and also really enjoyed that it was very quiet. We did not like the hike to the Concierge Lounge, even when we took the back stairs up (a super-long climb).
I LOVED the whole resort and thought it was beautiful and elegant. DH thought the theming was boring and wished that the upstairs and downstairs area had more separation.
I would still recommend BWI to anyone because the location and resort were amazing!

These are pics of our room at the Disneyland Hotel on our trip in October 2006. We had booked a pool/resort view with a king bed request. They originally put us in a smallish pool view with king bed next to the very noisy maid station so we asked to be moved.
We ended up in this HUGE, spacious room in the Marina Tower with a view of Downtown Disney. It is the last room on the left side of the 4th floor before the suite at the end of the hall. It was enormous and mostly quiet except for the steel drum band that woke me up from my nap early one evening!
The thing I love the best about Disneyland Hotel rooms are all of the fabulous Disney touches. Staying on-site at WDW is great but it takes the DLH to really make me feel like I am staying in the middle of the magic!!!!! :wizard:

More room magic. This is the border around the top of the room. Tink is in one corner and the pixie dust border extends out behind her all the way around. At night, all of the pixie dust glows in the dark!

BTW, there are no balconies at the DLH. The rooms have sliding glass windows and a narrow strip of concrete between the windows and the railing.

I know! How could you call that boring?? :lmao: I loved our room at BWI and would stay again in a heartbeat. I had originally wanted the Poly Concierge which he pooh-poohed. Then we went to the Poly for breakfast at Kona Cafe one day and he decided he loves the place! We're staying there on our next WDW only trip but will be at the Contemporary in April 2008 when we do our WDW/DCL trip.
And yes, I LOVE the pixie dust border at DLH. I would buy it and put it up in my house in a minute! There is nothing quite like falling asleep at night with pixie dust glowing around your room. :cloud9:
DH told me yesterday that he is taking me to DLR for my 30th b-day in April and we are staying at the GCH. I will be sure to take and post pics when I get back!

I haven't even gotten through half of the pictures, but these are awesome!
I have to say that I hnestly like the looks of the Values the best though. For me, they are decorated nice and gawdy and full of disney decor. I love that. To me thats the fun of being there. I want to have Mickey on my bedspread, etc! Don't get me wrong, I think the other palces are beautiful, but I really wouldn't pay more for something that doesn't have Micky in the theme. I am surprised that they don't even. I'm a dork! I know it!

Does any one have any recent pics of the Value resorts, particularly ASMO? I have seen pics of the suites but am looking for pics of the standard rooms.
Any other value resort pics would be great as well. We're trying to plan a family get together next year and several of our family members can only afford a value resort.
Thanks for your help

We had a 2 bedroom villa. It was actually just a one-bedroom and a studio with a connecting door. Therefore, obviously separate balconies. We faced the front driveway, so we got to see the fireworks from Epcot. But we wanted to sleep with the door to the balcony opened (it was gorgeous outside) which proved to be a mistake because it was quite loud with people returning to the hotel to quite late. It was a Saturday and people were out watching the football game!

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures of the studio side of the room! That had a standard size bathroom which we didn't really use since the boys liked to take a bath in the gigantic bathtub!
I am leaving on Sunday for Saratoga Springs (studio). Will have to take more comprehensive pics! Our first trip to SSR.

I didn't realize that I had never posted my pics from the Cabins in September. We really liked staying there. It worked great for a family with small children. The boys loved the bunk beds! And parking right outside our cabin was great. I didn't like the internal bus transportation within the resort, and I didn't like the pools. Very blah and crowded. But overall, it was great. One night we used the grill outside on the deck and made steaks for dinner. It was nice to have a quiet dinner, especially with the boys all wound up. Also cheaper!

We were at SSR last week, Sunday-Wednesday, just me and my two boys, ages 2.5 and 4.5yo. We loved it! That was our first time at SSR and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very nice and peaceful, which was nice after a tiring day at the parks with two little ones! When we checked in, we had a little surprise. We were selected as the SSR "Family of the Day"! They brought us balloons, took our picture, gave us little buttons. It was cute.
We had a balcony overlooking a pond and fountain which was nice. We couldn't see any fireworks or anything, but not a big deal. We were in 4747 Paddock in a studio, which was about a 7 minute walk to the restaurant and main pool, and a 4 minute walk to the quiet pool and playground. We parked right outside our room practically, just had to go up two flights of stairs (which were closer than the elevator). We drove everywhere, so didn't use the bus transportation nor the boat to DD. It was easy enough to walk to the restaurant/pools without using my stroller. The boys LOVED the interactive play area with the sprinklers. The Artists Palette was fine (quick serve food, groceries, store). The food wasn't amazing, but convenient and okay. I really liked how they had little double-sided easels on the tables for the kids to color while we waited for our food. It wasn't crowded at all.
Our room is the top balcony (3rd floor) on the end.

We had a great time. I'd definitely stay there again. Although, next time in a one bedroom just to make things easier for me after they go to bed so I can stay up without bothering them! And the one bedrooms have laundry too which is convenient. I knew these things but was using my in-laws DVC points and didn't want to waste them on a one-bedroom when it was just going to be me and the boys without my husband or them.

We were only there one night, so my opinion isn't the best. For example, we didn't even look at the pool. BWV doesn't have a restaurant since it's on the Boardwalk. Their "table service" restaurant is Spoodles. We ate breakfast there and the egg dishes are awesome.
It seemed a bit shabbier to me than the other Villas I've stayed in (SSR and BC). The hallways are immensely long. I didn't really care for that for some reason. I also didn't find it a very relaxing atmosphere. Of course, that is really to be expected considering its location. For the location, I'd prefer Beach Club Villas. You can still walk to Epcot, take the boat to MGM, and take advantage of the Boardwalk, but it's a little bit more removed. And of course, BCV has an awesome pool.
Our room overlooked the front driveway and we were able to see the fireworks from our balcony which was nice with two little ones who didn't want to stay in the parks that late.
I didn't think the theming was that spectacular either.

I can't remember our room number, but we were on the 2nd floor, overlooking a courtyard/volleyball court, and not too far from the end of the property. With so much space, and the added wet bar/sitting area, I couldn't believe it was a standard room, but I asked several different CM's, and they said it indeed was. We were very happy, and will definitely go back to the BC!

I'm a dork! I know it!
I agree although my favorite resort is POR. I was going to book a deluxe but went with POFQ instead and glad that I did. No disrespect to anyone who says at a deluxe, but to me, they're all just hotel rooms when you come down to it and we don't spend much time in the room anyway. That said, I am still fascinated by AKL.

The Wl suite with connecting room runs about $1600 a night with all of the taxes and such. The AKL VP was about $2200 a night. There is a big swing depending on season. When we stayed in the WL Suite for the week of Christmas while our new house was under construction it was pricey. Cant take it with you though!!
As a side, when we stayed at the AKL VP the family in the Pres suite, Mom, Dad and small child had been there 21 days and were still there when we left..... I saw him looking at a homes & land real estate guide in concierge!!!!

We loved POR! It's so peaceful and beautiful. We couldn't take advantage of a lot it had to offer (such as the boat or the pool) but the rooms were great...the only complaint I had was the AC made some sort of clicking noise that kept me up, but my brother and cousin said i was nuts because they didn't hear anything.

Are these beds as wonderful as they look? I get sleepy just seeing the pictures! I worry the the S/D may not be as "Disney", but dang, those beds make me think twice about staying anywhere else!
Stayed at the Swan last week. We once again had a wonderful stay!
We were in room 530, east wing facing Epcot, the Boardwalk Villas and the water canal that the Friendship Boats use to transport guests to/from MGM Studios.

I could be the camera angle, but the way that tile is laid out, it looks like the floor is slanting! Of course, I've been up since 3 am. :rotfl:

We stayed in Cabana 9B it was close to everything. We just had a short walk to bus stop, dig-site and Pepper market. DS11 loved the hammock out side our room.

I saw him looking at a homes & land real estate guide in concierge!!!!
wow! thanks for posting those pics!!! I am very curious as to what you and your husband/wife/family do for a living now... (though you don't have to tell me!haha).
What a luxury! thanks again for posting those and who knows, maybe one day I'll stay in them as well! :rolleyes1
