Canadian Pharmacies(Pain Relief)

I was just wandering, what can you get for the best pain relief that you have to ask for at the paharmacy. Being only 41, I have had both my hips done(not replaced), the second not done perfectly the Dr said, and now both are in pain and will be in my lower back too. I have taken Tylonal 1s. What else is out there :confused3 ?

Not much in Ontario.

I find that Aleve, which is a US product helps. Until you can get them, isn't there a product with coedine in it that the phamacist keeps behind the counter?

IF worse comes to worse, get your Dr. to prescribe Tylenol 3.

You can go to the drug store and ask the pharmacist for Tylenol with codeine. Not quite T-3s, but not bad.
Take a browse through the pain relief aisle, there's some good choices there. I wish I could remember what my dad's fiancee likes, but she asks us to bring a box every time we visit...

Sorry to hear that you're not well. Chronic pain can really do a number on you. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't recommended Advil or Motrin. The anti-inflamitory properties of these drugs make them MUCH more effective on muscle/joint type pain than Tylenol (also EXCELLENT for menstrual pain or dental issues). Even regular Asprin is anti-inflamitory. Please try them if you haven't already. Advil Liquid-gels are particularly good as they work really fast. If price is a consideration try any generic or store brand of ibuprophen - which is the same thing.

Disney Ontario, has your doctor put you on any anti-flammatory drugs. If so, you can only take tylenol for the pain. If not have you asked your Dr to prescribe any anti-flammatory drugs you might find that will help along with taking tylenol. I can imagine what you are going there. I am only going to be 38 and I have had my left hip replaced twice in the past 10 year. If you have an insurance policy another thing you could look into is asking your Dr to prescribe a tens machine. I have used one off and on for over 12 years. They are around $800, however some insurance companies do cover them as long as it prescribed by your doctor. My husbands company picked up the entire bill.
