BBA majoring in finance and business law. I am considering going to law school after my undergraduate degree is complete, and I have always had an interest in finance and financial markets. :)

I am a recreation major. I originally chose it because I wanted to work for a cruise line. But after doing the CP, now I hope to work for Disney full-time once I graduate.

I'm an elementary education and English major. I chose education because I love working with kids and I've always wanted to be a teacher. As for the English part? Well, we're required to have a second major with education, and it was basically a process of elimination of what I DIDN'T want my second major to be. I love the education part, but if I had to choose all over, I would probably pick something other than English.

Communication sciences and disorders (speech therapy)
I chose it because I've always wanted to work with kids, but I don't want to be a teacher (my mom's a teacher and having seen what she goes through on a daily basis I had no desire to do that). I had thought about being a doctor, but I'm not a huge fan of science (AP Bio kicked my butt), and don't want to spend that kind of time in school. Someone mentioned speech therapy to me, so I decided to check that out, and I decided I like it, and that that's what I want to do with my life

My major is Communications with a emphasis in Mass Media and my minor is Marketing- hoping to get into Promotion Director. I got into it because I've always wanted to get into the radio industry or the music industry somehow. And in my radio class we had to create a radio station and each of us had a role and I was Promotion Director and fell in love with it!

I actually just graduated about 5 days ago, but my major was Spanish and a minor in International Studies. I was actually going to major in Biology because I love genetics, but I decided I didn't want to live in a lab for the rest of my life. I'm much more of a people person and I also love learning about different cultures. I loved Spanish in high school and decided to care it on through college and I also ended up learning Italian and French as well!

^I'm sure that major grew on you...

Parks, Recreation, Tourism Mangement with tourism concentration and a minor in business. I don't know what I'll do, but I'll prolly stay with Disney for a few years.

I picked it b/c I didn't want to sit in an office all day. I'd rather explore.

DisneyDude, I have no clue yet, lol. Thats still about 3 years down the road at this point. The only place I've considered is RISD, in Providence. I figure its close and while I attend class I can work for the Rhode Island DOT or something boring like that. Any schools you could recomend?

My name is Kaitlin. I love Disney and have been to WDW 12+ times. I just finished my freshman year. I am a psychology major. I chose psychology because I love kids and want to make a difference in the lives of kids with chronic illnesses.

After I graduate, I would like to work with kids and teens in the hospital as a Child Life Specialist. Child Life Specialists try to make a stay in the hospital as normal as possible. They do this by providing crafts, games, therapeutic play, special events, and other fun activities.

Anyone else here interested in working with kids as a career?
Take care,
Kaitlin

I'm a Kinesiology Major, minoring in Spanish. I want to go to physical therapy school after undergrad, so my degree is taking forever with all the prerequisites. If I had it to do over, I would be an Athletic Training major, though. I took an intro course and loved it. Oh well, live and learn :confused3 .

btw your sig is wrong, the number of teens who haven't smoked weed is up to something like 32%; think about it, my religious teens would never touch the stuff or people who come from strict families, anyways its wrong and just letting you know.

It's the thing that a few other people have in there signature. I don't know who started it. I don't really care about the facts. All I know is that I don't smoke pot, never have smoked pot, and never will smoke pot. And I'm proud of it.

My major is Speech Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. I also have a minor in Music. As for why I picked PR specifically, I couldn't tell you. I can say though that I can't imagine myself wanting to study anything else right now. Learning about journalistic techniques in one class and then speech communication techniques in another just fascinates me :thumbsup2

I'm not in college yet, but I will be by August. I'm going to major in nursing. Technically I don't have to declare a major until the spring semester of my sophmore year, but I already know that's what I'll major in.

The main reason I'm choosing nursing is because it's a solid background to go into prosthetics (I want to be a prosthetist not a nurse). I can get all my prereqs for prosthetics through nursing. Plus I figure that if for some reason I don't decide to follow through with prosthetics nursing is always a stable job.

I'm a criminal justice major (about to get my bachelor's in a couple of months!). I picked it because originally I wanted to do all the cool stuff on the tv shows, but then I realized that blood grosses me out (well, that and I passed chemistry by the skin of my teeth). By then, I was almost done and my classes were interesting, so I decided to stick it out. I have no idea what I'll do when I graduate.

Don't work in the school system, do private practice or contract with a hospital. If the schools are anything like they are here in CA, you'll be overworked and under paid,

I just got my degree in Elementary Education, but I am currently in school to get my Masters. I was told if you don't go back to school right away, you lose the motivation. Plus, money is lacking in the teaching profession, so having a Masters will help boost salary. Not that I'm in the profession for the money.

My UG major was Business Administration and I focused in Marketing and Management Science.
Why? Because I was working as an office manager and told that I'd get a big promotion when I completed the degree.... finished the degree, didn't get promoted as promised... quite, then went back to school...

My MS was in Computer Science with a focus in Computer Information Systems.
Why? Because it was semi-business related and I really enjoyed working with computers. I hoped to finished the program and then teach at the community college level, or find a nice programming job. Yeah, that didn't work out either... sucky job market when I graduated. I ended up working as a database analyst at the college I graduated from. Fortunately, they offer tuition assistance, so I figured I might as well work on another degree while I'm here...

Now, I'm working on a PhD in Higher Education.
Why? Because the school is paying for it and I have moved into an administrative position in higher education. I enjoy the working in this environment and figured I needed the PhD to advance any further and get the higher salaries!

I started out as a nursing major. Then switched to elementary education. Now I have no idea what I want to do. I've thought about maybe going into biology with a pre-vet emphasis. If I get into vet school, I'd like to eventually work in a zoo (Animal Kingdom). If I don't get into vet school, I still have the biology degree and could become a zookeeper (Animal Kingdom) and work towards getting my vet tech degree online through Purdue.

Well I am a Pre-Law with a major in political sciences with a concentration in law and legal studies, with minors in History and Spanish. I know it's quite a mouthful. I choose Law because I have always found that subject to be very interesting and after I recieve my Undergraduate degree I want to go to Law school and become a lawyer someday.

I am political science because they make you pick a major and it was something that they recommended. I dont love it but I deal. I would much rather major in History but you can't really do anything with it but teach which i wont do. And it's always good to know a foreign language especially if you plan to study aboard, like me. And besides all that I want to do the college program in Spring 08 and still graduate on time in 09. lol we'll see how i'll do.

My major is Family and Consumer Sciences Education. What the heck is that you're asking? Home Ec Teaching. And I absolutely love it! I always knew I wanted to be a teacher but for the longest time I thought I wanted to teach history. Changed my mind the last semester of my senior year in high school and decided to be an FCS teacher because I had always loved taking home ec classes and history involves too much writing anyway. After one year of school I still think my major is great. I hope to teach mostly sewing/apparel and crafts type classes and a few family and child science classes. Anything but cooking really. What most people don't know is that I can go into a lot of other fields other than just teaching with a little more training because I will already have a background in areas like clothing, family and child science, hospitality, design, cooking, life skills, money management, and all of that fun stuff. I love it! Oh...and I hope to get a second teaching field in social studies by the time I graduate.
