Hi everyong
I am thinking about making a bigger sized frame, holding 5 pictures for my brothers 20 birthday present...We had befriended a 16 year old girl while on our cruise and she just died about a week and a half ago. I have four or five really nice pictures of the two of them and im trying to think of a nice way to display them all on a frame.....(im thinking a 12x16 type size)..
I dont want to just have blank paper behidn the pictures..
The only idea i have is she was friends with the band Maroon 5 and "her" song was "she will be loved"---I was going to take the lyrics to that song and put them behind the pictures...but other than that, i have no clue..
any ideas?

Hey Jen, welcome to our little corner of the DIS! I am really sorry to hear about Alyssa. :grouphug: I know it wasn't a long relationship, but you definitely affected each others lives in a wonderful way. You are truly a special person. :goodvibes
I don't have any ideas, but maybe someone will see it and give you an idea.

I think I can picture what you have in mind and I think it's kind of like a very big scrapbook page. I would suggest going to a local scrapbooking store or a craft store like AC Moore or whatever you have in your area and browsing through the scrapbook paper. Hopefully you'll find some patterns that you like and that would compliment the photos. Once you know what size frame you'd like to use, you can figure out how many pieces of paper you'd need to use as the background. Maybe you'd even create more of a collage type with multiple patterns of paper. Then I'd suggest matting the photos with a solid color behind them - it really makes them pop. You could include the lyrics to the song anywhere on the background. Sometimes I like to print words onto vellum (which is a translucent paper) so that the background paper still shows through. Fool around and indulge your creative side.
After I got married, I made a collage frame for each of my 3 new stepdaughters with wedding photos. I didn't like any of the commercially available collage frames, so I made my own, kind of like I just described. It was pretty simple, but very lovely.
Good luck! I think it's a very special thing you're doing and I'm sure your brother will appreciate whatever you finally come up with.
