I am going to do another 100 days cheat free, trying to get through the summer successfully. Starting today, I am going to journal every bite I eat and stay within my WW points. I am also going to try to follow the WW healthy eating guidelines for # of fruits/veggies servings, 2 milk servings, 2 healthy oils, and a multi-vitamin.

Anyone want to start this journey with me?
My start date is today, 5/15 and my 100th day should be 8/22, approximately 3.5 weeks before we leave for the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon.

color changes (I think we need them more frequently this time -- my willpower has not been very strong, and I need motivation  )

Cam,

I think I will join you. I would like to make sure that I exercise everyday and to stay below a certain number of calories. Today will be the day that I start.

i see this all over this board...the "cheat free days." Does that mean you have no goodies at all...or you include a certain amount of "goodies" with your "new lifestyle" ...
I could never go 100 days without a bit or bite of something yummie...

babywewe -- "cheating" for the purposes of this thread is whatever you decide you shouldn't be doing.

For me, cheating is eating any food without writing it in my weight watchers journal and counting the points. So, for me, going cheat free for 100 days is writing everything down in my journal and staying within my WW points. If I eat something without accounting for it, or if I go over my points allowance (I also use my flexpoints and my activity points) it means I have cheated that day.

Also, some people are trying to go 100 consecutive days without cheating. Some people take days off for special occasions. I am going to go 100 consecutive days. Hopefully, I won't use too many flexpoints on any given day so that if I want a treat, it won't be a "cheat" -- it will be budgeted for and written down. I view the weight watchers plan as promoting that kind of thinking. You can really eat anything you want as long as you are willing to control portions and eat lightly to make up for the splurge/treat.

I hope you will join us. A lot of people say that posting to these cheat-free threads every day keeps them from cheating. They feel support and encouragement and accountability. I know I do! :grouphug:

Okay, so how did everyone do on their first day? I made it just fine. I journaled every single bite I ate. I ate a couple of extra points, but had earned 5 activity points at the gym, so I didn't even need to use all of them. I also had at least 75 oz water. I may try to get that up to about 90-100 oz a day, since I know there are so many benefits to water. I am going to try to avoid coffee after the morning, and since I really don't enjoy it, I'll avoid diet soda with lunch as much as possible.

How about you, dona and jen? How did it go? Be sure to tell me how to update your numbers in the first post. You get the pleasure of reporting in, and I get the pleasure of updating your numbers! :cloud9:

Oh, BTW, I did fine yesterday on fruits & veggies, but have to work on the healthy oils, milk and vitamin things.

Hi Cam-
I did good on my first day...got the water in, im watching what i eat ..i think im going to add in "only eat when im hungry" to my list...and instead of the running program, i am going to make it work on the exercise..i keep getting really bad sinus infections so i cant work out how i would like to, but anything helps!

Cam...count me in... I am doing WW too, and I think that being accountable for EVERYTHING that goes into my mouth is a great challenge. Plus it will help me get to goal faster...so as of today, I challange myself to stay within my WW points, and stick to ALL the good health guidelines(which I normally do anyway). I WILL write EVERYTHING that I put in my mouth in my tracker. It is so easy to eat something and not write it down, and then it's like oh I didn't write it down so I didn't eat it.

Good Luck to everyone!!!

I was actually even thinking of going to WW meetings but the only one close to me is at 8:00am on Saturday mornings and that won't work. :rolleyes2

OK well, tomorrow can be day 1/100. I'll get my Journal out tonight.

Geez, if I could lose 40 pounds before the Half I'm sure my knees would appreciate it!

Thanks Cam for starting this up again, just when I needed it most. (Hey....that sounds like a song....)

HI everyone.

I did great on my first day. I exercised and watched what I ate.

Today I exercised this morning and I was pretty careful with what I ate but I need to lower my calories even more. I did write down everything that I ate and made very good choices. I even went out to dinner with my husband but I shouldn't have eaten all the mussels, but I didn't have pasta only a salad and the mussels and I only had one slice of bread. NO soda and only water with dinner.

2 days down and 98 to go.

Tomorrow may be harder since I have a retirement party to go to and I don't know what they are serving. I set my calorie limit a little higher than I need to lose weight but I did it so that some days I can go out and some days I will eat a lot lower to help me lose weight. This way I have been doing it since last year and it seems to be working.

How did everyone else do today?

Count me in, Cam, but I can't truly believe I"ll make it. I'll be gone in FL from 7/5 - 7/23. I'm gonna try, but may not do so well. So, at the end of today I'm 2/100.

Welcome, Julie! It will be great to have you here! Just think, by the time you leave for Florida, you could be 51 days cheat free! More than 50%!! That would be awesome! :cheer2:

Alright, guys, today will be a toughie. I did grilled chicken on a light english muffin for breakfast (instead of the bagel with cream cheese I really wanted ;) ), so I am on target, at least for the first 3 hours of my day. The problem is that I have a business lunch and then my daughter's final HS wind ensemble concert tonight. So, I will have to get out to pick up a salad for lunch so that I am not tempted to eat something I shouldn't and then I will eat something at work before I leave at 6 for the concert. I will NOT buy anything at the concession stand at the intermission and will eat a sensible dinner when I get home at 9:30. I really am going to try to get in some milk servings today -- probably a mid-morning and mid-afternoon weight watchers yogurt at 1 point each.

I hope everyone else has a great day!

Okay, I am going to try this again and I WILL keep up with it :)

My goals will be to stay within my calorie limits, journal ALL food, and drink at least 64 ounces of water each day. I have actually been doing this really well for the last month (with the exception of our trip to WDW Cam - lol!) so I am hopeful I will be more successful this go-around. Since I have done all of my goals since 5/15, just use that as my start date.

Thanks again Cam - I know how very busy you are and we appreciate the work you put into maintaining these threads!

Oh Cam.... Thank you!

Well, my first day is typical of why this is so hard for me to do. Let me just say...I have a WONDERFUL husband. He's really very sweet and good to me. However...last night I told him all about the Hundred Days. I told him I was starting today. But I was running behind schedule doing stable chores this morning so he made breakfast. This is what I came in to....

Two fried eggs 4 points
Two slices WW bread 1 point
Brummel and Brown 1 point
4 strawberries Free
At least one cup of fried red potatoes with olive oil 4 points
Orange juice 1 point

Thats ELEVEN points! :faint: I said "Umm, honey, I'm supposed to be starting a Hundred Days today". He said "Well, that's not a bad breakfast."

It's half my points for today. HALF!

:rolleyes2

I guess I didn't have to eat it all, but, well, I did.

So, that's over with, and we press on. I have a lunch meeting today. This will be tough. Maybe I need an up-ramp to the Hundred Days. Maybe I can't start cold-turkey. Oh hey and let's not forget we are going out for a birthday dinner Friday night. (Where's the head-banging-against-the-wall smilie?!?!?!)

OK, I can do this. Yes I can do this. :bitelip:

Hi everyone

I would love to join this thread as I really need all the accountability help I can get

I will be going to WDW from 7/8-7/15 though so I will not be participating during those days.

I started on yesterday (my 1st day back from WDW) and did well. Here's hoping for 2 out of 2 :goodvibes

I am on day 3. I think this day is going to be tough. I have a retirement dinner to dgo to today. I had a light breakfast and will have a light lunch. I don't know what they are serving but it is at an Italian restaurant. I'm hoping to take half my main course home today and that should keep me with my calorie total for today.

Good luck Cam. Our band/choir concert was last week. Next week the jazz band will play at a local fair. That will be tough with all the great food they serve there. Well I think I will take it one day at a time.

Good luck today to everyone.

Judy -- Your breakfast wasn't too bad if (1) you eat light for lunch and dinner; or (2) you earn some activity points to help absorb some of those points (barn chores HAVE to earn you some APs); or (3) you use some flexpoints to get through the rest of the day. Don't throw this day away. Take charge of it and make it work for you. My long-time motto has been "every moment presents a new opportunity to do it right". I know our WW leader said last night that next week's topic is "a lapse does not mean a collapse" or something like that. My mentality used to be "oh well, I blew this meal so I might as well eat whatever I want for the rest of the day and start fresh tomorrow." UGH! It took a really long time to change that thought process to "Okay, I screwed that up, but I will work hard to make the rest of the day on-plan."

Not that you asked for a lecture or anything! ;) BTW, give your sweet hubbie a HUGE hug and ask him to skip the potatoes next time! :teeth:

dona -- congrats on coming up with a strategy. Good luck. Thanks to all for the reinforcement on my plan for tonight. Turns out after my 4 point breakfast, I had a garden salad for lunch with a multigrain roll and fat free sundried tomato dressing (5) and just had a lite yogurt (1). Still plenty of points left and I'll eat half of them for a lean cuisine panini before I leave work.

Hope everyone else has a strategy and determination to get through the evening cheat-free! :goodvibes:

Hi, Sharon! So glad you joined us! :thumbsup2 Just let me know your start date -- today? Or yesterday?

I will say that today is my start date. That will bring me to my end of August vacation at the Jersey Shore.

Today has been tough though. Last time I did SB/Low Carb I lost 40 pounds and then Easter hit. Carbs are my enemy. I hope to be successfull this time.

I made a calander and I am putting it on my fridge to mark off the days.

Thanks for doing this.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

I didn't get to eat before work, but came home and made 2 quick turkey wraps on whole wheat wraps before the concert. I brought a 100 calorie pack with me for intermission and when I got home had a panini and some pretzel crisps. So, I am through day 3 and heading to bed to avoid the munchies.

I hope I can do as well tomorrow night at the choir potluck! I'm not even taking anything healthy as I had to bring a Main Dish. This is NM. DD says everyone is planning on bringing Popeyes fried chicken or KFC. YUCK!!!!! Hopefully I can find some veggies/fruit to munch!

Good morning, everyone! How did last night go for you? I should have gone right to bed, but instead, started straightening the kitchen, right when DH's crispy baked fish and fries came out of the oven. I am so weak. I ended up having a bite of the corner of the fish and a few fries. I charged myself for 3 points total against my flex points allotment. I was trying to save the flex points for all other sorts of contingencies that will come up this week, but it was just 3, so plenty left. I did drink lots and lots of water.
Good job on the water, Jen! We'll encourage each other on that! Hey, you are on break from school for another week or so, right? Are you enjoying your days off? I hope you are doing something fun. I'll have to get over to your journal to catch up!

Okay, I'll try to do better today. My firm is a gold sponsor for a dinner tonight. The 60th anniversary of community legal aid. I have no idea of the menu, but one of my friends/partners who is doing WW with me and I will encourage each other to avoid the rich desserts.

Dona -- great start to your day. Awesome pace on the TM! Are you training to do any kind of race? Cause that pace is right on target! Hope you enjoy your day off.

Hi, Rhonda, sweetie! How are you? I hope your day went well yesterday!

Julie -- Have you decided on a main dish for tonight? Can I make a suggestion? One of my favorite "goes further" meals is to cut up a bunch of cooked chicken and mix it with salsa and lots of whole kernal corn for a cold salad. It is really good and pretty healthy and might give you a non-fried chicken option to eat. You can probably add all sorts of other veggies to it. Or maybe serve it in a platter with tortilla chips around the edges. Good luck!

Sharon -- How did your day one go? I think I need a calendar, too. Or maybe just a lock on the closet where I keep the pretzels! I feel as if I am fixated on them -- carb addiction much?

Okay, Judy -- I had every intention of virtual TM with you this morning but overslept. The closest I will get to working out today is the fact that I couldn't bear to put on my heels yet and am wearing my workout socks and running shoes with my dressy suit! :rotfl2: Unfortunately, walking to and from my garage doesnt' get my heart rate up the way it used to! Walking in heels to and from the event tonight will be more of a workout!

Have a great day, everyone!

I had a really good day yesterday...until I got home from a demonstration last night and got the urge for some ice cream...I used 3 flex points for 1/2 cup of light ice cream. I have a severe weekness for ice cream in the summer. I did manage 2 1/2 hours of exercising though so...

I will do good today, I only have 2 more days to weigh in.

Good Luck everyone!!! You guys are doing great.

1 down 99 to go!!!

Day 2 is over so 2/2 :thumbsup2 on the eating by 0/2 on the exercise. I really need to work on that aspect.

Last night for dinner instead of stopping for fast food I made an egg beaters omlet with turkey sausage and light cheese. It was great tasting and filling. The turkey sausage patties were from the frozen section and a great way to lower the fat content without loosing the taste.

Tonight I hope to make parm chicken. I'll use chicken breasts and bake it with a new shake'n bake seasing pouch I found. Also plan on having sweet potato fries and green beans.

I did wake up this morning with a sore throat, itchy eyes, and stuffed head so my allergies are back at it again darn it. Hopefully I won't let this get me down and derail me from making it through the day.

Hope everyone has a great day :goodvibes

Am I too late to join? I'm gonna try and do the exact same thing: Write down every point I eat, drink all my water and try my darndest to eat my fruits and veggies properly.

DF04 -- good job on limiting the ice cream and journaling it. Did you have any APs you could have used from all that exercise to cover your dessert?

Minnie -- That is one of my favorite dinners -- egg beaters are a lifesaver for me. I even like them with lots of salsa and melted fat free cheese (cook the EBs first and then top them so they don't get watery). Your dinner idea for tonight sounds great. I hope you aren't getting sick. Drink juice today, lots of fluids!

Cam - I overslept too. You'll see it in my WISH post.

I've been thinking about this 100 Days. I'd like to start Monday. This is a bad week to start so instead of getting off on the wrong foot, I'll start Monday. But until then I'll hang around with you guys and get fired up! :thumbsup2

I'll pull out a calendar and figure out my hundred days. We are going to Italy in July so I can tell you right now I'm not counting those two weeks! although I will use discretion, it will be my first trip to Europe and I can't see myself eating salads and roasted veggies all week. Not in Italy! :teeth:

I also need to outline exactly what "Cheat Free" means to me. DH wants to be in charge of my "punishment" should I cheat during these hundred days. But, ummm, I don't think so. I don't want to be cleaning out his car and mowing the lawn. Although, maybe that would be a great incentive to do the right thing. ;)

Thanks Cam, for starting this. You're pretty amazing. I can't wait to meet you IRL. :wave2:

Rachel -- Both of your girls are so cute. And great job on the little one giving up the paci! :teeth:

Judy -- Sorry this is a bad week for you. Just let us know when you are getting on board. (I know myself -- I'd spend the next 4 days eating whatever I want thinking I'd get on track Monday. I definitely cannot imagine myself having that much willpower). BTW, I think if your DH is going to punish you for cheating, he should have no say in what he cooks for you! ;)

Okay, so far so good for me (though at work is almost NEVER my problem). I had my 2 pt breakfast and a 4 pt lunch of salad (I also have a few sugar snap peas for a snack later). I should have plenty for dinner tonight as long as I don't eat some decadent dessert.

Honeibee

:cake: Happy Birthday, Judy! party: :bday: Wishing you a rainbow, sweetie! :rainbow:

My breakfast was a slice of low fat turkey (1) on a lite english muffin (1) (high fiber and protein in one meal) with lots of water and coffee with a tiny bit of sugar free flavored creamer and sweet and low. YUMMY!

Well, I wasn't as disciplined tonight as I should have been, but not bad considering the food was so much better than the typical rubber chicken dinner.
spinach salad (tiny) (1)
taste of cream of asparagus soup (2)
chicken in phyllo dough (no stuffing), little gravy (7)
broccoli (0)
tastes of chocolate mousse dessert (3)
macaroon cookie (1.5)
taste of olive bread (1)
tastes of grilled chicken DH brought home from band banquet (3)

15.5 points for dinner + another 3 at home! OUCH! Thank God for flex points. This was one of the meals I was budgeting for. I have another on Saturday and one on Sunday. When you think of it, though, there are 35 meals in a week including snacks and desserts. 3 difficult meals is not that much to survive in the greater scheme of things. Just have to make sure the very next meal is on plan, right? :teeth:

Congrats on getting in all that water, Jen!

Welcome newcomers

Happy Birthday Judy

Here I am on day 5. Day 4 was not too bad. I got my water in, ate below my calories and got in 60 minutes of execise. Who could ask for more.

This morning I did 35 minutes of pilates

Cam I am preparing for a race. I just started walking again this past September. I have had two different sets of bone spurs in the last 8 years. The 2nd set were the worst because they were on the achilles tendon and there is not much they can do. You just have to wait for the tendons to get used to the spurs. My feet started feeling better last summer. My trip to DW last AUg was the best I had had in a long time so for Christmas my present was a treadmill. I wanted to prepare for the 07 DW marathon but financially I don't think we could swing it since my son is going off to college in Sept. So I came up with a plan to get me to the 08 DW half marathon. I am planning to do the 07 Jersey SHore Half marathon next April. If I can do this I can prove to my husband that I can do the DW half marathon the following Jan. (My sister and her husband told the family that they were going to do the DW half biut they didn't follow through and my husband remembers this)

Well everyone have a great day. Hope it goes well for everyone.

I did stay on track for points, and I have to have a good day today because WI is tomorrow. Keep up the good work eveyone!!!

Day #2 down just 98 to go!!!! :thumbsup2

Greetings all! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes!

I've been giving some thought to what "Cheat Free" means to me. So far this is what I have....

- To stay within my WW Points range
- To take my multi-vitamin every day
- To strive to drink 100oz of water a day (Or at least get close)
- To train five days a week
- To have only my occasional planned-on treat

That's what my Hundred Days will mean to me.

How's that sound?

Coincidentally, these hundred days will bring me right up to my WDW vacation in Sept!

3 out of 3 whoohoo :cool1:

Last night I ended up with a bag of microwave popcorn as a snack which is only 100 calories. This is not really part of SBD but it works for me.

Then dinner was 3 strips of the parm chicken, small portion of ww noodles/sauce, and small portion of corn.

I still did not exercise which I have to find a way to get in. I wasn't feeling the best so I used that as an excuse.

Hopefully I will get something in this weekend.

Today is a girls out lunch so I hope to stick with the plan somehow :confused3

The weekend is always difficult so :wizard: please that I make it through.

Cam - I like how your ww plan allows you to buget in days where the best choices might not be available. SBD doesn't have that option. You are either on or off plan with that one.

Judy - :bday:

Great job, everyone!

Judy -- Your plan sounds very ambitious. Are you one of those overachiever types? :teeth: ;)

YUM -- chicken caesar salad! Love it, Michelle! DH made me a huge salad for lunch yesterday with lots of grilled chicken on it. It was so good!

Today for lunch I have a HUGE bowl of cooked broccoli that I dumped 2 ww meals on top of -- they are the garlic broccoli chicken "truth about carbs" meals (3 pts each). So, my lunch is huge and flavorful and only 6 points after another 2 point breakfast.

Minnie -- the flexibility is what keeps me sticking to WW and coming back to it whenever I lapse. I think the core plan may be leaning toward a SBD approach, but I haven't put the effort into educating myself on that plan yet so that I could try it. Maybe someday. Good luck on your girls lunch!

A friend and I are going to PFChangs tomorrow for lunch so I am budgeting for lettuce wraps and the eggplant dish. Tomorrow night we are going to Bugaboo Creek for DH to do a carb load before his marathon on Sunday, so I am going to have to really strategize on what to eat there -- I had thought we'd go on Sunday to celebrate and I'd have that day's allotment of points, but DH wants to go tomorrow, so I will have to re-think the situation. Thank God for flexpoints.

Another problem is DS is singing the National Anthem at a baseball game tomorrow night, and stadium food, especially pretzels are a big temptation. I will ask DH to get me a diet coke and not let me near the concession stand. ;)

I know weekends are rough for everyone, so here's some pixiedust: to WISH you all 3 more cheat free days!

Sounds like you have a busy weekend planned, Cam! You can do it!!

I stayed OP yesterday - potluck wasn't a temptation. I had a bit of salad w/o dressing, a 2x2x1 square of mac/cheese baked, and about a 2x2x2 of white cake - the chocolate would have made me want more. I had 6 glasses of water - probably 8 oz each, and stood for 3 hours of boredom. Oh well....

Good luck with the weekend everyone!

Cam, you can live w/o the pretzels (but they're really a temptation - especially w/ mustard & cheese!)

4 days done!! 96 to go!

I took DD's fav chicken alfredo from Sam's - quick & easy, and it's fairly lowfat for being alfredo. She actually got some, too! And I saved a bit at home for her just in case, but DS19 ate it.

The choices were NOT good - tons of fried chicken, enchiladas, pizza, lasagna for entrees. Sides were Rice & refried beans by the gallons, chips, cheese, about 500 dinner rolls, tortillas(which were probably homemade, but...), Mac & cheese by the gallon. Not a fruit dish to be seen, no jello things, nothing you typically see at Pot Lucks. There were 2 salads from the local pizza place, and I think DD & I were about the only ones to eat any. Everything was high fat, high carb. For under 100 people they had FOUR full sheet cakes and 3 huge tubs of chocolate chip cookies (all of which were eaten).

My manager just stopped by my office to tell me he was sorry but we weren't having a birthday cake for me today as too many people were out so we'd do it on Monday. I said that was fine, but that I would not be having any. I told him about my Hundred Days. He laughed and said it can't be done. Well, I'll show him!

BTW, my manager has SUCH a big belly I don't know how he even kisses his wife anymore.

Not that I think about that much. EWWWWWWWW! :sad2:

Judy - Just a suggestion but could you ask whoever is in charge of the cake to order an angel food cake or something such as that??? I really hate for you to have to miss out and it is so hard to not eat stuff especially when pressured for your birthday. Another idea would be to take your own special dessert to enjoy while they are having the cake. I'm not sure what is on your plan but something on plan might help. I've been there and it's tough.

5/100 for me.

This week has been a challenge and I feel good that I have kept on track. I have exercised everyday this week (since MOnday) and watched what I ate. I even went to a dinner on Wed and the movies on Friday, DaVinci Code was pure entertainment. It is not the best thing ever but it was a good suspenseful movie. My husband, son and I had a good time. We got sold out of one theater and had to go back for another showing an hour later. That worked out well. We got to eat dinner so I got a smaller popcorn than I normally would and just had water. I bought dinner at the food court and asked for it in a take out container so that when I finished half I could just close the lid and walk away. My husband thought I didn't like it. I haven't told him about the 100 days. We'll see if he notices.

Today we are going to a confirmation party and to celebrate we are going to CHarlie Brown's Steakhouse. I checked their menu the other day on line so I have plan in my head.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

I am so starting over just because I like the clippie. Is that vain? It is beautiful though! Thanks disneyfanz04!

Happy late birthday Honeibee!

I am actually sticking to it this time. I promise to myself that. I will:
-eat no McDonalds
-drink no juice or pop
-try to stay under 1800 calories (thank you FitDay)
-stick to healthy choices even when they are hiding and I have to look for them
-and should I fall, I will get on track as soon as I get another opportunity.
-and NO ICE CREAM!

Starting today, in 100 days it will be my birthday :)

Another day down for me....got all my water in and I'm happy!

Today's a bit harder for me. We have a HS graduation cookout to go to for lunch and we are taking the kiddos out for supper and a movie (Over the Hedge) tonight so I gotta set a plan.

I think I'm going to try to eat something small here at the house (maybe a WW meal) and just have whatever fruits/veggies they have at the cookout and then I'll be saved up for tonight with my family. :wizard:

We'll see how it goes! Good luck to the rest of you guys!!!!

4/4 ?????

I am not sure if I get to count yesterday as a cheat free day or not.

At supper I made the choice to have a twice baked potato with my steak as there was nothing else available that was any healthier.

So does that make it cheat free as I selected the best alternative or not???

Hmmm I am not sure what that means to me.

My girls lunch got cancelled yesterday so I had a grilled chicken salad and yogurt for lunch.

It is reschedule for today though at Benigans. I need to look and see what options there are for me there.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I did pretty well last night with a SBD turkey wrap and light popcorn and baked pretzel crisps. Today was PF Changs. We shared chicken lettuce wraps, spicy eggplant and spinanch & garlic. Not too bad. Tonight was red lobster for DH's carb load (everyplace other than red lobster was packed!). We shared shrimp cocktail and lobster pizza and then I had a 1/2 serving of the roasted tilapia and an extra helping of veggies. I also had my tossed salad without dressing. All in all, not bad. So, I am 6/100.

DH mentioned in passing our Anniversary tomorrow, and I reminded him that DD has fencing on Mondays, so I'm waiting to hear if we're going out to dinner tonight, or just forgetting it. I ate light for Breakfast(3) and will try to do the same for lunch just in case.

Okay, 7 days down and only 93 to go :)

It was a relatively good week at least in terms of calories and exercise. I did 2 one-hour yoga classes, 1.25 hours of Turbo Jam, and an hour of pilates. Plus I drank 8 or more glasses of water every day and stayed within my calorie goals. The weekend, as always, was more of a challenge but since I came down with a stomach virus it wasn't as hard today as yesterday.

It is great to see everyone planning their meals and making great choices even when there are so many temptations. Keep up the good work!!

Hey, guys! So glad to see everyone here and working the challenge so diligently! :goodvibes:

Yesterday wasn't too bad since we spent most of the day outside at DH's marathon. I only had bites of DS's fries for lunch since they had no good menu choices -- everything was going in the fryer. ICK! Olive Garden for dinner and I thought I made a great choice, but it turns out the shrimp primavera was 15 points! How in the world could that be? Wish I'd remembered to ask for whole wheat pasta since it would have been a good choice and I love it. Only ate 1/2 breadstick and had salad without dressing, which I actually enjoy.

However, dinner was over by about 3 and I continued to snack most of the evening. Still ate weight watchers snacks, baked pretzel crisps, a weight watchers candy, fat free chips, and a 100 calorie pack of ritz mix. UGH! It could have been chocolate or ice cream or doritos or whatever, so while I am beating myself up, I am not beating myself to a pulp! :teeth:

I also earned MANY APs yesterday for walking 3 miles on DH's marathon course and to the finish and then walking back and forth to various locations where we could cheer him on. We were outside from 6 am until 12:30 and all of that time I was on my feet standing, high-fiving the marathoners, cheering or walking. It was a lot of fun. I have no voice (and have to be in court this morning -- that will be fun!).

I'll check in and update again later! :grouphug:

Well, I had a really bad weekend...my dd had a mother/daughter camping trip with her Girl Scouts and well the rest is history...Saturday on the way down the shore I stopped at the pizza place and had 2 slices of pizza and some fries...UGH...what was I thinking??? Then for dinner I had some BBQ chicken that the girls cooked over the fire...not too bad...then Sunday morning the girls are cooking breakfast and my DD made the pork roll and says mom you have to try it...so I did of course alond with one slice of bacon, and 2 slices of white bread...I haven't had white bread in 16 weeks, and you know what it was nasty!!! Anyway, on the way home from the shore the girls were hungry and so was I so I stopped at McD's and had 2 chicken selects, and a handful of fries...I am so disappointed in myself...they weren't even good??? Oh well, the only thing I can do is put that behind be and focus on what lies ahead. I did make a really good dinner last night...chicken breast, mashed potatoes made with skim milk and ICBINB light, and green beans, then I had a 1/2 cup of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked Low Fat frozen yogurt. So do I start my 100 days over, or do I just not count those two days??? You know what I think I will start fresh, I like the idea of a fresh start.

So as of today I am 0/100...I can do this!!! :thumbsup2

Hi you guys!!! I'm now 4/100 and excited! Went to the graduation party on Sat. and only had fruits and veggies which I counted points for. Went out to eat with the family to MEXICAN (oh the pain - it's my favorite!!!) and JUST had the beef chimichanga there at 15 pts (a lot for one meal but I had saved up during the day for it).

I stayed on points yesterday too!

Hi everyone. Sorrry that I couldn't get here during the weekend. We were at my Goddaughter's confirmation on Sat and my son's graduation from Community College yesterday so it was a busy weekend and there was a lot of places to go wrong. I don't know how I did it but I kept on track the entire weekend. When I totaled my calories for Sat they were in my range and I know that yesterday was also.

I am at 7/100 days so far.

Graduation yesterday was lovely but we got there at 1:30 for a 2:00 graduation and we ended up standing for the entire time. We were lucky. there were 4 goups and my son was in the 2nd group so after he got his phony diploma we walked around and went outside for a breath of fresh air. We then went out to dinner at Applebee's. At least they have the WW specials. I had the steak and shrimp skewers. They were really good, My husband thought that they would not be enough for (Just the shrimp isn't especially when you skip lunch) but the steak and the shrimp are really good, THey came with a great deal of broccoli and a small serving of rice pilaf. All in all a great meal.

On Sat we ate at Charlie Brown's and I had the tilapia. It did come with a cream sauce but not a lot. You could also substitute broccoli for the rice. ALso a very good meal. I also ate their ssalad bar and only had their veg. and some fat free dressing. I ate the entire meal because I also skipped lunch this day. I did have a very very small piece of cake. I'm glad it was small, the icing was great (one of my favorite parts of a cake) but the cake was dry.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm off to teach the rest of my classes and then a blood pressure checkup and grocery shopping before I head home. When I get there I think I have some plants that need to be planted.

Have a great day.

Today I did very well so far, having oatmeal with maple syrup (5 points) then a Kashi bar (2 points). I'm about to have a salad which is mixed greens (free) with 1 point of cheese. Then an orange for dessert (1 point). I think we're doing veggie burgers and a vegetable for dinner.

Doing OK so far! :thumbsup2

Well good morning everyone.

I finished 8/100. How is everyone doing? Today is a challenge because they are doing the monthly birthday thing in our department. At least I have to walk a ways to get to the food. I brought in pineapple and grape kabobs. No one brought in bagels so I had a piece of danish because I hadn't eaten breakfast. I will have to watch it the rest of the day. Someone else brought in an apple and cheese platter so that should help. I also have a low cal soup for lunch to counteract things. I don't know what I am doing for dinner. It may just be pasta but if it is I may stop and get a spaghetti squash for myself and use that for pasta. That really cuts down on the calories.

I worked on my arms and legs this morning and I need to get on the treadmill this afternoon.

Good news from the doctor yesterday. My bp was at 130/70 in both arms. When the nurse took it it was pretty high but that is the numbers the doctor got. THe doctor felt that I may have been having a PVC which makes things difficult to know when the bp is changing so that is why the nurse was having a different reading. I was very happy about this since I changed medications lst month.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

8 days DONE!!! Gee, that's approaching 10%!!!!! :cool1:

DD decided NOT to go to fencing last night as her allergies were bad. So, I called DH to see if he wanted to go out to eat (24th anniversary). He wanted me to meet him so he didn't have to drive the extra 10 min home. Ok. Went to Copelands. It has been so hot I didn't want anything heavy, so had Caesar Salad w/ no croutons, dressing on the side & grilled shrimp. Could have used more lettuce, but was a smart choice, and only about 7 points. I also drank 60 oz water while there. DH had some huge thing of fried pork loin pieces, angel hair pasta a creamy sauce & rolls. Plus 2 hurricanes. He proceeded to hassle me from the time we ordered until we hit the parking lot because I wasn't eating enough. PLEASE!!!!!!! Very Irritating. I was satisfied, felt good about my choice, stayed on plan yesterday and that's what matters.

Then off to Circuit City to get the new laptop. That saga I'll save for my journal, but suffice it to say I had the college age sales girl practically rolling on the floor laughing.

I'm trying to be extra good and learning that I can stay on this even with 22 days in FL coming up. Time will tell.......

Julie, That's funny because my husband questioned me when we went out on Friday and on Sunday. On Friday we were going to the movies. THe 6:30 show was sold out so we bought tickets for the 7:30 and went to the food court to eat. I had white rice, veg and terriyaki steak.. It was very good but I knew that I didn't want to eat it all so that I could have popcorn. I got the order not on a plate but a take out carton. When I finished half I closed the box. My husband asked if there was something wrong. I said no I had enough. He proceeded to eat all his chinese and then had a hugh thing of popcorn and soda while I had the smallest popcorn and a water. I felt very good about myself.

On SUnday we went to dinner to celebrate my son's graduation from community college. I ordered the WW steak and shrimp skewers at Applebees. When it came my husband looked at it and thought it wouldn't be enough food for me. I said no it is just right. He had a hugh cheeseburger, fries and mozzarella sticks. I also came out of that night feeling good about my choices.

I am doing this journey for no one else except me. I have lost almost 30 pounds and my husband and sons have yet to comment on it. All my friends at work have said something and a couple people in my family have but not my husband and sons. Yes it bothers me but I am doing this for me and my health. THat is what is important. Good numbers on my bp are what is important to me. I know that I am doing everything right for me.

Keep up the good work. DOn't let the turkeys get you down.

Hi, everyone! Sounds like you are all doing great! I am so glad to hear that you are working so hard for yourself and your health, Dona. I am convinced that we shouldn't depend on others to ratify our behaviors if they aren't the ones to suffer the consequences or feel the benefits of what we do. DH is incredibly supportive of me and will only remind me to "be good" if I ask him to do that in an upcoming stressful situation. I really appreciate that. And he never tries to tempt me with anything I shouldn't have.

I had a very rough night last night. DB and his family came over and brought 4 LARGE pizzas for 8 people, including one he had "specially made" for me -- plain pizza dough with tons of spinach and broccoli and topped with "plops" of ricotta cheese. I ate 2 whole pieces minus a lot of the ricotta. I have no idea how to count this but charged myself 7 pts/slice, which is probably high. I also had about 1/3 piece of cheesesteak pizza that DS didn't want, plus some cheese and some crackers and chips. I used up every last FP I had for the week except for .5. How pathetic is that? Today is WI, so I am still cheat-free, but I am disappointed in myself for not handling the situation with more discipline.

BTW, I KNOW you guys will understand this very funny story: DB and his family left early enough that DH and I could have still made the 8:45 showing of DaVinci Code, which we had planned to see. However, by that point, I had gone so far over on my daily points, that I told him I didnt' want to go to the movies. The real reason? I wanted movie popcorn (no butter) and knew I couldn't "afford" it, points-wise. So, rather than going and being tempted and surely failing, I went to bed with a book. Pathetic, right?

Anyway, I am at 8/100. I am hoping the coming week brings some days that I can actually feel good about in the end, like Julie and Dona.

So, how did day one go, Judy? Can't wait to hear. Hope it was a :) kind of day for you!

Jen -- So happy to hear you got through day 2 successfully! I know how hard it is with your schedule, so kudos to you kiddo! :thumbsup2

Hi, Rhonda! How is it going sweetie? Just think how great you are going to look for your cruise, and how much easier the full marathon is going to be for us if we do great for these 100 days! :cloud9:

I had an awesome day yesterday!!! I wrote everything I ate down, and stayed OP. I had an egg salad sandwich for breakfast with a cup of FF milk, for lunch I had a tuna sandwich and a cup of FF milk, for dinner I had 3 oz. chicken, and 3 cups of broccoli, and then as a snack I had a bag of popcorn(actually only half a bag, dd had some with me) I also took my vitamin, had both my oils, both my milks, and had 128oz of water...needless to say I thought I was going to float away, and I think I went through a whole roll of TP myself yesterday!!! :lmao:

Anyway, I am so glad to hear everyone is doing so well.

Okay, this totally stinks. Apparently the server was too busy and I navigated away before my very lengthy thread posted. UGH!

As I was saying . . .

Michelle – Now THAT is a day to be proud of. That is what I am aspiring to. You followed all the WW guidelines, drank plenty of water and made awesome meal choices. You must be very proud of yourself. :cheer2:

Today’s eating has been better so far:
B: light english muffin (1) with one slice light turkey (1); coffee with sugar free creamer (1)
L: green salad (0) with 1 cut up slice light turkey (1) and ½ packet fat free dressing (.5); shortbread sandies 100 calorie pack (2)

As you can see, I do fine when I am at work. I even just went cruising my food drawer for something to eat and there are only good choices in there, and in limited quantity, which really helps. The reality is that I am seriously addicted to carbs – maybe it was eating pasta 3 nights/ week when I was growing up? :confused3: At night when I get completely out of control, I go for the pretzels and fat free chips – not chocolate. Not ice cream. Not cake. Isn’t that pathetic. I know I could be doing a lot more damage than I am if I were a chocoholic, for example, but that really doesn’t address the issue of what I am going to do about this incessant craving for carbs. I seriously think I am going to have to consider going cold-turkey in some fashion. Not the Adkins route, by any stretch, but some compromise.

What do you think?

Cam I know what you mean about the carbs...after the weekend I had I thought I was on carb overload!!!(insert smiley rolling on the floor...smileys do not seem to be working for me) I think maybe you should try cutting them out for a week, and like you said not ALL carbs...like the ones from whole wheat pasta & bread, and from fruits, but the snacky ones. I really had a hard time last week with my choices...one day I really didn't feel like making lunch, so I had to 100 calorie bags of doritoes in place of the tuna sandwich that I was going to make...I was like oh well they are both 4 points, and I rather have the chips...also I think I am going to try and do a menu and only grocery shop by that menu. I found myself in the store buying light snacks and stuff instead of planning meals for myself. I have come so far and now I am coming to that halt. I let myself cheat while in WDW for the MINNIE, and now I am having a hard time staying OP, but I really want to be at my WW goal of 145lbs by my birthday, so I am really going to have to make these 100 days count.

My weakness is ICE CREAM!!!! I love ice cream in the spring/summer time, and even though I buy light ice cream, I eat it a couple times a day, so I have decided if I really want some, then I will stick to buying the little pintswhich only have 4 servings instead of the 1/2 gallons which have 14 servings!!!(insert wide-eyed smiley here)

Cam...we can do this together with all the help of the WISH team...and you know what we have to do it if we plan on crossing that finish line for the FULL!!!(insert teeth grin smiley here)

Well day 9 is over and I am on day 10. I didn't start out the day too well. I woke up at 2 this morning and didn't get back to sleep until 3. I layed in bed an extra half an hour this morning when I should have been exercising. I really need to make time to do it this afternoon. My husband and son are not going to be home for a couple of hours because they are putting flags on graves at a local cemetery so maybe I could do something then. Eating so far today has been good but I am really hungry right now. There is some fruit in the math office so maybe after homeroom I can go over and get some.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Hello everyone! :sunny:

Today is Day Three. My first two days went remarkably well. :thumbsup2 Even yesterday when I was home sick (bronchitis) I stayed OP. The first day I lost three pounds! I know it was just water weight but who cares! It looks great on the scale and was very encouraging. But this morning I gained back 6/10th. We have a very annoying digital scale which tells you down to the tenth how much you weight. OK I don't need to get THAT crazy about it I guess.

But so far, so good. :teeth:

Oh and Cam! Check this out! On Monday my manager had a delayed suprise birthday party for me and they had not one but TWO HUGE CAKES and my FAVORITES KINDS too! And.....I didn't even have a taste! I swear I was tempted but I thought of you and I said "No thanks". So, even know you didn't know it, you were there for me when I really needed it! :goodvibes

Oh, sweetie! I am sooo happy for you. Congratulations on your victory over that HUGE challenge! I am so glad that you thought of us and this challenge to get you through. (I did the same thing last night when I wanted so many treats at the movies and afterwards!) I know a lot of people say you could have had a small piece and all that, but you absolutely HAVE to do what makes you feel victorious! Only you will get the satisfaction or disappointment from whatever you put in your mouth. A lot of people budget their WW points for just such occasions, but I know that sometimes it is hard to be disciplined once you've "given in" a little.

So, I, like you, am "being good" because I LOVE sharing with all of you the accomplishment of each day I get through successfully. Thank you so much for sharing with us and congratulations again!

Hey, guys, we are all in this together -- one day at a time, right? Personally, I can't wait to get to 10%!

Julie -- good luck with WI tomorrow. :wizard:

Dona -- great job on 9 days!

Sharon -- I admire your strength in overcoming the nighttime munchies. I really, really need your discipline!

Hey, Michelle! How is it going, kiddo? :cheer2:

So, where are Jen, Jen, Rachel and Rhonda? :teeth: How are you guys all doing? We miss you! Come and tell us all how you are doing.

Hey, Minnie -- How are you feeling today, sweetie? I hope you are home and resting comfortably. pixiedust:

Cam...I am doing GREAT!!! I made it through day two!!!! I even got out to walk yesterday, and today!! WOOHOO I feel so much better after I walk...anyway, How are you doing with the munchies??? I did have some ice cream yesterday, bu I did account for it, and I didn't have to use FP for it, so that was good. This is starting to get a little easier after being so strict on myself the past two days...I hope the scale shows me some encouragement on Saturday as well. I hope to lose 3lbs this week, which will put me at 175lbs....WISH me luck!!!

Honibee...GREAT JOB on the "no thanks"!!!!!! You are awesome!!! :woohoo: I LOVE cake and do not know if I would have had the same will power as you!!! You deserve a "BRAVO"(all the WW people know what they are :teeth: )

I am doing well also - thanks for asking Cam :)

I had another couple of good days. I still have enough calories left tonight for a small ice cream sandwich - yummy!! Still have to finish up my 8 glasses of water today but I only have 2 left so I should be fine.

I started my latest stage of weight loss accountability on 4/19 when I started using sparkpeople.com to track my calories, exercise etc. I lost almost 8 lbs. during that month and lost 2 INCHES in my waist :Pinkbounc So it has been a good month and I am hoping for more of the same this month.

Tommygirl - I do like Turbo jam so far. I have only used the dvds a couple of times but it is a nice change from the yoga and pilates that I generally do. It is fun with good music and dance moves and wasn't too hard for me to learn. I ordered it from QVC last month since I heard such bad things about beachbody's billing practices and got it very quickly and for a good price.

So Cam - count me in for 10 days down and 90 to go!

Can I join the challenge? I really need this. I've been on WW for 10 weeks and only lost 4 lbs. I can't stop cheating! I lost 200 lbs a few years back with diet and exercise. I now need to lose over 100. Two years of fertility meds and a pregnancy put that weight back on.

I didn't cheat today. So I'm 1 day down 9 to go for the first mini goal!

scifihippie Welcome

Minnie I hope you are feeling better

You too Judy

Rhonda congrats on the weight loss. I love sparkpeople also. It makes it very easy to keep track of your calories and exercise. I have been doing it religiously since I started this challenge.

I am now done with 10 days. I did get a walk on the tm yesterday. 30 minutes for a distance of 1.83 mile. I was at a 16.48 pace which I am very happy about.

This morning I did some interval training with strength training and aerobics. I;m glad I go it in but I have been in a rotten mood since I woke up and nothing has been able to change it. I got into the shower this morning and there was no shampoo at all so I had to get out and get some but there were 5 empty bottle sitting next to the tub. When are the guys in my house going to learn to pick up after themselves.

THis evening is going to be a big challenge. My sons are playing with the local high school's jazz band. My younger son is a sophomore and my older is our of hs but the band director invited alumni to play tonight. It should be fun but it is going to be a great temptation not to eat any otf the great food, especially the strawberry shortcake (they don't call it the Strawberry Fair for nothing) I think that I will eat at home and then video tape the jazz band so that my hands are busy. I don't go on any of the rides so I can get there just before they go on. With the mood that I am in (and it doesn't seem to be getting any better as the day goes on) I had better stay away from any and all temptations

I hope everyone is having a better day than I am. Keep up the good work. Some of us at the 10% mark. We can do this.

Today is Day 4 for me and so far so good, except for last night. We went out for Chinese and by the time we finally got there I was starving! I was planning on a simple vegetable and tofu soup but instead had a fried tofu dinner. Although I did not exceed my Points I could have made a better choice.

Michelle - Thanks for the Bravo! :goodvibes I have to admit, it was not easy, but the happiness of NOT having any way exceeded the momentary joy of eating it.

Julie - Thank you too! Wow! 10% done already! :thumbsup2 You're doing fab-u-lous!

Dona - Thanks! I feel much much better today! :teeth:

Judy, I love tofu! In fact, I'm having it for lunch today. I made a tofu/stirfry last night out of the WW cookbook and I'm having leftovers today.

Dona, good luck at the strawberry fair. Hopefully they'll have lots of fresh, plain strawberries you can eat and fill up on.

Day 2. I'm doing okay. Mornings are easy, it's the evening that is hard.

I dreamed about plates and plates of chewy, warm, chunky chocolate chip cookies. I was so tempted in my dream and I passed it up. I was so proud of myself. Then I woke up and was disappointed that it was a dream b/c I could have eaten them all! :rotfl:

Hi, everyone! Congrats to you all, whether you've hit 10% or gotten through that very difficult first day or many. :teeth:
I had a seminar today, and rather than eat lunch at a restaurant, I packed a lite lunch and ate in my car while I read a book and listened to the EPCOT Millenium CD. I also returned calls for work and went through my emails with my secretary, but the point is I didn't cheat. AND, they had my very favorite -- butterscotch pecan scones -- at the seminar this morning and I just had a coffee and water.

I had a very exciting non-scale victory today when I guy I knew 16 years ago came up to me, put his hand on my shoulder and said "Gosh, you look great, C------, you really do." Let me tell you, any thought I had of eating a scone went right out the window! :goodvibes: I actually wrote the quote in my journal for today. That is how good it made me feel.

Okay, off to home for a quick dinner before DD17's senior academic awards program. I am thrilled to report that the committee I was supposed to work with tonight on after-prom decorations will go on without me. Not a SINGLE one of those other moms has a student receiving an award tonight. It almost made my heart sing to tell them I had to stand them up tonight. I'm a meanie, aren't I? I am so outrageously proud of my daughter.

Well 4 days down with just 96 to go. I actually had a very good day yesterday as well. Last night I went to a Kenny Chesney  concert, and my DSIL & her friend wanted to go out to eat before we went so they told me to meet them at Olive Garden...well, since WI is Saturday I opted for a salad, 1/2 of a breadstick, and some potatos(the cut up ones that are about 2 points for 3oz.) I did have two of the mints that they give you with the check, but I had 14 points saved for last night and don't think that I used 10 of them on dinner. I did however have a Bryers Light Fudge Bar when I got home last night...my throat hurt so bad from screaming, and the ice cream made it feel good...and they are only 2 points...so I went to bed with 2 points left.

You know I thought the past couple of days were going to be difficult because my DH called me from his best friends house on Tuesday, and said that he had enough of his boss and him and his best friend(which happens to be the manager) walked out of the store...after 15 years...I knew it was coming, but I was still in shock that they finally did it. DH's truck is also not running right now, so he has no vehicle, no job....OMG...talk about some stress eating...but I have managed to control myself. He already has a new job and starts Tuesday, with way better benifits, more money, and now he will even have Saturday & Sunday OFF!!!! He will be gettinga nice check from his profit share that they had, so I think when we go to do the Marathon in January we will treat ourselves and stay at one of the deluxe resorts...I know he has been wanting to stay at AKL, so maybe we will give it a whirl.

Anyway, CONGRATS Cam for the compliment...isn't it such a confidence booster when someone actually notices...it makes you feel so good!!! Tell DD great job!! You should be so proud of her!!! I am so proud of you for passing up the scones!!! I know it must have took some major will-power!! BRAVO!!!

DONA...how did you do at the Strawberry Fair???

Honibee...Great job for at least staying ion your points!!! You are doing a great job...KEEP IT UP!!!

Confession time......I didn't blow it last night, but I used some FP's. Waiting up for DS19 to see if he would ever show up, I suddenly had to have protein. Ate 2 ff hot dogs & 2 pts of turkey - so used 4 FPs. Quite possibly PMS approaching. I'd lowered my daily points by 2, so that could have been an effect also. Anyway, still well on track, but can't make a habit of this - I usually never use any FPs or APs, and I'm sure I earned APs 3 - 4 yesterday.

Well, after mid-day today, I might not get back here to update until Sunday night, depending on how crazy life is. We are doing a 5-mile race out of town tomorrow and barbecuing with friends on Sunday. Can't wait to hear how well everyone does this weekend!

Well, last night was tough. I was home alone and it seems like everything that I shouldn't eat was calling my name. :rolleyes2 I did just have a salad with feta, but I put in extra feta. I too - like Julie - don't normally use AP or bank, but well, guess I did last night.

However, I'm still doing OK.

And here is the best part - I lost four pounds this week! OK, it's not much but it's a start!

Melissa - Being a vegetarian, I eat a lot of tofu. I love it too! I make a lot of stir-frys with it. You're funny about your dreams. Amazing how we start dreaming of food when we are doing this, isn't it? :teeth:

Julie - Don't worry. Today is a new day. :flower3:

Cam - Wow, what restraint. :thumbsup2 What a great job you did. I agree, it is worth all this when you get comments like that. But mostly it's worth it all when you feel so good about yourself. You're doing a fabulous job! :cheer2:

Michelle - STOP THE PRESSES! You saw Kenny last night???? I LOOOOVE ME SOME KENNY! :cloud9: Oh oh I saw him in Albany a year and a half ago. DH actually proposed that night, during my post-Kenny haze. OMG he was so awesome! Kenny, not DH. OK DH is too. :teeth: We saw Tim twice last year. They are both so great. No money in the concert fund this year (It all went to that extra WDW vacation we're taking in January... )

Good morning everyone.

I made it through day 11. The strawberry fair went okay last night. My husband got a strawberry shortcake and I only had one bite of it. I did get a snow cone but I didn't finish it because it got cold so I bought a cup of tea and watched the high school jazz band and choir perform. All in all a pretty good night for me. I did stay within my calorie limit and I got my exercise in and my water. So far so good.

Today I have to exercise when I get home. I just couldn't do it this morning. I will do some yoga this evening. My eating and water for today have been pretty good. Today is senior cut day in my school. First period I had 5 juniors and a senior who wanted to study for Wed's test. 2nd period I started the period with no one and then 4 people came 5 minutes late. It should be interesting the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. I have to know what I am going to for my birthday on Monday. I asked my husband for a lounge chair with a cushion so I hope that I get it. I never really ask for things for my birthday but I really want this chair so that I can sit outside in comfort.

Have a great Memorial Day. Remember all those who have given their lives for us.

Judy, I'm a backsliding vegan. :guilty: When I got pg, all I craved was meat and dairy. Totally my DH's baby! Now I'm getting back to being vegan slowly.

Cam, You did great! It's wonderful to hear those compliments, it's fuel to keep going.

Dona, You made me crave strawberries with your talk of the festival. I ate about a 1/2 pint this morning with my yogurt. Good job at the fair.

Julie, I try too not to use FP. But that's what they are there for, to cover you when you need that little extra. You made great choices. Me, I'd probably been eating candy or icecream and still want more.

Michelle, looks like you had a great time. Nothing like jumping up and down and screaming at a concert to get some activity in.

Day 3 for me. I lost 6.8 lbs yesterday at WI!! WooHoo!! :woohoo: It's motivation for me to keep on track. I have a girls night out tonight and am dreading having to make food choices.

I would love to join you all and have 100 cheat free days. I have been doing ww for 9 months and have lost 18 pounds. When I discovered the wish thread, I joined the ww weighin post and made a diswish challenge, and for the last week I've written down everything I've eaten. I did use all 35 flex points this week, plus an additional 18. :sad2: I know if I didn't keep track of what I ate, it would have been far worse.

I weigh in tomorrow, and would like tomorrow to be my first cheat free day of 100. I plan to track all I eat, and stay with in my ww points.

You all sound like you're doing great and are very inspiring. I'm looking forward to the next 100 days.

It helped for a little while. THis morning I did 50 minutes of yoga hoping to calm down. I think this is the state I will be in for the next year. HI, everyone! Great job to everyone who is working this challenge so hard! :cheer2:

Welcome Kathy (mikamah) and su3gs! So happy to have more challengers.

Well, guys, I must confess that I haven't yet figured out if I blew this challenge yesterday. I had a 5 mile race and we walked an additional 3.5 miles to and from our car and the start line, on the boardwalk, and then from the finish to our car. But I was voracious the rest of the day and ate too much. I am going to journal it all and figure out if I used up all my FPs for the week or if I went over. I hope to be on track with 13 days done -- IF I didn't blow it.

I'll update everyone's numbers, add our two new buddies and come back later to fix my number or confess my transgressions! :teeth:

ETA: Okay, I just journaled all my food and it looks like I went over by 24 points (OUCH!) but I earned 8 APs at my race and with all the additional walking. So, I didn't even use all my FPs for the week. Thank God, since we are socializing again today and tomorrow, both days in situations where I have no control over the menu. Thanks for keeping me accountable, friends!

I also only got 1 milk, but I did have some frozen yogurt...not sure if that counts as a milk or not...Anyway, I hope everyone is doing good, I have a BBQ to go to later, so WISH me luck!!!

Well I am now done with 13 days. Congrats to all those that are still trying.

Cam I'm glad that it worked out for you.

Tomorrow may be hard since it is my birthday. It all depends on how things go. Mother's Day left me not very hopeful for my birthday. (I got a present that wasn't wrapped and no card from my sons. The present was the topper because they gave me a bracelet and I don't wear jewlery and my husband even reminded them of this before they bought it. I have put in my request for my birthday present so I hope I get it. I don't buy myself very much because we have one son in college and another one going in in two years so I try not to buy things so birthdays and Christmas are important for me.) I have to think positive. I will report back tomorrow.

Today is going okay. I have to work on fruits and vegs for today but that will fit in with the barbeque chicken I am making for dinner tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day. See you tomorrow.

Cam, I'm glad it all worked out for you. And Congrats on all that walking!

Dona, Happy Birthday!! :bday: Today's my bday too! I told my DH I wanted him to wash, dry, fold, put up all our laundry for my bday. He's got his work cut out for him b/c we have about 7 loads to do. ;)

On day 6. I used all my FP on our girls night out on Friday night. I had two glasses of wine, a few pinwheels, salsa/chips and two triangles of a quesadilla. Let's hope I can make it to Thurs w/o having those extra FP to count on.

Happy Birthday scifihippie :bday: My husband is upstairs trying to fix our toilet. We have another one but the one upstairs is easier to get to at night. He also spent the day looking for a loungue chair with a cushion. Who would have thought that it would be so hard to find one. My sons learned from MOther's day and there were cards and wrapped presents. I got dvds, Mr Mom, Pink Panther (origninal) Guys and Dolls and Yours MIne and OUrs (original) all saome of my favorites. It's great to have fun movies to watch now that everything is a rerun on tv.

I am still on track and just finished day 14. Hope everyone else is doing okay.

And I told them that would be fun!
Sending :grouphug: for both of you. Hope you are having a fabulous day!
Dona -- so glad your family tried a little harder for your birthday. Their gifts sound like very thoughtful choices!

As for the challenge, I am through day 14! Can't believe 2 weeks are done. This week will be a killer because of all our houseguests, taking them out to dinner, making lots of good foods and celebrating graduation. Will have to work really hard to earn APs and save FPs to cope. Wish me luck!

Hey all,

Hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend. It was challenging, but I did ok. I used 27 FPs at a cookout sunday, but the food and wine was delicious. If I hadn't drank so much, maybe I could have earned a few APs like Cam. Luckily I worked today and wasn't tempted. We do have a drawer at work with candy in it, and I opened it a few times, and then thought of how great it will feel when this 100 days is up, and closed it again.

Hooray- day three cheat free. Only 97 to go, but when those 97 days are up, it will be less than 3 months til WDW!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Dona and Melissa.

Thanks all. You keep me going. Have a great week.

Dona, I'm glad your family came through and you had a great birthday.

Minnie, :grouphug: I hate that backsliding feeling. But, you're back today and it'll just be better this week!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It was my first bday ever that I didn't have cake. And you know what? I didn't even miss it! :thumbsup2

Well, DH didn't finish my laundry bday present b/c he got sick and so did my 6 month DS. I spent half of my bday (the 6p to 6a half) wide awake, no sleep, cleaning up sick and rocking DS. Thank goodness they are both asleep now and I'm treating myself to a 2pt WW ice cream cone!

I made it though yesterday okay. I've decided to watch my calorie intake and try to make the best choices I can. I did SBD the last 2 years lost during the summer and gained back big time over the winter so that just doesn't seem to be something I can stick with.

Hi, guys!
Sorry I have been MIA. :guilty:
Life is crazy with DD17's prom tomorrow night and graduation Sunday.
Soooo much going at work and today is my last day until Tuesday since DD's friend is flying in from Texas for the weekend.
I will try to check in occasionally over the next several days to update everyone's progress. Keep up the great work! :thumbsup2

Good Luck to all.

I did not do well at my cookout yesterday. I had some chip and dip and kept track, and ate steak and salad, and potato salad, and would have been fine, but then I had a second serving of potato salad, and when the delicious ice cream pie came out, I definitely finished my flex points for the weekplus some, so I guess yesterday is a wash for me.
I don't want to give up though and will will skip a day when i lose it. I had no flex points left for today and just finished a salad for dinner and have no more points today. I'll just stay on the disboards and out of the kitchen, so this can be day 6.
Do you all plan 100 consecutive days, or take some off? I don't want to plan any days off, but it happens.
Hope you all are doing better than me, and hopefully tomorrow will be my 7th cheat free day.

Welcome everyone New and Old

I am just finishing up day 19. I just found the time to record all my eating over the last three days. We had a luncheon for the school staff yesterday and I have been working since Monday with the committee. I made 4 batches of brownies, and helped make 3 crockpots filled with pulled pork. I spent yesterday morning cutting fruits and veg for platters. It was a big success. I did okay with my eating. I stayed mostly with salads and had a tablespoon of potato and macaroni salad and just a spoonful of the pulled pork.

My exercise has been light over the last two days but I have still done some every day.

In less than two weeks I will be out of school and I have just a 3 day class to look forward to at the end of June. NOthing else in sight. I am thinking about a trip by myself but I haven't made any plans yet

I hope everyone is having a great week. I hope that Cam has good weather for her daughter's prom and graduation.

Check in soon adn keep up the good work

Hi, everyone! So glad to hear that you are all doing so well! As I expected, I am in a position where I cannot say that any of the last 5 days were cheat-free. On Thursday, I did well with a lean cuisine pizza for dinner instead of the pizza I ordered for the prom goers. Then, I went to DS's boy scout court of honor and end of year picnic and did pretty well with food choice (even though I ate krimpets instead of a cheeseburger or hot dog!). But then I worked on after prom until after midnight and was back at the school at 3 am to clean up, and I did eat some pizza and some pretzels. Decided that since that happened after midnight, I'd count the points toward Friday, so that Thursday could count as cheat free.

Friday wasn't too bad until we went on a dinner cruise and I ate smart choices, but too much. Saturday was a lot of running around and culminated in dinner at our favorite nice restaurant with my in-law's and DD's friend who came in from Texas on Friday. We didn't eat dessert at the restaurant but celebrated DFIL's birthday with cake and pie when we got home. UGH!! Sunday was graduation and wayyyy too much food at my house afterwards. Yesterday all I had was a bagel with cheese and by the time we got to dinner I was starving. We ordered nachos and an appetizer sampler for the table and I didn't order anything else. I stuck with water and didn't eat when I got home last night. So, yesterday was probably within points, but I am going to write off Friday-Monday. Bummer. So, I am at 18 days as of 6/1 and am on track again starting today. Of course, it helps that I have no appetite at all and haven't wanted breakfast or lunch. I am planning on tomorrow being 20% for me.

Sorry, guys. Hope I haven't let you down. I will get everyone else updated. I am so proud of all of you. Looking forward to following your examples and getting firmly back on track!

Oh, and here are a couple pix from DD17's prom and graduation:

As for me well I started back on plan yesterday. I went to the store and tried to set myself up for success at work at least and it has worked. I did very well yesterday and I am on plan so far today.

Well, guys, I did okay yesterday, mostly because I did not feel like eating at all. I must confess that what I ate was not WW picture perfect, though. :(

B: coffee w/sugar free creamer (.5)
L (at 4:30): tomato cup of soup (2); 3 slices wasa rye crisp (1); 1 wedge laughing cow lite cheese spread (1)
D: 1/2 bagel (3); 1 sl light turkey (1); 1.5 servings pretzel crisps (3); 1 serving fat free chips (1)
dessert: leftover graduation cake with no frosting (6)

Not pretty, huh? Back on track today, assuming the professional conference I am going to has some food choices I can live with. I am sure dinner will be chicken-something. Let's hope there are good veggies.

Oh, I am at done day 19. :cool1:

Thanks, Michele! Congrats on getting through day 16. Okay, I have a question. Isn't ice cream NOT on core? I think in your shoes, I'd have to stick to flex so that I could allow myself ice cream if I count the points. I wonder if forbidding myself to have it (on core) would make it all the more a temptation and completely throw me off. I have to admit, though, that I HAVE considered core many times, but have been too lazy to educate myself on it enough to start.

As for the full marathon, here is my take. And I hope you don't mind me being very, very candid.
The Minnie 15K (9.3 miles) was not my first endurance event. I did the WDW 1/2 marathon in January and I am extremely glad that I did that one first, for many reasons.
First -- doing the Minnie would have been very intimidating if I hadn't "already done these miles". I knew I could complete 9.3 because I had already done 13.1. That mindset provided a confidence (or should I say "overconfidence) that is understandable, but now, looking back, not justified. Knowing I'd already done 13.1 made me very lazy in training for the Minnie and we almost didn't make the 15 minute pacing requirement because I was not well-trained (and because my hip was excruciatingly painful before mile 3).
I was seriously having second thoughts about doing the Full in 2007, but knew I'd take the training more seriously if I was training for a new challenge rather than one I knew I'd already conquered. Having seen DH struggle to complete the full marathon he did a couple of weeks ago has now given me a whole new respect for that distance. I am extremely intimidated by the Full. I know that getting to 13.1 is difficult enough, and EVERYONE I know who has done a full has told me that 13.1 is NOT the half-way point -- miles 20-26.2 constitute the 2nd half of a marathon. That is scary. That is what is going to get my butt in gear to train. That is what is going to make me condition my hamstring/hip to overcome the pain issues I have.

One final thing. I am glad I did the 1/2. I have a Donald medal. If I hadn't done the 1/2 first, I know I wouldn't go back and do it after having a Mickey medal, assuming I could even achieve a mickey without having first done the donald.

Although it is a long way off and the very thought of it is beyond terrifying to me, I have to admit my long-term goal is to achieve a Goofy. However, having heard from someone else that they didn't finish the full within the required time and therefore did not get the mickey or the goofy they were striving for gave me a good dose of reality. A full marathon is nothing to take lightly. You have to respect the distance. You have to put in the steps to train. I trained for 11 months to complete the 1/2. I did many 5Ks in between. I did a long training wog of 11 miles, IIRC. That is the reason I completed the 1/2. I KNOW I would not have completed the full in required time in January 2006. I am willing to work to complete it in the required pace in January 2007.
Having said all of that, all I can say now is that only you know what you can accomplish and how much training time you can put in. I believe a person can achieve anything they set their mind, body and soul to achieving. My personal philosophy is that I can do anything -- I just have to be realistic as to how soon I can do it.
Aren't you sorry you asked?

YES ice cream is NOT on core, and that is why I think I would like to switch to it...I find myself using my points for ice cream instead of better food. So I was thinking if I switch to core and stay within my foods on core, that I can use the 35 Flex Points that you get for and ice cream each night. 35 points broken into a week is 5 points a week...I figured I could have my ice cream daily as it is only 3 points, and then leaves me 2 other points in case I want another snack or something??? Does this make any sense??? I mean I know I could have the ice cream on flex, but then I am having other snacks and things (even though they are within my points) instead of having like a second helping of chicken I save those 3 points and have 2 helpings of ice cream...UGH...plus I think maybe switching up a little will boost the weight loss.

As far as the marathon goes...actually I am glad I asked. I trained every day for the Minnie marathon, and I also think that helped with my weight loss...I was so determined that I was going to cross that finish line...I can and will train every day for this marathon as well. I also plan on being at my goal weight before then which will make things alot easier. So with that being said, I KNOW I can complete the full, and then I will go for the Goofy in 2008...THanks Cam!!!!!! :goodvibes

Way cool, Michelle! Can't wait to see you at the start of the Full! I know you can do anything you set your mind to. And what an awesome way to motivate yourself for the next 7 months. Can you believe it is 7 months from today? :woohoo:

I definitely understand your logic for the ice cream/core thing. I can't wait to hear what you think of core. I eat sooo many processed foods that it would require a whole new way of thinking for me to do core. I wonder if there are WW frozen meals that are core, that I could continue to eat. I'll have to look into that. Please, please share your experiences. My new WW week starts today, so I am going to stick to flex this week and if I have time to educate myself to core by next Wednesday, I am going to seriously consider it. I've tried other things to shake up my weight loss, including Wendie plan, but only did that a week, as it was too structured and didn't always mesh with what my schedule was for a week.

Good luck! Can't wait to hear how everything goes!

Cam and disneyfanz04- you guys are amazing- minnie and half marathons, and planning on a full. You are people to look up to and help motivate me. If I can get out and walk 2-3 miles 3-4 times a week, I'm doing good in the exercise department. I can't imagine what an awesome feeling of accomplishment doing those marathons gives you. What is a Goofy? It sounds like it's even more than a marathon? That's great.
I'm on day 11, and it feels good to be 10% through. I had a crazy day at work and didn't get to eat lunch and started snacking, but kept track and I have 3 points left for supper, and will use some of my remaining flex points and should remain on track. I have never tried core because I eat too many processed foods, and love my snacks. I go in spurts of eating pretty healthy but I'm sure I would need more than 35 non- core foods a week.
Cam- your daughter is beautiful. Congratulations to you both. I bet 12 years flew by. My son is 4 and it seems like yesterday he was a baby. I love this age, and don't look forward to the teen years. I'll miss his hugs and kisses.
Hope everyone is doing great.

Kathy -- I am so glad you checked in. Congrats on getting past 10%!!! Yes, definitely enjoy the time with your DS4. My DS is turning 13. I'm not sure how that happened!? I have to say -- I definitely enjoy my kids even more as they get older. It is wonderful to share their interests with them, support them and watch them grow into terrific young people.

The "Goofy" is the challenge at Disney of doing the WDW 1/2 marathon on Saturday (to get the Donald medal) and the full marathon on Sunday (to get the Mickey medal) and if you do complete both races in the required pace time, you get a Goofy medal as well.

Congratulations on doing so much walking. I can't wait to get back into a training routine. I am doing the Disneyland Inaugural 1/2 marathon in September and it is definitely time to start training for that! You guys are keeping me on track foodwise, though, and I appreciate that.

All that being said, I ditched my business dinner and met my family for chinese buffet. I kept track of everything I ate and didn't go over my points, since I'd only eaten 6 points today and made good choices at the buffet.

I am going into day 25(tomorrow). I just sat down and entered my calories and I am doing okay. I am stil working out at least 25 minutes a day and getting in my water each day.

Have to go now. I start exams tomorrow

I'm still on track on day 13. :) I've been good on the food, but not much exercise this week. Weather hasn't been great and I am so sick of rain. I keep tracking and staying within my points range. I've been thinking of me and my son at disney world in dec, and would love get a nice pic of us to use as a christmas card, but not at this weight.

I've also been reading the thread of pics of WDW food, and everything looks soooo good. It doesn't make me eat here cause anything I have here doesn't compare to the pics. I've got to keep losing so I can indulge in the wonderful food there.

Cam- the goofy sounds like an awesome challenge, and you will have such an amazing feeling of accomplishment when you finish it. I can't even imagine it. I've never been able to run. I used to bike a ton before I had my son. Now it's hard to find the time, so walking fits in my schedule now. Good luck to you in all your training.

The support from all you guys is great and really motivating. Hope you are all having a great week. :goodvibes

I'm finishing day 26. I used 7 FP's yesterday, but since I never use them and had them, I'm still OP. I'm on an emotional roller coaster right now(details in my journal)and haven't been up to posting much the last few days, but at least I haven't really been turning to food. Unfortunately, I've not been exercising, either, basically just vegging.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I just finished 27 days and I have to thank Cam for starting this. THis morning I have felt like singing. I did 65 minutes on the treadmill and I did 4 miles in that time. My time was 16.13 min/ mile which is one of my fastest time. Then I got on the scale and was down 5 more pounds.

Since I started this challenge I am down 8 pounds. Yes that is right.  I can't believe it. I lost 5 pounds this week and I went to three parties. I always kept in the back of mind to be mindful of what I was putting in my mouth. And to keep a water bottle close. Yes I even had some desserts but they were very very small. I was also glad that most of the people had some salads I really loaded up my plate with that. ONe more party on MOnday to go but I am already bringing a veggie platter so that I will have something to eat. NOw I just have to find a good recipe for a low fat dip.

Hope everyone else is having a great losing week

Hi, guys! Well, I am back to posting, after being tied up a few days with Special Olympics (my passion). I ate buffet last night but worked 15 hours Friday and 7 hours Saturday running around campus, bending & lifting and carrying stuff for the 3000+ meals that my committee managed. I figure I have at least 360 solid exercise minutes (but probably more), so I am counting yesterday cheat-free.

Dona -- I am so happy for you that you are seeing awesome progress on the scale!

Julie -- sorry you are having a rough time. I haven't visited journals in so long but will be back in the groove this week. Hang in there, sweetie.

Keep up the great work, everyone. You are keeping me accountable. I am hellbent and determined to meet my goals before the Disneyland 1/2 marathon,. which is 3 months and 1 week from today! Training starts today, so it should make it easier for me to remain cheat-free. Hugs, guys! :grouphug:

I'm just finishing day 15!!!! It's been great having this board to motivate me. I haven't followed WW this faithfully for this long in a very long time. The good weather always helps, and today was beautiful. After many days of rain, it was so refreshing to get out. My son asked me if all of our "day off days" could be on sunny days. I wish.

Great job, mikamah! I'm with your DS -- it was gorgeous here today, too, and I had so much more energy!

Well, I did it. Went back to the gym for the first time in more than a week (maybe 2?). Did 50 minutes on the bike. It is supposed to be a rest day on my 1/2 marathon training plan, but I needed to do something to prove to myself I am back on track. I am also done today cheat-free. I have 6.5 points left for the day plus 3 APs I earned on the bike, but I think I am heading to a bath then bed.

Keep up the great work, everyone! :cheer2:

Well, last night, after I posted here, I said good night to everyone, grabbed my book and some water and went upstairs to read. I really did finish the day with points left over and unused APs. Now, that is beyond cheat-free. I am really pleased. I am hoping to do it again today.

I keep restarting doing fine during the day but the ending up and grabbing junk at the end. I made it clear till almost bed time last night then at 4 chocolate chip cookies  :guilty:

Some how some way I have to do this. The jeans I have on today are very snug around the middle so hopefully that will help to keep me away from the junk.

Minnie, I know what you mean about the night-time snacking...What I did this week was put the scale in the kitchen...it was a pain in the butt to have it in there, but whenever I wanted a snack I got on the scale and it reminded me I didn't need the snack, I just "wanted" it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I haven't checked in here in a while, but I am now 20% complete. Yesterday was day 20 for me, and even though every day is a struggle, I am trudging on.

I am finishing day 17 tonight, but just making it. I baked cookies tonight for a going away party for a coworker tomorrow, and couldn't control myself. I ate 6 points of cookie dough, and then I had two cookies with a scoop of ice cream in the middle- about 6 points. I had already used up my points for the day, but had earned 3 aps and used my fps. I only have 7 fps left for the party tomorrow. I hope I can do it. Only 3 more days til 20%, so I need to control myself. I'm premenstrual too, and that doesn't help. I should have come on here before baking and gotten some motivation.

Minnie- hang in there. You can do it :cool1: It's hard but so worth it.

Disneyfanz and goldcupmom- you are doing great. Like the scale in the kitchen idea. I don't have a scale, so can't do that.

Hey, Kathy! So glad you updated. How great that you are 17 days cheat-free. That is more than 2 weeks!! Awesome! Now, you HAVE to come up with a plan for tomorrow. I would suggest an extremely low point breakfast, but something filling like oatmeal or bran cereal, and a salad for lunch or dinner so that you will have some points set aside for a nice treat at the party. I KNOW you can do it, and I can't wait to hear tomorrow how it went.

Oh, and believe me, you guys are really helping me to stay on track. I feel very loyal and accountable here and really, really appreciate the support. So, while it may appear altruistic, my motives are a bit selfish too! :teeth:

Cam, thanks for the suggestions. I usually have cereal before I go to work and then oatmeal midmorning, but I think I'll skip the early cereal and have the oatmeal-2 pts, earlier at work. I have leftover chicken, rice and broc-6 points for lunch, and know there will be vegie dip at the party and will stick with vegies before dinner. That will leave me 18 points for the party, plus my 7 flex points if needed. I won't be able to get any exercise in tomorrow, but thurs and fri I can to earn extra points. I can do it  It sounds very doable now that it's written down. :) I'll update tomorrow.

And the whole time will be with either DH who is on a vacation/business trip(where he eats/drinks nonstop) or with my DSis's family who don't watch food intake or the quality of food. This is going to be REALLY REALLY rough! They've been known at 10 at night to decide to order bloomin' onions - yes more than one - or Ale House Nachos - which come in a large steamtable tray! Hi everyone. Welcome new people. Hello to everyone who has been wondering where I have been. Some of you may have read this on another thread but if you don't read that thread this will explain where I have been this week.

I am finally out of school. We finished yesterday. It has been a crazy week for me. We finished exams on Tuesday, had graduation on Wed and finished up on Thursday. ON top of this I ended up working with my son's school (I don't teach there) because their play was up for 8 awards in a statewide competition Tuesday night (yes on top of everything else that goes on at the end of a school year). I was fitting and pressing costumes on Sunday night and Monday night. ON Tuesday I finished exams, graded them, got the rest of my grades in and then went over to my son's school to go with them to this competition. It is held just like the Tony Awards from NY. Each of the best schools nominated got to perform. So the kids had to go early go through a rehersal on their stage and then eat and change and then sit through the award ceremony. OUr kids were wonderful bu they did not win any awards. They were disappointed but they were wonderful at the ceremony.

My eating has been a little strange but within my calorie count. NOt much exercise because of the crazy schedule but a little bit every day. I did get in 60 minutes today which was great. I did a little cleaning and then some knitting. It has been a pretty relaxing day.

I have been within my calorie count everyday this week and I did a little exercise (even if it was only 15 minutes of walking) everyday. This was hard this week because I was not getting enough sleep and it was hard to get up in the morning. Several times I was doing pilates at 9 pm so I could get something in for the day. I made up for it today by doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and 30 minutes of yoga (I love my extra time in the morning during the summer)

According to my records I am just finishing up day 33 (one third of the way). This has been a tough week for me but I made it through it.

What are people's plans for Father's Day. My husband is away until Sunday afternoon. My sister is having a cookout but I would have to go by myself because my older son is working and my younger son has to study for his finalsmow the lawn and work on his Eagle Scout Proposal. Maybe I will just stay home. At least I won't have to put up with all the food at my sister's house (not that it is very good but she waits so long to put out the main course that you will eat anything).

Well I have to go. COngrats to all those who have stayed on track. Keep up the good work and I will chekc in this weekend.

I am about to complete day 24( i think) It has been really rough the past couple of days, and I have been doing CORE on WW this past week, but I am not sure how that will effect the scale tomorrow. I do not know what my problem is. I mean I do great all night, then I get really bored at night and just want to eat. I am not even hungry I don't know why I want to eat, so I pop up a bag of popcorn(which is on CORE) I eat that, then after I have the salty snack I use my flex points to have ice cream or something. I am really starting to get frustrated, so I think next week I will do CORE again, but I will close the kitchen at 7:30pm. I have got to get back into the swing of things. I think I will start training for the marathon now just to get me motivated. When I was training for the MINNIE, I was so dedicated and watched everything I ate, so I think that will be in my next week plans too.

Everyone is doing an awesome job!!! CONGRATS everyone who is staying CHEAT-FREE!!!!! :thumbsup2

Hi, Dona and Michelle! So glad to see you. It gets lonely around here sometimes.

DH and DS leave for a week of boy scout camping tomorrow, so I am going to have to work really hard to stay on track -- I eat when I am lonely or bored! I should be very busy this week getting everything ready for DD17's graduation party.

Dona -- congrats to DS's school play cast. What a wonderful honor!

Michelle -- I know what you mean about a scheduled event keeping you on track. Knowing I have to do the Disneyland 1/2 exactly 3 months from tomorrow is really motivating me to stick to a training plan and to be very accountable, food-wise.

Today I finished day 29. I am heading upstairs to exercise and read or watch a movie to avoid the chocolate vitamuffins calling my name. As of now I only need to earn one AP to be completely within points today. Not bad for a day that included pizza for dinner (veggie!!!).

Thanks so much guys for the support and accountability!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I'm done with 20%of this challenge. I can't remember the last time I've stuck with ww in so long. This is the first day of my food tracker, and I always feel much more relaxed because I have the full 35 flex points available if needed. I had a few cookies and pieces of licorice at work and just finished dinner using up todays points and 2 fps. I'm going to watch Toy Story with my son and we'll share a bag of popcorn, and that will be it for the night.

The hospital I work at is having a team walking challenge for 2 months. 6 of us from my unit signed up and we all will keep track of how many minutes we walk for the two months, and take the average and the winning team gets some kind of prize. It's a nice way to have more accountability. We won't want to let the team down. And it will take me to 80% of this challenge. I had already thought when I go to my sisters place for vacation in July I'd try and get up early to walk to buy some extra aps, and now I have another reason.

How are you doing without the men Cam? Hope all is going well. You're so good to exercise in the evening. I don't usually have the energy to do much in the evenings. Except browse the Disboards. :earsboy:

Hope everyone has a great cheat-free fathers day.

Hi, Kathy! Great job on joining that challenge. It will be so much fun for you to stay on track with exercising.

Thanks for asking about the guys. :) They left around 9 this morning and it has been very quiet, though I was at work most of the day.

It was a nice quiet evening. I made some low fat graham crackers with cool whip free and froze them for low point ice cream sandwiches. DD and I shared a bag of light popcorn while we watched "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants." I also finally got to see Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly.

I am off to bed now. Done 30 days!!

Cam Have a good time without the guys. It will go fast. At least you have your dd with you.

I have just completed day 34. I spent a good part of the day walking and watching my son's band members bag groceries at our local grocery store. They do it as a fundraiser. They put a contribution cup at the check out and they bag groceries. If someone feels like donating they do. OUr kids were very polite and the band director was great in instructing the kids. He has been telling them for the last week or so what goes together and what to keep apart. The kids were great.

Good luck to everyone on Father's DAy. I don't think that I will cook today. I cooked on Mother's Day and my birthday last month so I think I will send my husband out to buy takeout.

06-18-2006, 11:13 AM
Dona -- congrats on 34 days! What a great idea for a fundraiser. Our favorite supermarket actually has employees who are baggers, but I bet some of the others around here do not and might allow the band to do that as fundraiser. I will have to tell the bandparents association about that. Of course, DD is no longer in the HS marching band, so any interest I have in participating is strictly voluntary and not obligatory! That could be fun!

I plan to completely ignore father's day. DH is away so that makes it easier. My dad died last April and this is just hard. I'll be at work all day and then to the gym, I hope.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hello everyone. I've been slack at posting b/c I've been discouraged. I gained two weeks in a row at WW! I gained 3 lbs one week and 0.2 last week. It's frustrating b/c I didn't cheat! I stayed within my WWpoints. I just don't think I'm one who can use any flex points at all. I think I need to give them up.

I haven't cheated, but I feel like I failed. :guilty:
I'm trying to not use any flex points this week. Plus, I got out my jogging stroller and did 30 minutes with DS yesterday in the heat. That must have sweated off a bit, right?

I think the 3lb gain was due to too much salt. I was a bit swollen that day. I need to back off the salt and see if that helps.

Melissa -- Don't worry about the temporary gains. I had a 4 pound gain at WI last week, but I could tell that my rings were tight and I was definitely bloated. These are just temporary "blips" and all that really matters is how healthy a lifestyle we are adopting. (believe me, I am having a hard time practicing what I preach!) Congrats on getting out the jogging stroller. I am sure DS is going to LOVE that you are including him in your quest for health! :cool1:

Wendy -- congrats on the good weigh in. Remember, that is what flexpoints are for -- so that we can live normal lifestyles even while we try to lose weight. Baby back ribs sound SOOOO good!

Kathy -- sounds like a good use for flexpoints to me! :teeth: Thanks for your kind understanding about my dad. I am glad Father's Day is done.

I was doing great yesterday, knowing I was going to the movies and wanted popcorn. I ended up eating most of a large tub by myself while waiting for DD to arrive and then had 3 of her pretzel bites with cheese. When I got home around 11 I was craving protein and having skipped dinner (in favor of popcorn) decided to share a turkey burger with my furbaby. Fortunately, I'd earned 3 APs doing 45 minutes on the bike, so I only used 1.5 FPs. Those are the first FPs I've used at all this week, so I feel like they were well-spent.

I am through day 31 as of yesterday.

Welcome, Deany!! :welcome: So glad to have another challenger. I hope you will check in often here. I can't even imagine the prospect of driving from BC to Orlando. WOW! How many days will you spread the trip over? Is airfare just too outrageous to contemplate flying? Ever since we saw the movie "Cousins" DH and I have dreamed of vacationing in BC. Maybe someday!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a great cheat free week.

I'm finishing day 25!!!! A quarter of the way there. I don't think 100 days seems so far away anymore. I have 2 more day on my tracker, and only one flex point left, so I can't have any binges. At work yesterday there was piles of candy and a delicious looking chocolate cake, but I didn't indulge, and today someeone brought in a huge box of bakery cookies that looked so good, probably 10 points each, and I didn't touch them. It was very tempting, so I came on the disboards for a bit of motivation. I don't usually have the time or opportunity to visit the disboards at work, but I needed a fix. And it worked. I left work feeling great and took a 45 min walk. After dinner I rewarded myself and my son with a 3 point softserve ice cream from mcdonalds.

Welcome Deany. One hundred days til disney!!!! Im jealous- I have 160 days left til our trip. This is a great challenge to keep you on track. I cheated one day in the beginning, and find it gets easier every day. I can't wait to say I went 100 days without cheating!!! Good luck- you can do it!! :cheer2:

Cam, Dona, and goldcupmom- You guys are all one third of the way there!!! :cool1: That's awesome!!!

I should be at day 38 but I decided to skip yesterday. I went with some friends into NYC to see a play. We saw The Lieutenant of Inishmore. It was a comedy about an Irish terrorist and his cat (yes cat) It was very bloddy during the second act but it was crazy that I enjoyed it. ONe of my friends hated it. She has girls I have boys maybe that has something to do with it. I am used to the blood and gore. We had lunch in the city and I did pretty good there. I had a great salad with grilled tuna which was delicious. My friends and I shared a chocolate pudding so I didn't have much. It was after the show that I gave in. We went to a new restaurant in the city. We went to Juniors which is known for its cheesecake. I ordered the chocolate mousse cheesecake. I did take over half of it home but when I got home I decided to finish it so it wouldn't be in the house. It is the only thing had all afternoon (no dinner). We walked the entire time we were in the city and I did work out yesterday but I am not counting it towards my 100 days. It was great to see my friends because 3 of them have been retired for a while so it was a nice visit. We took the train into the city and just chatted the entire trip up and back. It was a lot of fun but left me realize that I really do miss these friends.

I hope everyone else has been having a good week. Today will be better for me . LOts of fruits, vegetables and water. Good luck everyone.

Hi, everyone!
Kathy -- that is awesome willpower. Whenever you are tempted you will have to remember how great you felt avoiding all of that. Kudos to you for getting out for a walk, too! :woohoo:

Dona -- NY sounds fabulous. So glad you had that time with your friends. The cheesecake sounds divine!

Michelle -- It's great to see you here. Have a wonderful day!

Well, I did okay yesterday even with a very stressful day involving DD and another instance of momentary bad judgment that could have had a devastating affect on her future -- I can't wait for DH to get home. I don't know how single parents manage.

I stayed on plan even while making over a hundred meatballs for the party Saturday. So, I am done 34 days. One at a time, right?

Cam Hang in there. I am dealing with ds who is going back to a full time college next year. He has been on a leave of absence and has gotten his associates degree but we don't know if the college will accept all his credits or how many in his major he will have to take over. He also doesn't have housing yet. He is supposed to be working on a paper to improve one grade from last semester and writting a letter to his new college to accept all his credits but nothing is happening. My husband gets on my case to get it done but when I bug my ds too much he just becomes a teenager and shuts down. How do we survive these years. Your husband will be home soon and my is soon leaving so I will have to deal with all of this by myself. Good luck

I am nearing the end of day 22 and still have 6.5 points left for the day (even after an amazing pasta dish my mother made). I'm doing good with staying on track, but I have been craving heavy food. Anyone have any good recipes for low-cal food that really fills you up?? :stir: I've wanted a big sub sandwhich or lots of pasta or something like that, but alas I don't want to use up all my points. Plus I save all my FP for Satuday evenings because we always go out to dinner with my parents.

So anyway, I'm over 20% there!! :woohoo:

Anyone have any good recipes for low-cal food that really fills you up??

One meal that I LOVE is a low cal chicken parm. This is how I make it...

I take chicken breasts and fry them in a pan with olive oil, once they are fully cooked, I pour a jar of Ragu organic spaghetti sauce in with the chicken. I let that simmer for about 15 minutes while I cook some wheat pasta. When the pasta has about 5 minutes left I pour a bag of low fat mozzarella cheese in with the chicken(I do not mix it, I just let it melt on top). Once the pasta is done, I place about 2 chicken cutlets(I usually cut them pretty small) over about a cup of pasta. It is very filling, and if you are WW it is about 7 points(but very worth it!!!)

Hi all. :wave2: Hope everyone had a great weekend. I am finishing up day 30 cheat free!!!! If I didn't do weight watchers and have the flex points, I never would have made it. It's so nice not to deprive yourself of anything. We visited my brother and family this weekend, and I ate and drank plenty on saturday, using up 20 of my flex points for the week, but yesterday and today have had no problem staying within my 26 daily points. I did take a walk both days with my sister-in-law, which earned a couple aps for the weekend.

Hey Cam, how are you doing? I hope things are better with your DD. I hear the teenage years are sooo hard and challenging at times. Hope she can turn such times into a learning experience. I'll take my 4 year old potty mouth anytime. Did your men have a great camping trip? I'm sure your glad DH is home. Maybe it's your turn to get away now.

Have a great week everyone. :sunny:

Hi everyone! I have not joined in on this thread yet, but I am so impressed with all you have accomplished! I did a "mini-cheat-free" challenge (my goal was 63 days) before we went on vacation a couple of weeks ago. Since we've been back, it has not been easy to get back OP.

SO, I told DH last night that the "cheat-free" accountability was something I needed! Here I am again, to join in with you all! I am going to do 74 days--I know that sounds weird, but that's how many days it is until we go to WDW for my 30th birthday. That is our first DVC stay, and we have all of my favorite restaurants planned. I really want to lose another 15 pounds before we go!

Today was a cheat-free day, so this is 1/74. Thanks for letting me join! :thumbsup2

Hi, everyone! I can't believe how long it has been since I checked in. And believe me, it is showing in my numbers here. I did fine through last Friday, which was day 36, but then I totally blew it Saturday and Sunday what with the party and then the leftovers. I got back on track this Monday and was fine for the past two days, but that only puts me at 38 days. I had really wanted to do consecutive cheat-free days but I don't know what is wrong with me. Actually, I do. It's mostly stress. Out of control eating at night. I am completely fine at work all day. Then I go home and totally eat anything I see. I am going to ask DH to discard all the rest of the leftovers today so that they are gone when I get home.

Where are all our other challengers? I am so bummed that not everyone is checking in. Then again, I have been a terrible example, haven't I? :guilty: I will do better -- I promise. Crimini -- the Disneyland Half Marathon is less than 3 months away! How in the world am I going to drag this unenergized body 13.1 miles if I dont' get back in the swing of things? Granted, I am still less than I was when I did the WDW 1/2 in January, but I feel sluggish!

Back on track and planning to be strong and committed 24/7.

I have been through 42 days and yesterday should have been 43but I haven't totaled my calories for yesterday. I have not been on the computer because the guys have been around all the time now. It is also very sad that they are getting ready to leave for 2 weeks. I don't know what I am going to do with them gone. My 21 yr old ds will be home but how often do you see a 21 yr old. I am very afraid that it will be too quiet here without any one. I've really been in the dumps about this.

I have been trying to keep my healthy eating and exercising everyday but I am still going to miss them. I am also scared about my husband. Last year when he went to the BOy Scout Jamboree he was one of the guys who passed out due to heat. He has had no problems since but I am stil worried about his . I know the two weeks will pass very quickly and when they get home it will be too messy and noisy with them here so I have to make the best of it.

I will start up again on Sat (they leave 5AM on Friday) so we are staying at my parent's house on Thursday night since they are only 20 minutes from the airport instead of an hour. On Friday I will enter all my data for the week into the computer and tell you how I did thisweek.

Good luck to everyone.

This should have been day 32, but I lost control, and used the rest of my flex points, plus an additional 10, so I have to skip today. I have completed 31 days cheat free, and hopefully tomorrow I will be back on program and working on day 32. I don't know what came over me. I was visiting my niece and nephew in the afternoon, and there was mini eclairs and cupcakes, and I had 2 eclairs and 3 cupcakes, and used up my daily points. I was having friends over for supper, and had a cheeseburger, potato salad, brownie, and ice cream :guilty: and used my 10 remaining flex points, plus 10. I hope this will be a one day thing, and tomorrow will be back on program. I do have to work the next three days and it is definitely easier to plan and stick with a plan when I'm working, so here's to tomorrow. :goodvibes

Hope you are all doing great, and staying cheat free.

I am not cheat free today again. Still at 31 days. I think I definitely do better when I can get out and exercise at some point during the day. I couldn't yesterday or today, and snacked far too much today at work. I am determined to get back on track. starting right now!!!! Tomorrow I will eat only what I bring to work, and after work will get a good long walk in before I pick up my son at daycare. The only thing I have done is journal all I have eaten, and I am over my flex points by 31. Maybe I'll maintain when I weigh in next week. I still have the long weekend to redeem myself. ( and after tomorrow I'll have a new week of flex points.) In the past, I would start a new tracker once I used my 35 fps, whether it was 2 or 7 days. I won't do that now.

I hope you all are doing great. I'm sure you haven't eaten as much as I have the past two days. :guilty: Keep up the good work.

I start a new week tomorrow, and want to save the flex points for the fourth. I have a cookout on the 3rd pre-fireworks which are held at the park near us, and have another cookout on the 4th. Planning to make fruit and reg salad, and a weight watchers trifle. And save the flex points for alcohol. I'm also on vacation after tomorrow, and will be going to my sisters place in Maine on wed for the rest of the week, so it will be tough. I have to think thin.

Just checking in. I have now fnished 45 days and I am not going to count tday since it was tough but I made it through. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night. We were heading to the airport and went to spend the night at my parent's house because they are only 15 minutes from the airport. I didn't want to oversleep so when I woke up at 2:30 I knew that I had only about an hour till I got up so I never went back to sleep. I just got my book and read and watched some tv (rerun of Larry King with Star Jones). We got to the airport at 5AM just when my dh wanted to get there. They had to wait until their entire group got there before they could get on line to check in. The other leader didn't get there until 6. I left them before they got on the security line about 6:15. I got to drive almost home but I had to go to a class at my school so I stopped for breakfast before class started. I came home from class and drifted off to sleep for about 15 minutes and now it feels like I could go to sleep and sleep until tomorrow morning.

I hope to spend the next 14 days eating as if I was at a spa. THe only day I won't do that is the 4th of July because I have a party to go to. I will be bringing food that I want to eat so that I can stay within my calorie total for that day.

Congrats Jayna on 100 days and welcome to the this next phase.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

I'm going to try real hard to stay in control, because nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. I have to remember that. Well, I bombed today. Didn't eat much this morning and then we had a party pre-fireworks, and I went a little crazy with snacks, food, and alcohol. I guess it could have been worse, but this is the first day that I didn't track anything, so I know it was pretty bad. Tomorrow is a new day, and I'm definitely going to track all I eat and try to get out for a walk. And bring all my leftovers to my brothers house. I have one party to go to, but I think I'm going to eat first and stop by after dinner. So, I skip today, and am only on day 34. That's three days over the past week that I've had to not count. Things happen in threes, hope that's it.

I am back from vacation, and did not do as well as I had planned, but I had a wonderful relaxing time. I did stay on program 2 out of 4 days, and out of the 8 days I was off work, I didn't cheat for 5 of them. So I am on day 38 cheat free. Back to work tomorrow, and back on track today. I need to get through one week straight without cheating as I've skipped quite a few days in the past couple weeks. So my minigoal is to do that this week.

Congrats Dona on 50 days. That's awesome. :cool1:

Is it too late to join? I tried doing the last cheatfree one but I just couldn't seem to commit back then. I know it has been a long time since then as I remember my daughter was still an infant back then. Now my dd is 14 months old and I can no longer use the excuse of being tired due to taking care of an infant or anything like that! SO I am determined to lose some weight and stay cheat-free this time. I am doing really well so far.

My main goal is to watch portion sizes and not eat junk. I will allow myself the occasional treat but I think the key is moderation. You know the saying, "It's okay to have a slice of the cake, just not the WHOLE cake!"? Well, that applies here I think. Anyway, I am highly addicted to chocolate. I literally can't eat it without wanting more or wanting it all the time so my main goal was to give that up. I went through some major withdrawals at first but now I have no desire for it at all and I am so happy about that! I had a couple of bites of chocolate cake on the 4th and it really didn't appeal to me so I didn't eat anymore! So YAY me!!! That was a huge milestone for me!

I am not sure exactly when I gave up the junk, sometime in June but I can't remember when exactly. But I know for a fact I haven't had any since July 1 (not counting the couple bites of cake) so I will start from July 2. I am currently at 8/100 cheat-free days and am feeling great! :)

Tasha & Jana -- Congrats on being a new color on page 1!!!! I think the first 10 days are the hardest, as we try to change old habits and we are still close enough to the start to think we could always start over. So glad to know you guys hit that milestone! :thumbsup2

Dona -- Isn't it great to be more than 50% of the way there? YEAH!!!

Hey, Kathy -- Congrats on 40 days! That is awesome! Keep up the great work! :cheer2:

Jen -- So glad to hear you are staying on track. I know things have been really rough for your family since the accident. I have been thinking of all of you and of that firefighter and his family. Be well, kiddo and take good care of yourself.

I am 52 days cheat-free and I feel like the past 2 days have been very controlled, so that's good. I have re-committed to WW and I am really going to try to cut-back on dining out and late night snacking. I am also, slowly, breaking myself of my late-night carb addiction. I have now gone 2 nights without eating pretzels or fat free chips after dinner. I have even forbidden myself any kind of sweet snack for now, since I am a bit compulsive about eating something salty after eating something sweet. Really trying to break those habits/cycles. I have 65 days until I leave for California and I am determined to lose these 12.4 pounds to get to that mini-goal! It would, of course, be nice to lose a bit more than that so I'll have a cushion for good food out there, but I am really, really determined to lose 12.4. Can you guys keep me hyped about that?
Thanks, everyone! I really, really appreciate your support here. I couldn't do it without you all being on this journey with me! :grouphug:

BTW, I am at 53/100. It is 9:00 and I am stuffed. I still have at least 6 daily points left and the 2 APs I earned at the gym. So, I know that even if I have a snack, I won't go over APs.

Today I got back on track and finished day 11! It was really hard because I wanted chocolate for some reason. Oh well, I made it. I used 26 points but earned 3 activity points so I'm good to go!

11 down, 89 to go!
Thanks!

I am finished day 41, and half way through this week. I only have 8 flex points left for the next 2 days. I haven't been able to walk the last 2 days because of thunderstorms, so hopefully today will be better. Then I can earn a few aps.

Hey Cam- You can do it!!!!!!!! What a great goal- the DL half marathon. :cheer2: :cool1:  WW does work. It's sticking to it that can be so hard. Late night eating is one of my downfalls too. I do need to leave a few points for a snack at night though, or I tend to go on a binge. Good Luck. Hang in there. It is sooooo worth it. :cool1:  :cheer2:

Thanks, Kathy! Hi, Jana! So glad you guys are doing well.

Last night I only had 2 additional points after posting. It was a delicious pina colada sorbet in a mini pineapple half. It was delicious. Of course, after I was done it I immediately wanted pretzels. But, guess what?? I did it! I persuaded myself NOT to eat another bite! Not even one pretzel! I was thinking of you guys and how supportive you are and I wanted to be able to post that I avoided late night snacking for the 3rd night in a row AND that I was able to eat a little something and not set off my carb binging compulsion. Thank you! :lovestruc
