Hi all...I know, I know, it is called vacation for a reason. But my husband has his own business and must check his email daily. Having said that we are staying at the Carribean Beach two nights and Wilderness 5 nights which both charge $9.95 for 24 hrs!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions???? Thanks so much

Well at the very least it will be a business deduction (the internet service, not the vacation).

Many public libraries have free wireless. You'd have to leave WDW, though. There may be some stores that have wireless "hotspots." Probably you could do a search online??

I read in my Passporter that there is internet access at Disney Quest

"THE WONDERLAND CAFE SPORTS TABLES WITH FREE INTERNET ACCESS, BUT THE CUSTOM BROWSER MISKE IT TOUGH TO SURF AT WILL"

Hope that helps!

Does he have an e-mail capable cell-phone? That solves the whole internet connection pay issue, also means not carrying the laptop. :thumbsup2

The Disney Quest Internet Access is quite silly. It's just one of those search around Disney-themed sites type of things. Just thought I'd save you the trip and the $$$ for the tickets to DQ...

We were at Disney last year and they didn't have internet access in rooms yet, I needed the internet for my business and went to the business center at the CR and the CM's could not have been nicer. There is/was a a computer there for quest to check their e-mails. You may call and see if this is still available.

I hate to disagree but you can actually access the "real" internet at DQ - I usually log into my work email via our Outlook Web Interface (from memory you have to select the "surf your self" option or something like that).

Then its just a browser and can access pretty much any sites you care to try :cool1:

Swan and Dolphin have free high-speed wired in their guest rooms, but that won't help you this trip.

If you bring a landline prepaid phone card there is always good old dial-up, which should not be too much of a hardship if he is really only dealing with email or text documents. He would pay about .75 in hotel charges for each phone call to the 800 number, I think, plus the 3 cents per minute on the card.
(A 407 access number might work, too; but be careful with those -- some of them have monster surcharges when used from hotels.)

If he checks several times per day for long periods, paying the daily fee might cost about the same. If so, get a receipt for it and add it to your deductions.

If all you need is dial up it is 75 cents per call with no charge for the minutes. Just be sure to check with the front desk to make sure you are using a local number.

By the time you drive offsite you would be better to just use the in room high speed. The business centers at the convention resorts charge $10 for 15 mins.

Go to www.jiwire.com and do a search for free internet in the Orlando (or any other) area.
