I called today to see about booking my airline ticket (we had enough frequent flyer miles for 3 tickets for DH, DS, and DD)and the price has gone up $52.00 and when I asked when the price had gone up she said either Mon. or Tues. Well I had planned on making the reservations on monday but my DD woke up at 6:00 am and was very sick (spent most of the day cleaning the carpet) so I didn't get a chance to contact the airlines to place the reservation. So what does anyboby think I should do now as far as going ahead and booking the flight or wait to see if the price comes back down. Any help or suggestions would REALLY be appreciated!!!!!!!

If the price is really only $52 a ticket, why use FF miles?

The price of the ticket wasn't $52 it went up that much. It was $123 and now it costs $175.

How long until your trip?
The same thing happened to me, and I went ahead and bought the tickets, through expedia.com. A few days later, I went to the airline's website (american) and the same exact flight was about $20/ticket cheaper, plus a lot of frequent flier incentives. We're flying around Thanksgiving, though, so I didn't think we had much time to mess around.

With Delta, if you book on the phone (not online) and then the price goes down they will give you a voucher for the difference that is good for one year from date of issue. You have to contact them and tell them the price went down, they don't call you.
We just had this happen but since we always take our trips in November/December, I don't know if we will be able to use the vouchers anyway. We originally paid $198 roundtrip from Portland. I found out that the price went down $52.50 each (there are 5 of us) but when I checked on the internet right after requesting our vouchers, the price had gone up to $753! Now the price is $906 so I'm still happy. :)

We are going Dec. 10-15. The last time we went to WDW we bought our airline tickets about 10 days before we left on our trip.

I would wait a wekk. what carrier is it that you are flying? if the flight is half ful then wait if its more than half filled buy the tkt now and then get the voucher when the fare goes back down.

Beverly Lynn,
We will be flying on Northwest aka Northworst. We were finally able to use our frequent flyer miles for this trip and couldn't pass up the opportunity. We have tried to use them 4 different times for other trips and were never able to and with the way things are now in the world I figured we had better use them before it might be to late. Thanks for all the help!
