Hi. I've noticed several of you on the daily exercise thread mentioning WATP. At first I didn't know what that was and then I was out shopping today and saw a Walk Away The Pounds DVD. Is this what you are mentioning in your posts? If so I was wondering if anyone can give me their input on the workout. What do you like, or not like, about it? I only saw 1 DVD - are there different workouts? Any info would be appreciated.

I'd rather mall walk for walking and I'd rather something more complicated (read interesting to me) for an aerobics type workout. Just my oppinion - have friends that WATP 3 times a week and love it. I guess it depends on your style. I like interval workouts, yoga and steady low impact walking/biking with scenery changes - these are my style. I get great results from lap swimming but I feel the same boredom with laps as WATP. If WATP is your style, go for it - whatever works for you. Note there is no strength work other than walking with weights sometimes and there's not enough stretching for me, so you may want to do a few extra stretches and you'll need other strength work. Good luck and happy walking.

I love it. I find it works well for me. Its a good one to start with and build up to others. :thumbsup2

My tip is get the 4 mile and you can work your way up by doing 1 mile and skipping to cool down. As you get endurance you can go all the way.

If you go for it I'd love to be a WATP buddies. I really need to get back to exercising and dust off my WATP and other dvds.

I've tried them with the "weights" and its really tough and I believe could be a decent "portion" of strength but still will need other stuff too.

I spent the winter Walking Away The Pounds in the mornings and went to Curves at night. Im a walker and when it was too cold/wet in the mornings I would walk in my living room. A friend gave me the Three Mile walk DVD and I would use the 1st two miles.

I have the 1, 2, 3 & 4 mile DVDs - I love them!

I tried some Firm DVDs since they are highly recommended and hated those. It all depends on what works for you.

I love WATP and have several tapes/DVDs. :thumbsup2 For the most part I do the 3 and 4 mile tapes and have started doing the PowerWalk which is a 30 minute interval DVD (3 minutes of walking then 3 minutes of weights/leg work). I'm seeing a lot of results by way of lost inches (I lose weight very slowly).

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I think it is something I would only use when the weather didn't allow me to get outside. Maybe I'll see if the library has any of the workouts, so I can try them out before purchasing. Thanks again for your help.

I just got these for when I can't get out or want to start earlier than daylight. I got the Deluxe 2 pack dvd edition, with Get up and Get Started, High Calorie Burn, and Super Fat Burning. I haven't tried them yet, but I've done Leslie Sansone before and liked her.
