Darn :guilty: We leave WDW on the 15th (maybe) so we probably won't be back to the metroplex by then. DH has to work Sunday so we will be back then for sure. For future meets, we have church in the morning on Sundays so any meet around 11:00 am would work for us.....

The 17th is the weekend before we head to DL, and it might also be the day we celebrate dd's 1st birthday. We'll probably miss this one as well, not like you'll miss us :thumbsup2

Of course we will miss you! I was really hoping y'all would be able to make it this time. You could have nice big Disney birthday party at La Hacienda Ranch :bday:.
ktulu
05-12-2006, 12:24 PM
My wife and I are still trying to decide what to do for her birthday. We're probably going to have enough people show up to fill up 1/2 of LaHa! I can see it now, yeah honey, I'm glad I thought of LaHa, say, look at all those people wearing disney shirts...
She already thinks I'm nuts for hanging around the DIS (obsessed is the word she uses when I discuss anything Disney heh). She really likes Disney too though, I need to drag her into the world of the DIS!
Have fun, maybe we can make a DFW meet when we get back from the parks and we can go on and on about how cool the new POTC is :thumbsup2

When you get ready for your next meet, please include Will and I. Hopefully we'll be able to make it next time.

Miss Haley is a Whippet. :dogdance: (A whippet's a lot more delicate and skinny, but I love that fat happy dog smilie!)
We love dogs, but the restaurants usually don't. At least in Texas. paw:
How's her separation anxiety coming? Is she doing okay in the apartment now, or still having trouble?
KristaTX
06-17-2006, 11:42 AM
Ah, okay :). I didn't know whippets were dogs. All along I've thought that was your last name or maybe a Disney character I wasn't familiar with .
Hope your pup is doing okay :dogdance:. You are a nice doggy mommy to stay home with her ::yes::.

Whippets look like Greyhounds, just a bit smaller:
http://www.akc.org/images/breeds/whippet/lg_artwork.jpg
I think they look delicate because they're so sleek and skinny, but they're usually really strong and lightning fast. And pretty smart! We have a couple of them across the street. (Right by the house with two Dalmatians. Not to be confused with the two Golden Retrievers a couple of doors down. We had two Black Labs. What is it with matched pairs on my street?)

To be more than 1K miles from "Home" and to see the postings of the great time ya'll had at La Hacienda Ranch, we're so sorry we missed the meet and the opportunity to have fun with everyone. Hopefully we'll hear about the next meet soon enough and be able to plan to attend. We mean no disrepect by saying we didn't learn soon enough - it was merely a matter of timing and nothing more.
We enjoyed the picture of the Whippet in the group. Will and I are dads to North Texas' most beautiful Greyhound named Faye. A retired racer from Dayton Beach, Florida, Faye will turn six this year. So as not to detract from the compliments the thread's resident Whippet is receiving, we'll abstain from posting Faye's picture unless requested.
Really hoping to see you all at the next meet!

Great pictures. Great to see so many familiar faces in that group! Ian is getting so big, and the DD's are just adorable!
And Kathy, Andrew is all grown up! I love his shirt. Looks like he didn't get any offers for you two. Tell him to add some flashing lights or something. Or a 2 for a dollar sign. He could get rid of you really fast then.

Do you mean the one in Lewisville, across from Vista Ridge Mall?
(Actually, I have no idea if there are any other Mimi's locations... :confused3 )
KristaTX
07-11-2006, 10:21 PM
Mimi's is a great idea. There is one in southwest Fort Worth :rolleyes1.
There is actually a Mimi's out in front of the Target/World Market shopping center in Grapevine along 114. That one would be slightly closer for me compared to Lewisville, and it's in our "usual" meeting area.
But hey!!!! I know!! There is a Mimi's right across the street from Disneyland ::yes::. I ate there last month, and I think it might even be the original in the Mimi's chain. Want to meet there :woohoo:??
Let's do this meet sometime after the weekend of August 12th. I'm booked up through then. I vote for the 114 Mimi's.

How is Aug. 19th for everyone?

That sounds terrific ::yes::. 2:30 - 3 o'clockish is usually a good time to avoid both the lunch and the dinner crowds. It's nice to do that so that we don't have trouble getting space for 10-20 people.
