I hear all the excitement over the CROC shoes.
Are they any folks out there that don't like them?

Me! Don't flame me here :furious: please, because this is my personal opinion!
I just find them so darn ugly I can't bring myself to put my feet in them. Plus, DBF said he wouldn't be seen with me if I wore them. :lmao: He was kidding-I think! Anyway, I find comfy sneakers and my cheap Old Navy flipflops the most comfortable for me! :)

Me too! They are so ugly! They are fads like UGG's, what people do for fashion! Yuck! Broken in supportive sandals and athletic shoes that are vented and quick drying are the best for the parks!

Crocs come in many styles and many colors...not just the "ugly" ones I think you are referring too. I personally think the ones that look like flip flops are cute. Not to mention that crocs are suppose to be ideal for parks and jobs were you are on your feet all day. I know many nurses who now where them.
My main reason I don't buy a pair...I have an allergy to plastic, latex, and some rubber materials and I dont want to fork out the money only to find out I can't wear them!

My first pair were Airwalks from Payless. They were okay to wear for a few hours, but one day I wore them for an entire afternoon on my feet and that was not good! So I broke down and bought a pair of the beach crocks (bright pink) the night before leaving for WDW. I wore them at WDW for three days in a row with no problem.
Once I got home, I decided I couldn't wear the pink ones in the real world so I bought a pair of khaki ones. Later I bought a pair of the flip flops. I love them both.
So....based on my experience, I would be wary of the Payless version and stick with the neutral colors.
Previously someone posted: "crocs are like walking on marshmallows" - that hooked me & I bought the navy beach crocs for Disney in Feb. They were indeed great on the feet - especially long days @ the parks! I still wear them; however, I don't care for wearing them barefoot...just ankle socks make them great for everyday wear. :wave2:

I don't like them that much. They're sweaty and I much prefer wearing my my adidas sandals!

I like them, but I think they're highly overrated as an "orthotic" shoe. They do not have any stability at all, and only a small amount of arch support. I think they make wonderful gardening shoes, and are great to wear as slippers around the house if you're plagued with sore feet after work. As to ugly...hmmmm, it's hard for me to really judge. Every shoe is ugly in a women's size 12...

Me, I bought a pair to wear to WDW in December, I got blisters on top of both my feet. I had to wear socks to keep them from rubbing. I wore them in February there with the same bad results. They are not like walking on Marshmallows if you have ever worn Reef Slaps. I wear my crocs to walk my dog, because they are easy to slip on and off in a hurt, but I will not wear them to the parks again, my feet hurt well before the days were done, with my Reefs, I can wear them 16 hours and never have a problem.

I HAVE TWO PAIRS OF CROCS... THE BEACH STYLE I HATE,,, THEY GIVE ME BLISTERS... :guilty:
BUT THE CAYMENS ARE MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE. :thumbsup2

Not a fan personally. They didn't fit my feet well and were uncomfortable to me. But different things work for different people.

It's weird. I usually stay away from Payless (or cheap stuff, like the Old Navy flip flops) versions when it comes to stuff like that, but believe it or not: the $3.50 Old Navy flip flops are the only flip flops that I can wear around the park, all day, without my feet hurting, getting blisters, or hurting from the thong part rubbing between your toes. It's so weird. They're just THAT comfortable for me. Strange huh? :)

I've tried them on, and don't get the excitment. They aren't half as soft on the bottoms as my Teva Mush flip flops, nor do they have the arch support of my Merrells. Now, if I could only combine those two...
Oh, and they are definitely ugly to me...all colors, all styles. Funny, I tried to get my son (age 7) to get a pair, thinking they might be easy for him to slip on and wear around this summer, since he doesn't like most sandals. He declined, telling me he was sure other kids would laugh at those shoes! :rotfl2:
That said, I did buy a pair for my MIL. I knew she'd like them. So to each their own. :wizard:

I don't particularly care for the clogs, but I got excited about the thong flipflop type.
Until I tried them on. They are still just too big for my feet...which sounds dumb because I wear a 10. The part that goes on top of your feet is still about a half inch away from my foot when it's on, and the sole sticks out about 3/4 to 1 inch away from where my foot sat on it all the way around.
It looked like I had snowshoes on.
I did make an effort though, I really wanted some comfortable flip flops for our trip this fall...it just won't be a pair of Crocs.

i personally think that only girls/women should werar crocks! i saw them on a man once and he looked funny!i like then becayse they are comfortable but i to like flip flops for the parks! like someone already said, there are many styles and colors to choose from. not all of them are that hideous! when i go to volleyball tournaments, the majority of the girls(ages 10-18) wear them! so i LIKE them!

"My main reason I don't buy a pair...I have an allergy to plastic, latex, and some rubber materials and I dont want to fork out the money only to find out I can't wear them!"
My ds is allergic to latex as well. I was nervous about having them in the house. I contacted Crocs directly and although they said they couldn't tell me what the shoes are made of (proprietary), they did say there is no NRL (natural rubber latex). You might contact them to see if they contain any of the other materials that you are allergic to.

I hate them. I purchased a pair, wore them once, and will be selling them. They are not as comfortable as my tennis shoes. My feet always felt sticky.

I completely agree.....they cannot be classed as an orthotic shoe (they have no real arch support etc.). I am a foot specialist (make and fit people with orthotics). First off.......I LOVE CROCS! I bought my first pair a week ago and haven't taken them off... :rotfl: Orthotics are a device that changes/corrects the way that you walk (your gait cycle), providing support and change (while you are wearing them) in all the right places, which can relieve moderate to major stresses that can affect your feet (plantar fasciatis, heel spurs etc), knees, lowback etc.
Crocs do not make or correct any of the same problems that orthotics do, but what they do do is provide comfort and circulation in the foot, hence the "walking on marshmellows" helping to relieve the everyday stress applied to your foot by walking (especially long days).
I heard somewhere that the Crocs mold to your foot, which if you have a problem that requires an orthotic, this would be containdicative as it would exacerbate the problem.
So.........wear them because they are COMFY and help to let you walk on a cloud all day at WDW (I think I am going to buy a couple of pairs for my upcoming trip). WOOHOO! :)

I think they are HEINOUS looking. Although I do like the flip flop kind and want to try a pair on- although the two places I found that sell crocs don't sell the flip flops yet. I don't want to order them online incase I don't like them so I'll keep up my search. WDW isn't until Sept anyway!
I've worn athletic shoes, flip flops and Birkenstocks to the parks before and have never found anything that doesn't end up rubbing somewhere at some point. The last trip we bought moleskin and wore that with tennis shoes and it helped but still wasn't great.
I'll keep searching!!! :)

I HATE ugly bulky shoes! I am the last person you'd expect to seek out a pair of bright rubber clogs. However, I was talked into trying them on, and they are so comfortable that I've almost convinced myself that they are cute! Most of the "comfort shoes" out there are pretty ugly anyway, and athletic shoes can look kind of big and bulky too if you think about it. After I'd worn them for the first time and took them off at the end of the day, I actually missed having them on. I did make sure to buy a neutral color, so that people's eyes aren't drawn to them. I'm feeling really glad that I'll have them to walk around Disney World. At any rate, it never hurts to just try them in the store :)

I purchased a pair of the flip flops for myself and a pair of the regular crocs for each DS. My husband hates them and said they remind him of "jailhouse shoes" the shoes you see on inmates in jail. :rotfl2: I purchased them anyway. The flip flops I love but reading my daily Disboards I ordered a pair of Teva Mush flip flops today. I will bring both pairs and also a pair of walking tennis shoes for our trip.

I think they are the ugliest things ever and I could never wear a pair of the clogs. I am oddly attracted to the material and want to try the flip flops. The material is fascinating to the touch, and I can't imagine it anything but delightful on the tootsies! :rotfl2:
But why do they have to look like that?!?! :confused3

I don't like them. I know that they are very comfy but I just wouldn't feel as if I had been to Disney unless I cam home with sore feet :goodvibes
