I would like the least amount of crowds possible, which would be better
3rd week of June or 3rsd week of August?

I don't know for a fact, but judging from the hours posted on Disneyland's website, the third week in August's hours are slightly shorter so they are probably expecting smaller crowds. Plus June is the POTC thing so that could be a bit hectic.

Who cares about crowds my deciding factor would be pirates! It will be closed the third week of June but open in August. August will be hotter and crowded most likely but I would still go just to ride pirates.

That was our deciding factor too as we were tossing around the idea of june or august. we've decided aug20-27. Dh would be very disappointed if we missed it. But looking at the calendar, hours are shorter that week than normal summer hours. We're hoping to watch Snow White and the Electrical light Parade. So we're crossing our fingers that both will still be going on. Otherwise we may need to move up our vacation a week early. As with any busy time, make sure to show up early and take advantage of fastpass.

Snow White and ELP are both listed as occuring during that week. We are also going to be there then. Aug 20-30 for us!

This is why we are going in August, rather than May! DL w/o POTC? No way!

We had to change from June for many reasons, now going the 14th-21st of August. Can't do without POTC.

I though POTC was opening June 25, am I wrong? We will be there june 26-30.

Disney posted that it would open on June 26th and the BB would open on July 1. Some folks have speculated that since BB is not opening to July 1, so goes POTC. Disney has not posted anything different than June 26th.
Should be real crazy for a while after the opening.

If recent history at disneyland can be used as an indicator, most of the recent openings have actually been running b4 the rides official grand opening.

I would go in June. June gloom would make it cooler. August will be hot. Lots of schools are still in session the 3rd week of June so the crowds will be down.
