DW and I both have had APs for the last three years (prior to the DVC offering them). Our last APs expired in December and we are going home in June. Should we call and renew the APs through member services now or can they do that at the desk when was check in? This will be the first time we have renewed them through DVC. Thanks!

If they have expired in December and your trip isn't until June, do not do a "renewal", they will be backdated to December. You need "new" APs. You can pre-order them through MS if you wish, or through the member website. But it is easier to simply buy them when you get there. You will have to go to Guests services at one of the parks or DtD, none of the resorts (Disney or DVC) handles APs. Be sure to have your blue member card to present to guest services for your discount.

Unfortunately, I think you may be outside the time period where this is considered a renewal. I had to renew my AP this year through DVC as well. Because there is a big gap in between when my pass expired and when I'll be going back, I called (can't remember if I spoke with DVC or AP CM) to find out what the deadline was for me to renew. According to the CM I spoke with, we only have a 30 days after the expiration of our passes to renew. After that, it's considered a new purchase.

You might want to call and confirm this info, just in case there's an exception the CM I spoke with wasn't aware of.

Thanks Chuck and Sk8 - I suspected it was a little late to renew and it sounds like the best way to go is to simply purchase new ones under DVC. Thanks!
