We are traveling late June 2001 to WDW - Florida and looking for a suite that sleeps more than 6, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I have made a reservation at Days Inn - Florida Mall for 2 rooms ($27 per night) - not bad. Is this a good place to stay or dirty?
Any comments would be much appreciated!

From what I've heard, all the Days Inns in the Orlando Area are pretty run down and dirty. I would try instead the Comfort Suites Maingate East. This a fairly brand new hotel (opened last year). I've heard great reviews about it and the pictures on its website look very pretty. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it (yet). We are staying there our first night. It has 2 queens in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. I am paying $67 plus tax, but I've heard people have gotten it for around $58 through hotelkingdom.com.
Hope this helps. If you have other questions, please feel free to post :)

how about those way cool sounding holiday inn family suites? I think i just saw they go for about $127/night but the kids eat free all day and it include breakfast for adults. i know you can find the web site and check out the rooms themselves.

Check this site for discounted room rates:
www.2001floridatravel.com (http://www.2001floridatravel.com)
The Holiday Inn Nikki Bird has family suites and kids eat free. They also have refrigerators and they say microwaves too. I will email the link since I can't seem to figure out how to get it to you this way. We are staying there next week in standard room, I can report back if you are interested.

You might try priceline. I've seen some people get 4* for $30-32 per room per night. Do a search on here using priceline as the key word. Good luck planning. Have Fun!

With 7 people I wouldn't risk Priceline. You can't even guarantee 2 beds in a room. Maybe if you bid on two rooms....but like I said I wouldn't leave it up to chance.
Good luck!

On the Starwood website (Sheraton), I found a two bedroom with full kitchen for $129. That was with a preferred gtuest discount. You can enroll in this for free.

We have stayed in the Days Inns and you DO want to stay away from them--same with Super 8. I would suggest the Holiday Inn Family Suites. It is right outside of the Maingate, making it very convenient to take midday breaks. It is also clean and not too expensive. Look up www.2001floridatravel.com (http://www.2001floridatravel.com) and see if you can secure any special deals here. There are also vacation homes about 15 minutes west of Disney in Davenport FL with pools, kitchen, and everything. My manager at work has stayed there twice and loves it. I cost him $400 for 7 nights. I will try to find out the name from him and post it for you. He said he took midday breaks, and the time it took in travel was comparable to using the Disney transportation to some the more distant on site hotels.
Good luck with your search :)
Have a Wonderful day, Eeyore

The Holiday Inn Family Suites have kid suites that have two bunks and a trundle bed and the livingroom sofa sleeps two,and there is a King size bed in the Master bedroom, that has a door! there are 3 tv's,and in the kid suite there is a cd player, nintendo 64and a table and chairs and a bed time story phone.
And you have a microwave and refidgerator, and cupboard space. and the Bathroom is quite large!
I think they have two bedroom suites also.
They also have family Kareoke and Family Bingo[where you can win pizza]there is a game room, and the nintendo games rent for $5.00 per 24hrs.
THe breakfast was great! the best place to eat is out on the sceen patio by the lake and fountain.
Plus you are 1 mile from the WDW gates. And there is a shuttle to WDW.
AND BETWEEN nov. and feb. they have had a Buy one night get one night FREE

I agree I would stay away from the Days Inn.
I stayed in one several years back, trying to save some money. The placed looked ok from the outside, but the room was very dirty.
We thought about checking out and finding a different room, but we were only staying there for the night and it was very late so I just stayed there.

I think we have just about decided to rent a house. The hotel thing is so confusing, and we would have to get 2 rooms or a large suite, which will be at least $100 per night.....we could rent a house for $700 a week or maybe a little more.
Any suggestions on websites for housing? I saw the two listed below in the posts...>Thanks!
