The DDA adventure travels are winding down. Since there are still many of us that love to see pictures of all the Pal Mickeys showing their latest fashions and sharing their adventures, I have renamed this thread to include Pal Mickey adventures & fashions. This is to include Pal Mickey's disney friends fashions & adventures as well.

Pal Mickey Instructions (http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/Pal%20Mickey%20Instructions/)
Information for buying blank tees for Pal Mickey can be found in post 61 on the top of page 5.

Here is Nicky in his official DDA shirt for his photo identification card.

There are three Pal Mickey's that will be venturing out into the world on their DDA (Disney Design Addicts) adventure. The pals are family members of babytrees (Theresa), my3princes (Deb) and myself (Vicki). To help keep the travels straight, each of the pals is using their middle name as a nickname. Theresa's pal is called Andy, Deb's pal is called Brooksie, and my pal is called Nicky.

Andy has already started his adventure in Vegas with KristineN. When she returns, we'll have her post some of his adventures. Nicky & Brooksie will be leaving in the next week to head to Julia & Nicks Mom and Triplefigs. When KristineN returns, she'll be sending Andy on to kc10family for the 2nd half of his May adventure. All three are booked through the end of the year with some scheduled visits into 2007. There will be a 4th pal starting his travels in June (Julia & Nicks Mom picked him up at WDW while there in May).

This is the thread where we would like anyone to post pictures or outline the pals adventures as they happen. I will be updating this post with their travel itineraries in the next couple of days. For those that take lots of digital pictures, the family members would love to get copies via e-mail or on CD. Our e-mail and mailing addresses are included in the pals luggage.

The boys are going to have so much fun! There are people already planning their itineraries.

ETA: Tommy, the 4th pal, has started his adventure with Julia & Nicks Mom. The itinerary for the pals is on post #3.

ETA 6/27/2006: Tommy contacted me and has requested that he make his permanent home with tinker1bell. He says that he loves me & my family for adopting him but thinks that tinker1bell needs him more than we do since we have Nicky. He was very convincing that tinker1bell has a very loving home so I gave my blessing.

A little history on how Pal Mickey's DDA adventure started. There was this crazy lady who posts on the DDA Trouble Free Zone thread who became addicted to her Pal Mickey and before long, many others were goners as well!
Ok. Not only am I addicted to this board but now I'm addicted to my Pal Mickey. I think I'm definitely going through my second childhood! :rotfl: Told you guys I wasn't old! I have been buying clothes & accessories for him since I've returned from my trip. :earsboy: Now that my girls are older they won't let me dress them up and show them off. What's worse is I want Disney to come out with a Pal Minnie so I can dress a girl 'cuz there are so many cuter clothes for girls. :earsgirl:

I am creating a webpage for my Pal Mickey. I've always wanted to play with webpages but am not ready to create one for the family (too many pictures to scan yet). Here is the link to the beginning of the webpage and a link to his pictures. Don't worry I'm being careful not to spend too much so that it interferes with my DVC plans!!!! :rotfl2:

I think an intervention is in order ;) When another obsession starts to get as big as your DDA addiction we need to send help. :rotfl: :rotfl:

In all seriousness your Pal Mickey looks really happy on his own webpage.

Deb
Deb has since put in as much time getting her pal ready for his adventure. I guess she needs an intervention as well.
Actually, I think I can claim my Pal Mickey addiction is an extension of my DDA addiction. I was looking for someone to design and wear my t-shirts since my girls and DH refused to wear one everyday (they were willing to have one sweatshirt and one t-shirt only). I have several in mind for Pal Mickey to wear on our Dec. trip. I'll post them when I get them done.
Hey Vicki -

I love your pal Mickey - would he like to go on the DDA trip?!?! :thumbsup2

(ETA: I have a Pal Mickey so I am not trying to get a free one for our trip!! :rotfl2: )
See, it was the Queen herself that made the first reference to him travelin'.
Would you like to take him on a DDA trip? I would love to send him to you so that I can live vicariously through him. You'd have to promise to get pictures of him.
Yeah! We could get a DDA Pal Mickey and he could take turns going on WDW vacations with us all like Flat Stanley does with grade school kids :goodvibes
I was - as soon as I saw your website I thought - he needs to go on the DDA trip!! But I didn't want anyone to think that I was just trying to get a pal Mickey for our trip!! Did you ever find shirts to fit him that you can iron on? I might have to coordinate his wardrobe - hmmmm....do they make tie dye crocs that small? :lmao:
He does have his own tie dye crocs now. He also has blank tees for those that want to coordinate outfits for him.
That is the funniest thing. I swear I remember telling Steffy that Pal Mickey needed different clothes!!! I could get into making things for a Pal Minnie cause I used to sew for my DD when she was little and then would make things for her Barbie
Ok, now I'm beginning to think I've went 'round the bend (as one of my elder relatives used to say) but I'm going to tell you my idea anyway. One of you, don't remember who, commented that it would be cool to have a DDA Pal Mickey similar to Flat Stanley. It got me thinking. I am probably not going to get a chance to meet most of my DDA friends in person, so I was thinking about having Mickey travel around and meet you instead. You'd be responsible to take pictures, sign his passport, get him a souvenir and ship him on to the next person. I'd provide the money for the souvenirs, pictures (unless you have digital) and shipping. He is going on the DDA trip, Japan at the end of June and WDW with me in December.

If I can't meet you all, at least something that belongs to me can share in your lives for a little while. I'd add to his website with where he's been and post pictures.

Is this totally nuts?

The rest is history. There were so many DDA interested that Deb & Theresa offered to have their pals travel as well. You can also see that there were many people that contributed to the DDA adventure plans.

Andy starts his travels. We rushed him off from Colorado with stuff coming from Michigan and Vermont so that Kristine could have him for her Vegas trip.
Wanted everyone to know our Pal Mickey is off to his first destination!!

Kristine- I forgot to put in the note that I turned Pal Mickey....he just needs to be turned on to play games.

Our whole family has gotten into this!! Hopefully all have as much fun with him!!
I told Theresa I would post a pic of Pal Mickey...he arrived this afternoon and is getting ready for bed now.

Deb goes on a sewing spree. She made pj's shorts & pants as well as blankies for all three travelin' pals.
I've got a few pages to catch up on, but I thought you might like to see what I've been up to the last couple of days. My job for the travelin' Pals was to make them blankets. I did that yesterday and had a bit of material left that I thought would make cute sleep pants. I tried to find a pattern last night, but no luck in the 10" size for boy dolls. I ended up creating my own today and made these sleep pants. I need to locate more material in my basement in order to send a pair of pants and a pair of shorts with each one. These are what I have done so far.

Nice start Vicki. My Pal aka "Brooksie" will start his travels soon. He is busy packing his luggage for his first adventure with the Figs. I'm sure he will have lots of fun. Since Denise is waiting for me to make some alterations on a halloween costume I plan to get that done and mail it all together. My goal is by week's end, but life seems to be in control of me right now instead of vice versa. As vicki said we would love to see photos, receive emails or postcards and if anyone cares to chat I know that my phone number will be included. Since I'm not able to chapperone I would love to get to know you all by any means possible. I'll post his pre trip photo once I have him properly attired and packed. ;)

I hope not!

yes!! He loves kids.....will the girls get along and share him that's another ball of wax!!

Nope he loves to cuddle

that should be answered in his bio, if not ask his family they can tell you

yummy, ice cream

just as long as he doesn't get to close he loves to sunbathe!!

Please take him for show & tell

There are a couple of different sizes of tees that fit the Pal Mickey. I bought from a couple different places and the information below is the places I liked best. To buy locally, check out Michael's, A.C. Moore & JoAnne's.

The larger ones fit over his head but are kind of large. These are the style I bought for the travelin' pals. I like these (especially if little ones are going to be dressing him) but I roll them up at the bottom. Here are some pictures of the large tee. I purchased these at http://adollysworld.com/teddy_bear_shirts.html. They are the Style A t-shirts in the listing. The other advantage to the large tees is that they fit small build-a-bears as well so Pal Mickey can share with other stuffy's in the family.

The measurements on the large tee are:
Neck to hem is 5-1/2"
Side to side is 6"
Neck opening is 10" (all the way around)

Large tshirt from A Dolly's World
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d191/upturbo/Pal%20Mickey/PMlargetee.jpg

Large tshirt folded up from A Dolly's World

Large tshirt on a 12" build-a-bear
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d191/upturbo/Pal%20Mickey/PMlargeteeonsmallbear.jpg

The small tees fit him better. However, they have to go on feet first and can be quite tight around his bottom. It then is kind of hard getting his hands inside his shirt and then inside the sleeves. However, they look dressier on him. Here is a picture. I purchased these from http://www.allstitch.net/s_bear_clothes.html. There are a lot more color offerings in this style as well.

The measurements on the small tee and sweatshirt are:
Neck to hem is 3-1/2"
Side to side is 5" for tee, 6" for sweatshirt
Neck opening is 7" (all the way around)

Small tee from Allstitch LLC
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d191/upturbo/Pal%20Mickey/PMsmalltee.jpg

I also got him a small sweatshirt from the same place as the tees. The hood won't go on over his ears but they look quite cute on him as well. Same problem with getting them on as the small tees.

Back of small sweatshirt from Allstitch LLC

Just wanted to say Brooksie arrived in Maryland this afternoon. Emma was bursting with excitement when the doorbell rang. We opened his travelling compartment within minutes of his arrival. 650+ miles is a long journey when it is 90+ degrees outside. I am happy to report that Brooksie survived the journey but is glad to be in the air condition.

Emma and Brooksie have been very busy. They have set up his sleeping quarters in her room. She has carefully arranged his belongings for him. They have played Kingdom Hearts 2 and gone for scooter ride around the neighborhood.

When Molly woke from her nap, she introduced her self and is smitten. The girls and Brooksie are currently enjoying an afternoon movie, Oliver & Co., complete with popcorn.

Emma is planning shirt designs for him. We do know that a trip to the Bear Store is in order before we pack for our trip as Brooksie will need rain gear for Niagara Falls and his ride on the Maid of the Mist.

Will post pics later!!

Well, I was so excited when we got PM and I knew he had to have a few things to visit Lancaster County. So I have already gotten him a Harley Davidson Hat. (don't tell PM but I got it from the Pet Smart store because the small fits just perfect) :lmao: :lmao:
Then I found a cute black pleather jacket with zippers and I put a Harley Pin on the front and I have a big patch that I will sew on the back.
Then PM looked at me in A C Moore and said, "I am not wearing just plain shoes on the HOG so I need riding boots" Well, I told him that since boots are hard to find, he can wear hiking boots.

Hi All,

Well, when our Mickey arrived yesterday, I didn't realize at first what it was. The mail is delivered and I take it to Stephanie and said "Stephanie, Kate sent me something." She replied that it was probably our PM. So after lunch, we took pictures and started opening the two boxes and were just oohing and aahing. We had a ball looking at everything. You would have thought we were at a baby shower or something. :rotfl:
Then we proceeded to take him all over the office and show him to everyone.
With all of the programs that we sponsor, we will have lots of pictures to show. Thomas has a very busy schedule lined up for this week. He is scheduled to play Dominoes and Pinochle tomorrow with some of the Seniors. On Friday he will be with one of our camps and will be playing Soccer.

So I got to take Thomas home with me. That evening I was able to chat with my sister Debi (tinker1bell's sister). We have managed to get web cameras so I was able to show her everything. She just loved it all. Of course I had to tell her about DH saying "Oh for Pete's sake". So here goes: a few more pictures.

Well, yesterday Mickey Thomas Mouse or aka MTM wanted to try the Harley Cap. So I dressed him up for speed. Driving to work I made sure he was seat belted in.
Since I have introduced MTM to the Preschool children on Monday, they ask each day if he is here and I tell them he is on my desk. Driving to work I made sure he was seat belted in.
So at lunch, Stephanie and I went to lunch. I immediately said lets to to Auntie Anne's. Then I told her that MTM wanted to drive with the top down on Miss Blueberry. That is Stephanie's car. It is a pretty blue convertable. So we strapped in and off we went.
I swear the next is so true. We walked in and read the special's board and there was:

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c302/tinker1bell/turtle.jpg

so of course Stephanie ordered it. She gave her order to Tony and he agreed to have us take his picture with MTM

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c302/tinker1bell/helpingout.jpg
MTM watched us eat and really wanted a sip of Stephanie's drink, but we told him he would get whipped cream all his nose.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c302/tinker1bell/foodatauntieannes.jpg

going back he wanted to drive, but we said "Only while Miss Blue is parked"

Saturday I got up at 5 am to get ready for our neighborhood yard sale. A year ago I had two spaces at the big yard sale that the rec center sponsors and made about $120. Then when Marietta Days ( a big day of lots of craft booths and yard sales and celebrating at a few taverns in the town) came along, I had a table set up at my DD's house and for some little foot traffic we got I actually made about $30.
So I got up and started bringing things outside. DH even got up and was helping me. He set up the canopy for me so I was covered in case it rained, which it did. I ended up making about $50. Then when it was done, whatever was left, went in the car for goodwill.
Mickey wanted to help, so I made him the keeper of money.

On Saturday after the yard sale, I was hurting from walking around barefoot on the grass and driveway, so I took a nap. Went to bed early that night to get a good night's sleep to go out with Steffy so we could get pictures of MTM. I saw that it was going to rain off and on most of Sunday and was not too happy with that. But she and I had talked about meeting for breakfast and I know that is always fun. The phone rings Sunday at 10:30 and I answered and after talking about the rain, we decided to go to lunch. I get to Steffy's house and off we go in Miss Blueberry. Mickey is dressed in his crocs, raincoat and hat and I found a pair of sunglasses and he wore those. Well, we get to where we were going to have lunch and found out they are closed on Sundays. Steffy says she even looked at the brochure to see the time but did not check that it was closed :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Yeah, we have lived here in Lancaster County Me--28 years, Steffy a lot more :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . So we take a picture anyway.

Monday dawned and I knew it was going to be an unusual day because I had forgotten to set my alarm but got up at 7:45 when my alarm usually goes off. MTM said his feet hurt from all the walking and picture taking so he wanted to wear his slippers. :rotfl:
I said ok and put his Eagles sweatshirt on. So at least he was comfortable.
For us at work, the day just kept getting more and more weird. We were all ready to pack it in at about 3pm but just kept plugging along until 5pm

Here is MTM in his usual spot. Now the seniors look for him every morning and asked where his raincoat was. I told them I kept him dry this morning.

Well, he always says Hi to the Seniors and they love checking out what he has on to wear. He loves watching people come and go from my desk. Otherwise last night he was content to stay inside since it was really raining hard. We did watch "Air Bud:World Pup" on the Disney channel and he really liked it. Plus he gets a kick out of watching the cats.

In fact, he wanted to get down to their level so he asked me to prop him up so he could watch them eat.

Well, it's always better late than never, right?!

By now, Andy has made his way to the Austin, TX metro area to visit with Jennifer (bear74) and her family, but I wanted to share his adventures with me!

First things first - Andy arrived just in time to stow away in my bags to Kauai! He didn't look too worse for the wear from his cross-country trip from Paula, although he did bring up the fact that we COULD have just picked him up in California on our way. Of course, just more frequent flyer miles for him! Here he is, straight out of his traveling compartment:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a149/Tinkaroo77/IMG_5821.jpg

Of course, Andy was traveling with a secret! Another thing to add to his resume - child protective services agent. Look at what he smuggled from Paula's house:

We winged our way to Kauai the next day. Andy had the best seat in the house, as he got to stretch out horizontally in my bag for the 8+ hour flight.

Here is one of our many "firsts" upon our arrival:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a149/Tinkaroo77/IMG_4663.jpg

We waited eagerly by the pool for my parents to arrive - they were meeting my DH, my brother, and I after they had been on Maui for the prior week. They welcomed Andy with open arms!

My parents actually own a timeshare at the Waiohai - they've owned it for about 3 years now. So, we were staying with them on their week (fortunately for us, all of the units there are 2 BR, so we usually get the invite!). But, the Waiohai is a place you can trade into using DVC through Interval - and I think it's one of the best places on the island. It's only been open for about 3 years, too. The villas are awesome, Poipu Beach is one of the best rated beaches in the world and is right outside your door, the grounds are beautiful....I love Kauai!!

I honestly haven't vacationed at all the other islands, but my parents have, and Kauai is their hands down favorite. They usually go for two weeks and spend a week on another island - and this year, my mom was trying to convince my dad that they needed to sign up for another week so they could just stay on Kauai the whole time!

I would suggest going to www.marriottvillas.com, and getting on their mailing list, etc. I know the Waiohai is about 70% sold, but there might be the chance to get an offer to go and check it out. That's what my parents got, and after they went through the sales presentation (which was only a little over an hour and no pressure) they decided to buy because they love the island so much.

I know it's hard to get out there - but if given the opportunity - GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

We winged our way to Kauai the next day. Andy had the best seat in the house, as he got to stretch out horizontally in my bag for the 8+ hour flight.

Here is one of our many "firsts" upon our arrival:

He wanted to sit in a real buggy but I told him that that might not be possible so we used the one that was at the campground.

He asked where were the Amish and I told him that one does not take their picture because they believe their soul would be taken. He was cool with that. Here is the rear shot of a carriage.

Since I had to work, M Thomas Mouse was up and ready to go. I managed to find an iron on patch for July 4th since I am not design talented at all. He was happy with the design so off we went. It ended up that for most of the day there was just myself and one other person answering the phones. A few others came and went as they had taken the day off. She and I took turns or worked together to sell discount park tickets. Thank goodness there were actually periods of time when it was quiet. But MTM was happy to see the seniors.
We still have an issue with the front walkway and can only have two or three people walk across it at a time. We are hoping to get that fixed as quick as possible. MTM pointed out that some seniors cannot go up the stairs without help so we don't know who might be having to stay home until it is resolved.
Maybe when the Governor visits on Friday, he will see the problem and we could get faster action. He is supposed to sign some bill.

Anyhow here are some pictures. The first one is his patriotic shirt.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c302/tinker1bell/july3.jpg

This is from the concert on Sunday night. The New Holland Band played in Mount Gretna. It is a favorite place for some people who have summer homes. Our children from our three camps go to the lake during the summer for field trips. Thomas and I had front row seats.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c302/tinker1bell/pavilion.jpg

I took a short video of DH and others playing a slide trombone number called Hallelujah Trombone. Thomas really liked that one. DH is the second trombone player. Just click on it and it will come up on another screen and then click again and it will play. Just don't have your speakers on too high!

Marti,

When DH was in the Navy, we were stationed in Hawaii for almost three years. I really loved it there. I must admit that coming off the plane in November of 1970, it was very, very humid and I was about 3 months pregnant with our first, and it hit me like a brick wall with the humidity.
I managed to get over that but it was hard for the first week.
I really loved living there. We managed to make a lot of friends with the locals. I sold Tupperware for about two years. We always said that if there had been a nuclear power plant we would have stayed. But that was then when we were very young with our first and second one on the way.

I've been to hawaii, but Andy's trip report just reminded me of how much I'd like to go back. That trip is definately in our future, but we are waiting for the kids to get older as I don't recall there being that much for young kids to do there. Nicky spent a couple of days at my mothers house in Engadine. My sister was there with her two kids, her boyfriend and his four girls. Nicky had lots of kids to play with. He got tired of talking (or a couple of adults got tired of listening) so he got laryngitis after a day or so. :lmao:

Katelyn giving Nicky & Minnie hugs. She then took them in for a nap. I'm told that after she laid them down she told them "Now, no whiney butts either". Here are Nicky & Minnie watching the fireworks last night. There were some really cool ones that looked like Mickey's head. A big red circle with two little blue circles for his ears. I noticed them and didn't say anything but my best friend commented that they looked like Mickey ears. They had about 5 of them through the fireworks. Becky & I really enjoy these fireworks. They aren't as fantastic as the ones at Disney but they are awesome for small town fireworks.

I bought mine at Shopko. I've seen them at either Walmart or Target but can't remember now. They are in the baby section. I bought size 2 but if you wanted to really squish his feet, he could wear the size 1. My Shopko only had pink and blue ones. When I saw them at the other location (Target or Walmart), they had green, yellow, pink & blue. I painted the blue ones to make them look like the tie-dye ones for one of the pals. If you have any other questions about shoes or clothes, I'm happy to share what I've found. You can also check out www.palmickey.net which is a club for grownup Pal Mickey lovers and they have info on clothes and accessories for the pals.

During the day on Tuesday, July 4, it was not looking good. We had a storm come thru really fast. But by time we were ready to leave, the skies were clearing up. We headed to New Holland for the holiday concert.

Thomas looks a little washed out but he wanted his picture taken with the plaque by the pavilion.

So, I went up to the director and asked if I could get a picture of Thomas with his baton. I know that this is highly unheard of but I thought it was worth a try. I could tell he was a little stunned but he agreed. Then my DH put his arm around my shoulder and introduced me. Then the director laughed and asked my DH "Did she take her medication this morning?" He calmed down when I told him he could wear his new outfit to the USA Pavilion when we go to Epcot in December. Of course, he demanded that I post a picture of how cute he is in the outfit as a condition to waiting.

We also bought some for my sisters kids and her boyfriends kids that were decorated when we were in Engadine. Nicky & Minnie wanted their own. They both wanted it to say "Star" on their hats.

Nicky was very upset with me because I didn't find a parade for him to be in on the 4th. I told him with the black bear run and travelin' home that it just wasn't possible this year. He calmed down when I told him he could wear his new outfit to the USA Pavilion when we go to Epcot in December. Of course, he demanded that I post a picture of how cute he is in the outfit as a condition to waiting.

Of course I must know where you got that outfit? NOW NOW I must know :rotfl:

He stole it off a Starbucks Bearista Bear. I have so many poor naked Bearista Bears running around my house now. He's been getting most of his clothes from them. I have gotten some really good deals on eBay and their clothes fit wonderfully. This shirt was a little tight to get on over his hands but it works and he looks quite handsome, doesn't he? I'm going to have to sew some elastic loops to hold his hat on his ears before we go on our trip but otherwise it fits perfectly.

Next is a picture of my Huggy that I keep in my car. Years ago my sister told me that she had one for the car and home. Sometimes you just need a hug and there is no one around. Well I bought one for home, the car and for work. This one I named Chuck after my first friend from elementary school.
The guy at the booth at the parking garage would ask how Chuck was doing and that winter, he told me I needed to get him a hat and coat. So, I was dressing stuffys as far back as 1996!!! :rotfl: Thomas wanted a picture with Chuck.

Friday was going to be a very busy day. The Governor was going to visit so we were making sure things looked good. When Thomas heard we were to wear our Lancaster Rec shirts, he wanted one too. Somehow I could not get it together and did something wrong trying to iron on a transfer. :rotfl: So I told him that we would just use a letterhead and fake it. He was okay with that.

They were still deciding on whether to keep the walkway open or closed. This went on all day. First it was yes it is closed then no wait, not yet, then they did barricade it. Two different times one of the ladies tried to cross the barricade. One turned around but the other one got through turning the barricade over :rotfl:
Thomas saw the big media truck and decided he wanted to just stay upstairs and help hold down the fort.

Nicky and I went for a drive yesterday to the Lower Peninsula for a graduation party. He wanted to get pictures of him with the Mackinac Bridge. The Mackinac Bridge joins Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Lower Peninsula. Before the bridge was built, you had to take a boat across. I understand on the week-ends the line was hours long!

Saturday started with me doing laundry getting ready to leave next week to see my sister. DH had some things to do around the house so we waited until after supper to go out on Big Mo. We got to Stephanie's house and she and I then took pictures. The whole time DH stood on the other side of the street just waiting. He would groan sometimes but he was a good trooper. My family is absolutely loving all the pictures we get to see of little Brooksie on his vacation. I hope that Emma and Molly will enjoy seeing pictures of him as he continues his vacation. I can tell that the kids are really enjoying having him with them. It is nice to see how Vicki's plan for the travelin pals are effecting everyone. It looks like each family has had a good time with their visiting pal. For those that are already feeling the withdrawl you can always get in the waiting que to get one of the Mickey's in the future. That would give you time to put together a wardrobe, plan an itenerary, just think of the possibilities :rotfl:

Sunday meant DH was helping out at a chicken barbecue for the New Holland Band. Plus they had a car show. So MTM and I went over to hear some good dance band music and see some really neat cars.
I am not sure why some of the pictures came out the way they did, but a few I was able to make look really neat by changing to black & white or sepia tone. These are the cars that Thomas really liked.

Well, MTM found out that I am a big big fan of the Tour de France.
Such an accomplishment for Lance Armstrong.
I told Thomas that the year before Lance won and now this year a few people have been removed because of a big doping scandal.
I said "Thomas, don't be a dope, don't do dope."
I tried to make him a helmet so he could look like he was riding in the Tour.
He also learned that Floyd Landis who rode with Lance is now in second place and he is from here in Lancaster County. So we are rooting for him.

Here is what Thomas looked like when I made him a helmet for riding in the Tour de France

Here are the pictures of Thomas in the cockpit as promised.

Just to recap the story: As I was coming on the plane, I asked the Flight Attendant if I could have a pair of wings for Mickey (Thomas) he teased me and said "Oh those are really for you". I told him the story of Thomas and he came back later with a pair of wings and I immediately put them on Thomas. As I was getting off the plane, I gave him information on how he could read about the Pal Mickey's travels and he asked if I would like a picture of Thomas in the cockpit. I was so surprised and tried to get my camera out of my purse and the batteries fell out !!!!! Down on the tarmack they went. The pilot ran down the steps and brought them up. Took Thomas and put him on the console and told me I could take his picture. I looked at him and said "Are you sure?" He let me take the picture of Thomas in the cockpit and he positioned his hat to make it look like Thomas was wearing it. Then he even let me stand IN THE COCKPIT and took my picture with Thomas. Needless to day I was so happy and just could not smiling about it and had to tell everyone about it immediately.

You all would not believe how many people ask us about Pal when we take him out and about....then I get to tell them all about my friends.

Monday dawned with my sleeping late. I was really tired from traveling all day Sunday. My sister took pity on me and let me just sleep. Then I took her shopping and we did errands.
After supper she and I took Thomas to pick our Nephew up from Karate class. Sensei Bill Benthall was quite taken with Thomas' headband and agreed to have his picture taken with him.

Sensei, our nephew Eric, Thomas, and his friend Andrew.

Then Sensei thought of this picture.

We did not have time to make a belt for Thomas

I have arrived in Virginia, and boy was it hot in that box! Elin opened me when she got home from work and the first thing I saw was her calendar. It scared me a little bit until she explained it was for her DH, Bob, not me!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1178.jpg

Then, Kristin, my new "sister" took me outside for a little stroll. We looked at Elin's car:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1175.jpg

and their mailbox:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1176.jpg

Finally we went back inside the house and Elin introduced me to a new Pal for me! My very own Pal Mickey, who I am calling "TT" which is short for "Tiny Tom!" He has little magnets in his hands and feet and I hope they don't hurt me!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1181.jpg

Then I got to meet Punxsutawney Phil! Well, it is not REALLY Phil, but since we are not going to Pennsylvania on this trip it is as close as I am going to get!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1185.jpg

I am SO excited! Tomorrow morning I am going to work with Elin and I get to sing and play the piano all day long.

Terry - can I make MTM a T-shirt using one of the ones in his backpack? Do you care which color I use?

Also, is it possible to put these shirts on him backwards? If so, it occurred to me that we could put designs on the flip side side of a T-shirt that already has something on it. Might make the shirts last longer. Just a thought!

Elin,

Use any color you want. I can always get more. I found them at Michaels and A C Moore.

Sounds good to me

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1241.jpg

When we walked into the first display area there was a turkey that used to live nearby. I was not expecting to see this!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1235.jpg

But after Kristin introduced me to him I discovered he was not such a bad bird!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1237.jpg

I got to sit on George Washington's shoulder and also helped him survey some stuff. I don't know exactly what we did because we did not move around very much.

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1239.jpg

It sure is. And Kristin came home from work all excited to show me what she had been doing with Thomas today too. Tomorrow he is going to work with her again, this time to Kenmore Plantation. This was the home of Betty Washington Lewis, George's sister. It is a gorgeous home which is under extensive renovation. But MTM will be spending a good bit of time in the kitchen with Kristin awaiting children for the family tours. We tried to find him a tri-cornered hat to wear tomorrow as Kristin will be in colonial costume all day long. We did not have any luck though. :guilty:

More to report tomorrow night!

Andy wanted me to let you all know that he made it safely to Rochester, NY. The trip was long and hot, and he is happy to be outside of the box.

Andy felt great stretching out after his travels
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/100_3448.jpg

He immediately wanted to get to know some of the members of his new family

First he met some guy named Sparty. Sparty looked funny, and didn't seem to like Andy's shirt for some reason.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/100_3451.jpg

Next Andy met Pepper. The size of Pepper's tongue scares Andy, but she promises not to use it on him.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/100_3454.jpg

Andy also met a bunch of other friends. One of them let him borrow a bathrobe to relax in.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/100_3453.jpg

After resting up for a bit, Ellen showed Andy his new life jacket for his trip to the Poke Your Nose. He thinks that's a wierd name for a vacation spot, but he was very excited to try out lawn kayaking.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b101/ellenbenny/100_3449.jpg

Andy is sad that he can't go swimming, but he thinks that maybe just sitting in a boat is enough fun for him.

He can't wait to meet the rest of the family and go on vacation!

Today Kristin took me to Kenmore Plantation.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/01KENMORE.jpg

She does tours there in the kitchen and the main house. They are doing lots of restoration so there is not any furniture to sit on. Instead I sat on the mantle in one of the rooms!
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1257.jpg

The plaster ceilings in the dining room at Kenmore have made it one of the 100 Most Beautiful rooms in America. They are working on them all and I got to hold some of the pieces. The piece that I am holding was made in the wax mold sitting beside me.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1264.jpg

The drawing room ceiling has been completed and they are still working on the ceiling in the Master chamber. Wow, this took lots of hours to fix!!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1256.jpg

The drawing room has new wallpaper. It is flocked and fuzzy just like me! And I hope you are sitting down because it cost lots of Disney Dollars... $250,000 JUST FOR THAT ONE ROOM!!!
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1259.jpg

Here is a picture of the main staircase which has also been restored. There are a couple of old chairs here, but I could not sit on them.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c69/PNO4TE/Pal%20Mickey%20in%20Virginia/IMG_1255.jpg
