All of our previous trips have been around the 2nd week of June, lasting around 10-12 days. Because of schedules, we have had to cancel our plans for this June. We were thinking about the last week of December as a last resort. I've heard it's extremely busy, but can anyone tell me how busy is it compared to June? We'll either have to do December, or resort to leaving someone home. (2 college age boys and one high school and all their crazy schedules, along with ours)
Thanks for any help!! Really missing Disney World!!!!!!

Welcome to the DIS!
Unfortunately, as busy as the second week of June is, the last week of December is much busier. The last week of December and the week leading up to July 4 are the two busiest weeks of the year at WDW.
But...gazillions of people go every year and have a great time! You'll just need to set your sights a little lower in terms of the number of things you will accomplish at the parks.

I'll confirm what the above poster said and that this time of year is VERY busy.
In 2005 we were in the parks up to the 15-Dec and then went on a Disney Cruise. When we came back it felt as though the whole world had arrived in the parks!!
Nevertheless, the atmosphere is fantastic and providing you keep your cool, you will love it.

I've been there the end of Dec, and early/mid June, and can say that it's definitely much, much more crowded at the end of Dec. But, we would go back, and will be back the last 2 weeks of Dec this year! :thumbsup2 The XMAS decorations and the cooler, nicer weather make up for the crowds. Just be sure to do your research and have a plan, and make all dining reservations early. I'd also recommend TourGuideMike as a resource in addition to these boards for making the most of your time in Dec.
