View Full Version : August Cruising

We have been on 2 cruises. Both of these cruises have been in June.
My DH and I are going in August 5, 2006 Eastern. We will be
celebrating our 20th anniversary. We are treating ourselves to this
cruise and leaving the kids behind because school will have started back.
Last spring my husband and I lost our mothers unexpectedly within 6 weeks
of each other. To say that this past year has been difficult is an
understatment. My question is: what do you see as the difference in
cruising in June compared to cruising in August? I need this cruise for
re-gaining some sanity. I pray that there is no hurricane during this
trip. What have you experience while cruising in August? Any information
would be appreciated.

God Bless ya,

You take your chances during hurricane season. But the weather is always out of your control whatever time you sail.
It sounds like you just need to rest and take in some Disney magic. Just go and don't fret about something you can't control

. . . What have you experience while cruising in August?

Hurricanes, delayed departure date, and change of ports.

You cant change the weather, so pick a date and go. If something happens they will re route you to a different port or extra sea days. Just dont have
your heart set on any specific port. Go with the idea that you may get a surprise port?
If you look back at the records on hurricanes, most come late summer. The farther into the summer the more there are and the stronger they seem to get. I live in Florida and the first of summer is never a problem here.
So you might consider the first part of the summer.
I wish you lots of Magical moments whenever you go :wizard:
