Mickey's Sister -- andromedaslove can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is the 501st garrison of stormtroopers. Anyone can join the garrison as long as they have a movie quality stormtrooper uniform. You can get them on ebay for almost $2,000. My fiancee is obsessed with them, and wants the uniform so bad. The 501st usually only visits a couple weekends out of the whole thing, usually the first and the last I think. We missed them last year, but we are going every weekend this year so we don't miss them again. Yep, we're that obsessed. :teeth: You can see them at 501st.com.

But there are many stormtroopers walking around normally. It's fantastic.

I believe you are right about the storm troopers, and there aren't always that many there. From what I understand there are usually between 35 and 100 every day. However there are more there on opening weekend and on Fan Club weekend than any other.

Here is another storm trooper photo. This one chased my son around my legs for a couple of minutes. The sad part is that my son (4 at the time) wasn't afraid of Darth Vader but he was afraid of this storm trooper!! :confused3

Thanks Belle Amy!!! We plan on doing the first & second weekends next year, so maybe we'll get lucky. My son has been a fanatic since he was 2 - he's 12 now - and for one reason or another we've missed SWW so far. We're bringing the whole family & many of us are Star Wars fans. We even plan to dress up - I got a pattern to make Jedi robes, we'll see how that goes, LOL! :yoda: I hope you'll post tons of info & pics from your visits this year. My son is hoping they add Grievous - though I can't imagine how they'd do the costume.

Personally, I'm waiting for a Star Wars character meal.

BTW - I LOVE your Anakin/Amidala wedding idea. You could even have a musician play their theme song - the sheet music is available. My son plays the trombone & I got him the sheet music which he plays daily!

Mickey's Sister -- Your son will have a blast...I've got a Star Wars fanatic of my own on my hands! We are actually still kicking around the Star Wars wedding idea...we were deciding between Han and Leia or Amidala and Anakin....but I love Amidala's dress, so my vote won...Love the jedi robe idea...we're actually making t-shirts on zazzle.com for this year. Mine is a picture of Greedo and Han in the Cantina and on the back it says "I got wasted at Mos Eisley Cantina!" and my fiancees is a picture we found online of a repair manual for the Millennium Falcon...we're still looking for a good quote for the back...any ideas anyone?

As far as I know, there were no EMH yesterday. Everyone got in at the same time.

This morning, however, there were EMH. I don't know how that worked out for people. I should think it would be a very good time to stay in a resort. Maybe someone who went today can post and let us know.

I am very disappointed right now knowing that today was the last day of SWWs. I will be there next week and I was hoping every day that they would extend but the didn't. I can only guess that the announcement that they made this past week had a lot to do with the fact that they didn't extend SWW this year.

jjohnson - GREAT pics!!! My son would think he died & went to heaven if he could spend his 13th birthday at Star Wars weekends. He turns 13 next April, so we're planning a trip for next May, but now that they've scheduled Celebration IV for Memorial Day weekend, who knows what will happen... In 2002 we had a trip planned & they scheduled Celebration & then cancelled Star Wars weekends. My son was heartbroken, though we went to Disney anyway. I wonder how soon we will know...

Did your son participate in the Jedi training? My son was afraid he'd be too old at 13 - I hope not.

Yes he was picked. One of the pictures is of him battling Darth Maul. I thought he might be too old too but I was yelling "It's his birthday" & he was wearing his Darth Maul hat so that may have helped. The robe was SO small on him :blush: We had such a great time & it's a memory I'll never forget.

I must post a :thanks: to Belle Amy for the post about the 501st legion. I have 4 boys and have never heard of this organization. Oldest 2 boys love SW (and I admit I loved the movies too)...I checked out the 501st website, found out that our regional troop members would be making an appearance at a local bookstore event, and was able to bring my 2 oldest boys to spend about an hour with 3 stormtroopers, a shock trooper, a biker scout, and Boba Fett himself...lots of great pics, and it took the sting out of not being able to go to SWW!!! (we have a trip planned for April and cannot go back in June).

The 501st does a lot of charity appearances and marched in the Rose Bowl parade too, what a fun group of people who are doing something they love and bringing lots of joy to legions of SW fans! :) The bookstore was practically empty. My nephew came in his Jango Fett costume which made for some cute interactions with his "dad" Boba, and our pictures ended up posted on the local legion's website :eek: Lots of fun though. So thanks for the info!

June 1-3 -- Warwick Davis & Kenny Baker

Davis was only 11 years old when he played the Ewok hero Wicket in Return of the Jedi. In Episode I, he played multiple roles, including that of Anakin's young friend Wald. Kenny Baker gave the "human" side to the beloved droid R2-D2 in A New Hope all the way up to Attack of the Clones.

June 8-10 -- Ray Park & Daniel Logan

Fans know Ray Park as the Sith apprentice Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace. Daniel Logan played the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones.
