Can I do this?

Thinking about where to take our first trip with our new membership. Can I do this:

Make a res at our home resort at the 11th month mark. But when the 7th month mark comes up for HH see if I can get my points over there and cancel the ressie at BCV? If I can't get HH I'm thinking I still have my home where DH wanted to be at if we go to WDW.

Sure you can, just make sure there is availablility at HH before they cancel your BCV ressie, and if after the change there are any leftover points, I hope you are within your banking window.

The one thing you don't want to do is book a non-DVC resort like AKL or CBR and have your DVC points converted into "Reservation" points. Once they are converted for a non-DVC stay, there is no going back... :confused3

Thanks! Didn't know if it was ok to tie up my home resort with a ressie in hopes of having some place to go to if my 1st choice wasn't available at the 7th month mark.
