Does anyone have an opinion as to the best place to stay for someone with dust, mold, grass, tree, animal dander allergies? I have become very adept at managing my son's allergies however I want to try to avoid as many external issues as possible. We are planning a 12 day trip for Oct 2007 (yes, I'm a compulsive planner). I want to stay in a Villa. My top three choices are WLV, BCV, and BWV. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

All the resorts have pretty lush landscaping, so with the allergies that you listed, you could have problems at any of them.
VWL has a sort of "north woods" theme with a lot of pine type trees. BWV and BCV would probably be pretty similar to each other.

Okay, so now here is the point that I have to admit that at 40 years old I have never been to Disney World. Some of my questions are really basic but I just have no clue. Do all the resorts have carpet in the bedrooms? Do they decorate the resorts with live flowers/plants? Does Wilderness have cedar walls anywhere? Thank you!

Yes. I 've actually never been in a hotal that didn't have carpet in the bedrooms and hallways. The lobbies often have ceramic tile or wood, but also have rugs.
Do they decorate the resorts with live flowers/plants?
Not in the individual bedrooms, but yes, they often do in the lobbies.

Not in the individual bedrooms, but they have wood (I don't know what kind) in the lobbies.
here is a link to pictures of the VWL (including lobby of the villa building). (http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/WildernessLodgeVacationVil/index.html) The only pictures that shows the villas are the ones with the bed. You can see the carpet there. It is a low pile carpet. The picture that shows the hallway also shows what kind of carpet is in the hall (again, low pile).

Here's a link to pictures DIS posters have taken of WL. (http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=554) There are quite a few pictures of the outside, so you can get an idea of the landscaping outside.

Not a Villa but the CR doesn't have an over-abundance of landscaping. It has a futuristic theme of sorts with lots of concrete - I suppose in the future we have killed off most of the plants ;) It seems to me to be the resort with the least amount of plants around that require walking through.

My son has problems at WL with the smell from the trees. We've stayed at BC and BWV without any problems. In some of the older resorts that don't have central air and heat we had problems with mold in the rooms.

Thank you all so much. That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. There are a lot of things I can't control but there is no sense staying in a place that has a higher tendency toward mold or a greater abundance of trees/grass.
