What exactly does the exercise challenge entail? Just saying you're going to exercise so many minutes in the month?

LdyFaile, yes, that is what the challenge is. You pick your goal of minutes for the month, then post back on this thread daily, weekly or however often you want and I'll update the totals.

It's a very motivating way to get those exercise minutes in and see your totals go up and up and up :yay: !

hey! thanks for hosting this challenge. i just started posting this past month, and doing the march exercise challenge has kept me motivated (although i'm still 47 min short of what i aimed for - just got a new tat on my foot and cant wear sneakers). i will be in disney for a week in may (can i count all that walking as exercise??). put me down for 1000 minutes. thanks.

Amy, I'm in, I guess I should kick it up from last month, as I know May weather will be better, so I'll have no excuse to at least get out and walk or run almost every day.

loveyourliberty -- i always figure it's your own judgment as far as what you count and don't -- if you are good with counting your WDW walking go for it; or if you feel it's more leisurely maybe count 1/2 of the mins. you decide whatever you are at peace with, that's what i go wiht. i walk in the evenings with a neighbor but at a leisurely pace so i count 1/2 of the time. you are your own judge and jury :)

Started off the month right - 30 minutes walking at lunch today. I stopped in Walgreen's to get some mailing supplies I needed, and didn't even go near the candy aisle. Victory! :thumbsup2

Going to start off slow, esp with leaving the country for two weeks towards the end of the month. I'll be doing plenty of exercise (going on a serve trip to work on a ship) but won't have any internet access til I get home.

Off to a pretty good start this month--35 minutes on the treadmill (alternated walking and very slow jogging 4 minutes/1 minute for 2.2 miles). Then, DH & I did the 2 mile WATP. I got 65 minutes in today--65/1000! :thumbsup2

Well, compared to the normal evening walking time I am off to a slow start. :rolleyes:

My total for today is 60/1000 :yay:

It is rainy weather here off and on so it is hard to walk outside. My goal for tomorrow is much higher depending on the weather. I can't go to the gym tomorrow. It will be Thursday before that happens this week because of scheduling.

OK so when I first started back 'on track' I thought Curves 3x a week would be enough. And I think I was wrong, mainly because I'm not tracking points as well as I could be. SOooo. I'm doing WaTP on the days I don't do Curves. At least during the week. We'll see how that goes.

30 minutes today WaTP which makes me up to 60/500

Yes, I set a low goal. It's more than if I went to Curves just 3x a week though so hopefully it'll get me to keep up with the other.

The weather was so nice so I walked with my daughter and some friends. I feel wonderful after I exercise. The walking outside is the best for me because it really helps my mood. :sunny:

I made it to the gym yesterday and did 30 minutes of weights and 35 minutes @ 5mph on the treadmill, in addition to my 40 minute lunchtime walk.

This morning I did my 40 minute walk, putting me at 225/1500.

I am off to Mexico for a long weekend, but will get caught up with everyone on Sunday or Monday!

I'm new to this but I'll do this too count me in for 1000 mins for right now. I exercised Mon(walked) for 30 mins Tues(walked) for 30 mins and Thurs(walked) for 30 mins and I'm going walking in a little for 30 min. So right now I'm at 120/1000.

90 minute wog today...I went 5 miles!!! I know some of you do this on average...but I'm an asthmatic smoker and have always been pretty sedentary. The most I've worked out in my adult years is a 20 minute tae bo tape every rare once in awhile...LOL! I'm proud of myself! :teeth:

I had kidney stones before, and they HURT! I wouldn't feel guilty at all about no exercise. when I had them, all I exercised was my mouth, taking the pain medication!

Everyone is doing such a great job on moving! I walked 25 yesterday. My knee is really bothering me so I skipped my workout today -- not good. I'll have to make time to walk these next few days. I know I"ll be mowing the lawn this weekend -- that'll be a 30 minute workout I'm sure! :thumbsup2

DH & I did the 4-mile WATP today--60 minutes. We are going to a thing for my brother's graduation tonight, but I'm thinking I may get a few more minutes in after that (you know, to relieve stress! :rolleyes: ) That puts me at 280/1000.

I'm having a horrible start. Ashamed to say still 0/500 Blah!! My work had me working 11 hour shifts and my time was limited. I was "supposed" to go back to a normal 8 hours and would have a much easier time working in a workout somewhere but NOW I find that they haven't yet figured out a schedule as we have lost one of our new staff already and the other new one seems to be leaving shortly too. Sooo frustrated with work right now and stressed out that the exercise will really do good for me. SOOOOO If all goes well tomorrow I will head to be early and get up and exercise. Then I have to continute with that cycle. I just don't have the energy by the time I get home in evenings.

So I have to figure what time I'll need to go to bed to get up and get working out before work and then get in a shower and all that.

Friday was 60 minutes of walking, Saturday was about 180 minutes of walking, and Sunday waas about 203 minutes of walking.
I was at WDW this weekend for the MINNIE marathon, so Sunday was actually 143 minutes at the marathon, and then another hour at Universal(even though I am sure it was more than that, I will say it was an hour total of walking...not counting standing in lines.)

SO, that puts me at a total of....613/1000...and it is only the 8th of the month!!! WOOHOO, I should have no problem meeting, and exceeding my goal!!!!

Boy, everyone was sure busy while I was drinking margaritas in Mexico! I did get some activity in - 30 minute walk on the beach Friday and 60 minute walk on Saturday, followed by at least 30 minutes of ocean kayaking.

That puts me at 345/1500.

I made it to Curves this morning for 30 minutes so that puts me up to 150/500. My roomate's schedule has changed and I'm weird about exercising when people are around (tomorrow I'll be doing WaTP at home). So I might not get in any exercise tomorrow. Just will have to see.

lillygator, I usually count 60 minutes for every day at the parks. I am sure it's more, but it's usually stop and go, waiting in line, etc. It is totally up to you how much you count!
