We are leaving in just 6 long days and have heard conflicting information about pin trading. Do they still do this? I've heard yes and no. Our last trip was Sept 2000 has pin trading changed any since then? I don't want to pack my extras if I'm not going to be able to trade. Suitcase space is short. thanks.

Yes, the CM's are still doing pin trading. My 7 year old got such a kick out of it.

I also just returned recently and can confirm that pin trading is going on. In fact, new pins were released in honor of the new 100 Years of Magic celebration that's going on. Hope this helps some! :)

I'll be happy to pack those extras. My 2 y/o DD loves them and I've been collecting Disney pins since the mid 80's. There are soooo many now that we just can't have them all but it's fun trying...

WE started pin trading several years ago...WE really love it ...my son 8 has a blast.... I just started buying the disney store pins to trade when we go in Nov. Since most of them are only $4.oo it is cheaper to trade those...
Have fun...
Keep on trading

I wasnt planning on buying the pins but my husband helped me along. The first night I bought an interactive pin. Then he bought me a mickey and friends pin with my name. Then he bought me a Sea World pin with my name. So before we left I bought Kraken (Sea World), and a few others. One word of advice though - get the rubber backings - 10 for $1. I almost lost my interactive pin in the Space Mtn seat. One of the CMs called me back before I left. The gold backings dont hold too well.

imgoingtodisney,
-- Where did you find the rubber backings? Are they for sale with the pins? We've been collecting the pins since before it was in style, but I've had trouble with the backs coming off. Perhaps rubber backings are just what I need!

Hi DisGo2Girl....

You can purchase rubber pinbacks from www.cheappins.com
They sell 50 yellow ones for $3.87. Just go to their web site, "enter store" by clicking on it, and scroll down screen and you'll see them. There are probably other sites too, but I purchase mine from them.

To all the pin traders...Hop on over to the Collectors Board where you'll see lots of pin trading activity.
