Shoe inserts Question

I have New Balance tennis shoes and thick rubber flip flop sandals if my feet get hot.

I was wondering about the best inserts for my tennis shoes to make it a bit more cushiony to walk.

Gel?
Arch support?
Heel support?
"Conform to your foot" support?

Jsut wanted to know what you guys thought before I spend my disney souvenier money!

I think a lot depends on how old you are, and what condition your feet are in.

I am 50ish, a bit overweight, and now I have a big problem with heel spurs.
I have bought my New Balance sneakers, and I also bought a really sturdy arch support for high arches, also from New Balance. For me, I feel that I need the extra arch support, not extra cushioning.
