Here is a strange thread....

I am wondering how I am going to get in touch with some of you once we're there.

Can you PM me or e-mail me ( luvdsny@qwest.net ) with your hotel's main number and/or your cell phone (if you plan on having one).

I don't plan on abusing this, of course  , but it could come in handy JUST IN CASE! ;)

Thanks. :)

Tia

BTW, I will be happy to EXCHANGE cell phone numbers. ;) I certainly don't want my phone ringing off of the hook at unthinkable charges!!!    I am thinking EMERGENCIES only! :)

[B][COLOR=blue]This is very interesting to me. I've always thought about getting a cell phone, but I rarely use my home phone. I'm not much of a talker, more of a listener.

But I have always thought of having one of those small cell phones to use in my car for emergencies or to use at places like DIS-CON.

I sure would like to here your thoughts or suggestions or dislikes of some phones or plans, etc..

If I get one, I'll be glad to give my phone number out to anyone.

I wonder if you can rent one? Would that be to expensive?

Thank you in advance, Ray

I got a cell phone for emergency use only and for when I'm away from home. Ray, if you decide to get one, make sure you get a plan that has no roaming charges. I thought that's what I was getting, but it turns out that I can call long distance for free as long as I'm in Colorado calling somewhere else. If I'm calling from Florida to Colorado, they charge $.60 per minute. After my first $400 phone bill, I've learned my lesson. The hard way.

Good advice Steve. We learned that same lesson by calling Idaho FROM Las Vegas.

I'm getting the Free Roaming for the month of Nov....ending Dec. 7th. This is perfect for DIS-Con. :)

Before DH and I went to WDW in May I changed my plan and got 150 anytime/anywhere minutes, no roaming charge, etc. DH though it was such a good idea he did the same and we both took our phones. We called home several times, called a DISer at another resort who we were meeting while we were there and called each other when we got separated and had no extra charges. It was great. That's what I'd recommend.
