It looks like another beautiful day in the nw! It's kind of funny. You will be in WDW at NYE and I will be at DL on NYE! I am also doing the dis ladies only trip to WDW in September/october. The food and wine fest is going on while we are there as is MNSSHP. It will be my first time for that. We are staying at CSR. Where will you stay on your trip to WDW?

Where are you staying while at DL on NYE? That sounds very fun!
We are splurging this NYE -- staying at the Grand Floridian! I could never afford to stay there on cash, but we are DVC members and we have family who couldn't use some of their points this year . . . and I have always wanted to stay there, so wahoo!! Will be great, actually, because we have a toddler and will be very handy to use the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom!! :cool1:
So cool that you are going on the ladies only trip -- I would love to do that! I have stayed at CSR many times with extended family --that will be a great time!

We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn over new years. It's one of my favs! That is so cool that you will be at Grand Floridian! I walked through it once and it was so elegant. How old is your baby? My son, Ryder, will be one on the 12th of this month! I can't believe it has been a year already! We are planning on having a ladies only trip every year, though there is talk about possibly doing a cruise this coming year. I think we would have to bring our families on that, though! We'll see.

I'm from North Seattle, Shoreline. Next trip is Aug 2006, for some good grubbin'!!! Don't know how I'll do in the humid weather. Must be crazy to leave here during August. It's the best time of the year!!
Then Mousefest in Dec 2-12th. This will be my 3rd time at Mousefest. I met some great folks there, and a couple from the NW.
Both times with be at French Quarter. Haven't stayed there, but heard good things.
I was at DL last Nov., and stayed at Candy Cane also. It was nice, but I think Fairfield Inn, or Howard Johnson are actually closer. It was a good walk .
Have a great time! :sunny: :sunny:

Hey Sarah,
Our daughter is 12 months old as well! She turned one year on April 11th! So close in age! Isn't it a great age? We have so much fun with her!! :cloud9: Can't wait to take her back to Disney! Has your little one been yet?
I haven't been to the Candy Cane, but will have to try it after hearing so many great things. We used to live in So CAl so we are spoiled with many past memories of DL that didn't require hotel. On the upside, though, we have good friends that we can stay with during trips down there as well.
An all ladies Dis cruise! THat would be fabulous! :woohoo: We sailed on the Wonder before our daughter was born and LOVED it!! We are also going to sail on the Wonder Dec. 28th to 31st, leading up to our NYE trip! Such a stunning boat -- would be great for a meet up!!
Hmm. Weather started out rough today, but now I see the :sunny: :sunny: :cheer2: :cheer2: Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!

Hey Kitty Kitty,
Nice to meet you! How long have you lived here? We moved up here in September.
I hear you about leaving Seattle during the Summer. My husband complains that it is silly to leave here during the only time when it is nice! But I just need a getaway, you know? I think the rest of our trips will be during fall or winter, though. he does have a point.
You should plan for that humidity! Yipe! It has really beaten me to the ground a few times during Aug and Sept. trips to Florida. Plan for lots of pool breaks, though, and you'll be great! :thumbsup2
What is Mousefest? Sounds fun!
French Quarter is very nice -- you'll love it. A fave of my neice and nephew because of the pool and the food court. I am always impressed with how nice it is-- pretty lobby, comfortable rooms. You'll have a blast!! Also, great bus service from there! We have stayed at Saratoga the last couple of trips and the buses can be a bit slow from there . . .
Hope you are having a great weekend!! :sunny:

Hi I live in Eastern Wa, Moses Lake. I am going to Disney World with my two sons ( 9 & 6) and my boyfriend, in August. We will be there for 12 days. My BF has a time share so i wont get to experience staying in site this trip. But in Dec 2007, ( Christmas present for the boys), i am looking into staying on site. Maybe the Poly, and a night at AKL.

Dh doesn't want to take him till he's five...what's up with that. I am taking him this new years for the first time so he will be 19 months. I hate waiting that long, but that gives me a chance to make sure he is ready with solids and all so I don't need to bring too much extra into the park with me!

Awesome! We are developing an actual Seattle "crew"!
Thankfully, summer seems to be off to a pleasant start around here -- hence making it easier for us to wait until those next beloved trips to CA and/or FL . . .
Have a great day all!

Weather is beautiful out there, but I think it makes me want to go even more because it reminds me of disney and I feel like whenever the weather is great, I should be enjoying a disney day!

I don't know . . . we leave for DL in a couple of weeks and I am already regretting that I scheduled the trip for July, instead of FEbruary, when I know I will be really needing it. Thankfully, we have another trip planned for December! In the future, I think I will try to be away only during "the dark months." Seems silly to waste all of this beautiful sun we have been having . . . :cool1:

Hello, everyone:
We're on the Eastside. I grew up in the South Sound area, DH in Eastern Washington, and we went to school in The 'Burg. :thumbsup2
So it's supposed to be in the 90s this weekend, can you believe it??? We'll be roasting at the Mariner's game on Saturday...

At least you picked a good game to go to. I bet it was a bit warm, although I'm sure it was better than hanging out in a house with no A/C.
Adding myself to the Seattle DIS crew. Live in Ballard. Next trip to WDW is this October.

Add me to the list of folks without A/C! Who thought we would ever need it??
We are just back from the GC at DL -- wonderful hotel! Our next trip to WDW is in January -- can't wait!
Bigsmooth: are you going for the Food & Wine? I've never been, but I'm curious.

Sorry for the late reply (spend more of my time on the DVC DIS boards then the community ones).
We are definitely going to hit some of the Food & Wine stuff, may even go to some of the hard ticketed events. We mainly picked going in October for other reasons, and Food & Wine is just a happy coincidence. We've only been in October once before, and thought the Food & Wine was pretty fun, even if all we did was sample some of the tastes.

Last time I was in California was around 1989 for a friend's wedding, and it rained the entire week I was there. Well, OK, it was gorgeously sunny on the day we drove back home. I figured it was just desserts for bragging to all my friends that I was going to see the sun in March, and come back with a tan.
So I just checked the forecast for Anaheim, since we will be there starting next Thursday. I'm getting so excited, our first trip to Disneyland ever! It's been a beautiful summer here, but the rain and overcast skies are back, so looking forward to a bit more sunshine, ya know?
Weather.com says to expect some clouds for the first couple days, and then... rain!
