This was the first cruise for both myself and my DBF, Dan.

Day 1-Thursday April 6, 2006

Even though I had Wednesday off, I was still running around at the last minute getting things together Wednesday night. Dan was at my house at this point so we had to fill out some paperwork for the cruise. Of course we couldn't start that until I finished watching "Lost" at 10pm. :goodvibes I was in bed around 11pm but I didn't get much sleep I was "too excited to sleep." :Pinkbounc

I woke up by my annoying alarm at 3:45am. Yes, that is less than 4 hours of sleep I got and there was a very long day ahead. I hit snooze and woke back up at 4. I went into my brother's room to wake up Dan and we were off to shower and get ready.

We left for Manchester Airport by 5am and were parked and luggage checked by 6:15am. Non-stop to Orlando here we go! The first form of transportation for the day is the car.

The Salem, NH High School Chorus were on our flight. Its 6am and they were all happy. I'm not a morning person so I was not. Fortunately, they were well behaved on the flight so that made me happy :teeth: . What didn't make me happy was the fact that I took out my iPod (all loaded with fun Disney songs) and the battery was DEAD! I charged it all day the day before :sad1: I thought for sure that this was going to be a foreshadowing of the trip between this and the fact that Dan's ears hurt while in flight due to his head cold. Mode of transportation 2 for the day, the plane.

We arrived on time in MCO and we were off to find the Disney terminal. What a smooth process Disney has. I had all my forms ready and we boarded the DCL bus, mode of transportation 3 for the day. Since our luggage was labeled, we weren't going to see it until it got delivered to our stateroom. The DCL bus was full and we were the last to board so Dan and I didn't get to sit together :sad2: There were 2 seats left and some man was upset because I made him move his kids bags so I could sit there. Well guess what mister, thats for my butt! Your bags go above the seats! This was a bummer because I wanted to be with him the first time we saw the ship. We got to watch this fun "pre-show" type movie during the ride. First sight of the ship! AMAZING! Its just as beautiful as the DVD! :rotfl2:

We pulled into the DCL terminal and I couldn't believe the size of the ship! I mean, I know its a cruise liner but I've never seen one up close. And to think, I am going to be spending the next few days on it! :yay: We were into the terminal by 12 noon and we had a #7 boarding pass so we took this time to call our family and let them know we arrived safely. Mickey and Minnie both came out, one at a time, to take pics with the kids in front of the replica Magic and it seemed like 5 minutes later, they started boarding group #1. #7 was called and in we walked through the Mickey ears!

They took our picture before we boarded. Now, I was on less than 4 hours of sleep and just got off a 2.5 hour plane ride, there was no way I was keeping that photo! Next thing I know, we hear ďWelcome Aboard Jen and Dan!Ē We made it! We were on the ship! That is the mode of transportation #4 for the day.

We head up to deck 9, Beach Blanket Buffet.

They informed us beforehand that you could either eat there or at Parrot Cay on deck 3. Not sure if this is new or not. From what I read on the DISboards, they would only mention BBB. We wanted to be out in the sun. We took our food out to the deck.

Beautiful day! Dan ordered the first drink of the day which was a Bahama Mama. This is his favorite drink anyways so of course he had to get one! Except, he didnít realize that they gave him the souvenier cup and he threw it away! Oops! First $3 down the tubes.

We had quite a bit of time before the sail-away party so we decided to tour the ship. This was a great time to do it because a lot of people hadnít boarded yet so I got a lot of good peopleless shots!
http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3A%3A697nu0mrj

We ended up in front of Parrot Cay when there were 2 cast members there asking if people wanted to order bottled water for their stateroom. Since Dan and I drink a lot of water we figured this was a good idea. We ended up ordering half a case and it was a great deal. They dropped it off in our stateroom later that evening.

At approx 1:30 we decided to see if our stateroom was ready, green light, we are in! We had a cat 11 inside stateroom.
http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3B64%3A6nu0mrj
It was kinda small and I was really, really worried about feeling claustrophobic and I was already worried about feeling seasick so my tummy was doing loops.

Next we had our manditory lifeboat drill. This took no more than 15-20 minutes and we were back in our room putting our lifevests away.

We headed up to deck 10 to enjoy the sun and scope out a good spot for the sail-away party. Thanks to the Passporter, deck 10 was perfect. We didnít want to get in the way on deck 9 with all the kids.

As we noticed the ship starting to leave, we got up from our prime seats and watched the dock start to pass by. To our surprise, dolphins were swimming next to us! So beautiful! Dan said that is supposed to be good luck, Iíll take it! So far, Iím ok. I think me being nervous and lack of sleep is what made me feel sick. As we are standing there, I see a gentleman with a Scotland soccer jersey on. Could that be Mr. ScottishWee from the DISboards?? What the heck, Iíll go ask. I tap the woman on the shoulder next to the man.

ďDeborah?Ē
ďYesĒ she replied.
ďIts me, Jennifer48 from the DISboards.Ē Her face lit up. YEY! My first DISboard meet! I told her it was a good thing her husband wore that jersey or else we might not have met! We talked for a bit then we split and headed down to our room. The luggage had arrived! We unpacked and hung up our dress clothes before they were wrinkled too bad and we check out our 1st Navigator to see what is in store for the night.

Since we had the 2nd dinner seating, we had time to watch our first stage show ďHercules the Muse-icalĒ in the WD Theater. I was a little apprehensive about seeing it because it didnít get rave reviews here but both Dan and I loved it especially the corney jokes.

After the show, we went back to the room to change for dinner. Animators Palate was 1st on our seating rotation and I was stoked because I couldnít wait to experience it. Our table 32 was near the side wall.
http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3C686%3Cnu0mrj

We were there before our table mates. Our assistant server Kim came by to get our drink order. She is from Holland and remembered our Coke order every night! Our table mates followed. Now I have to say, we lucked out. We were blessed to have the nicest family sitting with us. Dad, Mom (Tina) and daughter Lauren from Georgia. This girl would come to be our entertainment every night. She was just so damn cute!

For my appetizer, I ordered the duck and goat cheese flatbread and Caesar salad.
http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3C678%3Anu0mrj

For my entrťe I had roasted chicken breast.

Dan had the stuffed tomato (I made him try something new and he loved it!) http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3C6875nu0mrj

and for his entrťe, he had the steak au jus.

At this point, we could feel the vibrations from the engines very well. I start to worry again and I even took some ginger gum just in case. For dessert, I didnít feel well so I passed. Dan ordered the NY style cheesecake.
http://images.snapfish.com/34689648%3B%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323365%3B3%3C687%3Cnu0mrj

What did they end up bringing me for dessert?

Birthday cake! My birthday is in 2 days, not tonight. Oh well, a little early. So I ate some of the cake and took the rest back to the room along with the ďIts My BirthdayĒ button. They did sing but it wasnít so loud that the whole place could hear. The cake didnít end up fitting in the fridge so I ate some more and stuck the rest on the table. Our towel animal for the night was a dog.

Day 2óFriday April 7, 2006....Nassau, Bahamas

The biggest problem with having an inside stateroom is not having a window so its difficult to keep track of time. We set the TV as our alarm to wake us up around 8am but we didn't end up getting out of bed until about 9. We were stuck watching "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" for like the 5th time already. That movie is so great! We were ready to start our first day out of the country around 10am. Let me tell you something, I am 5í10Ē and I have a lot of thick hair. Taking a shower in there was a project! Only hit my elbows on the walls at least twice every time I took a shower.

We were off the ship around 10am and there were already 2 other cruise ships docked as well.
We walked up through the Marketplace to get out into the shopping district.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp339%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A25nu0mrj

I was warned about the shops in Nassau. We didnít plan on spending much time there. We browsed a few of the jewelry stores but I felt like I was a shoplifter the way the employees followed you around. So we were in and out pretty quickly. All I really wanted was some postcards to add to my collection. I read about the Pirate Museum so we headed up that way and we perused through their gift shop hoping to find something good for pirate night.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp342%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B3%3C68%3A5nu0mrj
We were quite disappointed and didnít end up going into the museum. Plus, Dan had come down with a head cold so he wasnít really in the mood and neither was I. I did get to put Dan into the torcher device outside though.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A26nu0mrj
I'm sure he'll love that I put that in here. Heehee.

We headed back in the direction of the dock when I saw the store sign for Del Sol. Tina, our table mate, had told me about this place the night before so we wanted to check it out. Its pretty cool. They have T-shirts, totes, hats and others that have an image printed on it in black and white. When it is placed in the sun, the colors appear. We ended up buying a few T-shirts and we got a free tote bag and 2 rings. I planned on giving one of the rings to Lauren at dinner.

We were getting hungry since we hadnít eaten breakfast so we made our way back to the ship. You have to pass the hair braiding station in order to do so. This one woman asked if I wanted my hair braided. I actually wanted to so I stopped to talk to her. $1 per braid. But I was hungry so I said Iíd be back after lunch because I also wanted to wash the gel out of my hair before I got it braided. She said ok and to come find her. Her name was Margaret. I said ok and that Iíd look for her in her yellow shirt. Well, she apparently didn't like my answer.
ďNo, we all have yellow shirts. Ask for Margaret. Margaret.Ē
I said ok and started to walk away as she proceeded to yell Margaret until I was out of ear shot. Sheís probably still yelling it because, needless to say, I didnít go back. :lmao:

We ate lunch at Plutoís. Its so great to eat and drink whenever you want and not have to pay for it! :goodvibes
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3B%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A3%3Cnu0mrj

As Rachael Ray would say, "yumm-o!"

It was quite hot out so we decided to lounge by the pool. Adult only pool that is. We started off sitting by the side of the pool but I wanted to lay down so we went up to deck 10 to get a lounge chair since they were all being ďsavedĒ on deck 9 (even though there was a nice sign that asked people not to do so). Man this was perfect. Laying in the sun and being lazy, just what a vacation was all about!

We both fell asleep at one point and I woke first. I woke Dan up because it looked like he was getting a little pink and I wanted him to put some more sunscreen on. (He hates sunscreen and Iím a pale redhead who needs at least SPF 45. What a nice match we are!) Only 2 times did a little girl get kicked out of the ADULTS ONLY hot tub. Her dad (I assume) was in there. I hate ignorant people who donít think the rules apply to them :furious:

It was getting late so we headed to shower and change into our dinner attire for the ďGolden MickeysĒ show. The red carpet and paparazzi were out as we entered the theater. This show was cute but too many rules-do-not-apply-to-me people were taking flash photography.

We had some time to kill before our dinner so we decided to check out Route 66.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp344%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A5%3Anu0mrj
We hadn't been down there yet.
Dan caught me gazing out the porthole.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B435848nu0mrj

We headed outside to watch the stars. I caught him doing some gazing as well.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B435866nu0mrj

Dan and I are sunset people. Of course we aren't sunrise people because we can never get out of bed early enough! :rotfl: But this was the ONLY sunset that we caught mostly because the sunset was just around the same time as our dinner so we missed it most nights.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A4%3Bnu0mrj

Dinner tonight was Parrot Cay and it was Pirate Night pirate: . Since we didnít bring any pirate attire or find anything fun in Nassau, we just wore our regular dining clothes. One of the speciality drinks for the night was the Banana Caribe. Dan loves banana so he had to get this. He liked it so much he had two! For my appetizer I had the Mango Soup.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B435877nu0mrj
Yeah I didnít like the sound of it either but Chat (I guess I forgot to mention him earlier. Heís from Thailand and was great!) had described to me that it was basically vanilla ice cream melted down with mango in it. I like ice cream and I like mango so I decided to try it out. It was yummy! Dan got a fruit salad and that was delish too.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B433%3A9%3Cnu0mrj

For our entrees, I had the prime rib and Dan had the BBQ ribs.

Man do they make good food on this cruise! Everything just made your mouth water! Now, on the first night, Lauren told us that she took advantage of the free ice cream and had about 14 bowls of chocolate ice cream with mini marshmallows. She ordered it again tonight for dessert and so I decided to try some too. It was actually quite good!
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B4387%3B4nu0mrj
Dan had the brownie sundae.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B43588%3Cnu0mrj
Chat and Kim wanted Lauren to limbo with them. After hesitation, she did and we cheered her on.

After dinner we quickly went back to our room because I wanted to put some pants on (Iím not much of a skirt person) and then we headed up to deck 10 for the Pirates in the Caribbean party. Since we had the 2nd dinner seating, we didnít get out until a little after 10 so the party had begun without us! Once we made it up to deck 10, there wasnít much space to stand. We had a small viewing hole between people to see the stage. That was good enough for us.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B43589%3Bnu0mrj

This was a fun party that lasted quite a long time! We stayed on deck 10 to watch the fireworks (which btw, do you know Disney is the ONLY cruise line allowed to shoot off fireworks? Its true, our cruise director Jacqui told us the night before). Anywho, after the fireworks a lot of people left so we headed down to deck 9. The dessert buffet!
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B4399%3B9nu0mrj
We totally forgot about this. By the time we saw it, a lot of the food was already gone. That didnít matter much because we were way to stuffed from dinner. The cast members that put on these deck shows are so great. I love the way they interact with the kids and adults as well. I love to dance. Its so much fun. Dan doesnít enjoy it as much as me so he just stood there and watched. I didnít mind. As long as he was having fun and he did.

Around 12am, we headed back to the room. As I walk in I almost walked right into our towel animal!
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp33%3B%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5% 3EWSNRCG%3D323365%3B4387%3B9nu0mrj
This monkey was hanging from our closet with my sunglasses on. So funny. We also had another towel creation.
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D323365%3B43882%3Bnu0mrj
Leaning Towel of Pisa! Special for the new Mediterranean cruises coming up. Those look fantastic. I think they are a little to much mullah for my wallet but a girl can always dream!

I head into the bathroom to take out my contacts for the night. I come out and I see that Dan has the camera on me. I, being the ham I am, start to make goofy faces. Not a minute later did I realize that the reason why Dan had the camera on me was because he had decorated our room for my birthday and I didnít even realize it!
http://images.snapfish.com/3468%3A4%3A89%7Ffp344%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3E WSNRCG%3D3233665938578nu0mrj
He is so sweet. I told him that I didnít want him to do anything or buy me anything for my birthday since he was coming on this cruise with me and that was enough of a birthday present so he just decorated the room. Can we all say ďawwwww.Ē 

Due up, day 3 MY BIRTHDAY at Castaway Cay!!

Brenda, I'm so glad that you are reading my trip report! :worship: You were my inspiration! Everytime I passed by the Cove Cafe I thought of you!

We did not end up rebooking. I know, I know, big mistake some might say, but this cruise took a lot out of our budgets because we then headed over to the Polynesian for 3 nights. I will DEFINATELY be going on a 7-night. Hopefully next year sometime. Do you have one booked yet?

Thanks again for reading everyone! :goodvibes

Jennifer,
I'm flattered that you even remembered my trip report, but to be an inspiration??? It's too much...I think I need a mochaccino!! :teeth:

Please tell me that you went into the Cove Cafe and tried something at least once..and hopefully it lived up to its billing.

We have not rescheduled another cruise - I really wanted to do the 10-night Med. but it was just too much for us to swallow. I keep saying that we want to try other places but the longer I'm away from the Magic the more I miss planning another cruise!!

Keep up the daily installments here - I can't wait to hear about your birthday on CC (and your boyfriend was very sweet to decorate the cabin for you!).

B.

PS. Harry Potter is a god!

PPS. I will have two trip reports this year...one for a brief getaway to Universal next month to celebrate our anniversary and one for a 10-night visit to WDW in October. Now that one should be good, even if it is on land...food & wine festival at Epcot = lots of opportunity for excess + my parents tag along = 1/2 disapproval mixed with 1/4 amusement and 1/4 "I wish I were young again" envy on their parts. Oh yeah, good times they are a comin'!!

Bad news, be warned, we did not go to Cove Cafe. Gasp! We aren't much of coffee drinkers so it never really appealed to us. I'm sure we should have gone in to see what else they had but we were loving the soda station :goodvibes

Next installment hopefully soon. I love reliving my cruise through this trip report! :sunny:

P.S. Chamber of Secrets was on this weekend and I watched it twice!!

P.P.S I can't wait to hear how that trip goes in October! I went to F&WF last October and it was a lot of fun. Not nearly enough wine drinking though!

Saturday April 8, 2006---Castaway Cay, Bahamas

My birthday didnít start off exactly the way I planned. Why you ask? Because Dan kept me up all night from his snoring. I had to roll him over and/or nudge him so many times. Sheesh! Canít a girl get some sleep on her birthday?? I wanted to be at Serenity Bay early because I had read that there are only a handful of hammocks there. Of course it being my birthday, I planned in laying in one and drinking the whole day :sunny: .

We set our TV alarm again for 8am and we were dressed, sunscreen lathered up and on solid ground by 9:30am. It wasnít the picturesque day I had hoped either. Quite cloudy this morning.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp339%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D323366596475%3Bnu0mrj

I couldnít believe I was here though! I was so excited to see this island. This was the thing I was looking forward to the most.

We took the tram over after getting our picture taken on the dock with the Wonder as our backdrop. Yeah right, Iím buying that one too ;)
Ok, which way to Serenity Bay???
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp344%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665938596nu0mrj

We took the tram over and there was only 3 other adults with us. Ok, so my odds are good that they arenít all going to be taking hammocks. We get off the tram and I take in the surroundings and a few photos before walking onto the beach.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp339%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D32336659385%3A5nu0mrj

Holy cow! The water is beautiful!! Look Dan a hammock, RUN!!! I throw off my sandals and power walk up to one of the hammocks. There was like no one here.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D32336659385%3B3nu0mrj
This is perfect! Not only that, the clouds are starting to burn off as the sun warms up. Paradise!

I throw myself on the hammock and just relax and enjoy the view.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665964777nu0mrj

Itís about 10:30am at this point when the drink lady starts walking around. Sweet! They are serving alcohol early! Iíve read all about this Kronk Kooler on the DISboards so of course I had to order one and since it was my birthday, I splurge for the souvenir cup as well. Can a birthday get any better than this?!?

As I lay and relax Dan heads out to check out the water. I watch him searching around the water for sea creatures. He calls me over to show me this starfish he found. Itís huge! He pulls it up from the water for a second so I can see it and when he puts it back in the water we watch how fast it scurries across the ocean floor. We walk along the water to look for more sea life when we see this little fish about 4-5 inches long just swimming around us. I start to get a little scare when he gets too close (Dan said he looked like a barracuda thatís why I got scaredÖthanks Dan!) So Dan distracts the fish so he stays around him. No joke, this fish just swam in and out of Danís legs. It was so cute! We named him Shadow since he liked to follow Dan. We were watching Shadow for a bit and we see this woman book it up the beach. She thought that our hammock was open and she went running after it! It was kinda funny since I would have done the same. She didnít throw my stuff off (she would have had me running after her if she did) which was good. Shortly after, I head back up and relax.

Dan came back to dry off and we are getting hungry so we decide its time for lunch. Plus, the beach is getting pretty crowded anyways. We pack up our stuff and head over to Castaway Cay Air Bar-B-Q. Itís a little before noon so there arenít many people there either. We load up on hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and enjoy the sun.

I want to see the rest of the island so we decide to hop back on the tram over to the other side of the island. We walk by the Boating Harbor and Dan wants to check out how much to rent a jet ski. $165 for 45 minutes holy moly! Skip it. I really wanted to do the water trike but Dan was a little nervous because it was really windy out and he didnít want them to topple over so instead we opt for the 2-person paddle boat ($8 for a Ĺ hr, much more our style).
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp33%3B%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665938598nu0mrj

We thought this was going to be difficult since neither of us is in peak physical condition but it really wasnít too bad. The water was so blue that it looked like we were only out to 2-3í deep waters but Iím sure it was deeper than that.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp339%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D323366596%3A72%3Bnu0mrj

Ok now I need to shop! I need to get a postcard (duh) and make sure I send one to myself from the Castaway Cay post office (which btw, I just got today, 2.5 weeks later). Since we canít really lie on the beach with all our new purchases, we head back to the ship to drop it off. As we are there, I take a few pictures from decks and we are back on our way out.

We walk all the way to the end of the island where the Heads Up bar is. There was no one drinking there! The view across the water was priceless.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp342%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3B53nu0mrj

We enjoy this for a bit and then head over to the Sports Beach where we scoped out 2 chairs already at the waters edge and no one around them. The shore was wicked rocky here so we decide to move to the Family Beach. There were 2 chairs here as well so we sat and enjoyed watching these 3 little girls playing around us. I wanted to swim a bit so I left Dan and enjoyed floating around for a while.

Itís about 4pm at this point and we wanted to beat the rush back on the boat so we left. We headed up to deck 9 to get a snack at Plutoís. We got some French fries to share and we noticed that we started to debark from Castaway Cay. I look down from the window and there are the cast members waving good bye.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665962%3B68nu0mrj
I bid them farewell and we run up to the back of the boat to give Castaway one good look as we depart. So sad!!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665964789nu0mrj
Boy do I miss that island.

We stopped by Shutters on are way to our room and we see that the professional photo we took in front of the Wonder backdrop is there and so is that horrible one we took when we got off the boat this morning. Yuck. So what do I do? I take a picture of that one with my digital camera when no one was looking and we end up buying the professional one and our Pirate night one. Do you really think I'd post it here?! :rotfl2:

Showered and dressed for dinner we head up to watch ďDisney DreamsĒ in the Walt Disney Theater. Jacqui, our cruise director reminded us that we missed her informational talk on disembarkment for tomorrow but she does mention that it will be shown on the stateroom TVs all night. Darn. Letís hope that our tablemates saw it and can fill us in at dinner.

ďDisney DreamsĒ was ruined for me because there was a gentleman (and I use that term loosely) behind us translating the whole show to his son in Italian. What?! Yes, Iím not joking. And it wasnít like he was whispering either. Full out loud translation. Thanks a lot, jerk. If anyone would like a transcript of the show in Italian, please PM me.

Ok back to the show. I can see how it was award winning as Jacqui had introduced it as. Very great. Too bad I missed most of the dialog (ok so I am bitter. Sue me).

We read that the final installment of Bingo was tonight in Wavebands so we ran from the theater down to deck 3. The grand prize was $1500 of course we were going to try to play! We purchase our cards and take a seat in front of Melanie, our caller for the night.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp342%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3B78nu0mrj
She was from South Africa and so much fun. Another couple sat in with us and they were kinda annoying so Iím not going to mention their names :rolleyes1 but apparently everyone here had played bingo every night this week because they all had these inside jokes. Every time Melanie picked a number that someone had theyíd yell, ďoh baby!Ē and if they didnít get the number theyíd say ďcome on Melanie!Ē This was for EVERY, SINGLE, NUMBER CALLED!! For 5 games straight this went on. Yeah, I couldnít drink enough of the drink of the day which was the Sting Ray. Talk about yumm-o. This had Captain Morgan, Midori, cranberry juice and pineapple juice. Sooooooooooo good! I need to start making them from home! Needless to say, we didnít win anything and we were a little late for dinner.

Dinner tonight was Tritonís. Our last dinner. Just thinking of this made me sad as we walked up. Our table family was already there and already ordered! No appetizers for us tonight just entrees. Dan and I both had the 4 cheese rigatoni.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3B7%3Anu0mrj

http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp343%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3B89nu0mrj
and Dan had an ice cream sundae.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346925753%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3B8%3Bnu0mrj

We handed our servers their tip envelopes and thanked them multiple times for the great service that they provided us the last 3 days. It was wonderful (no pun intended this time). Pictures were taken with us and our servers and our awesome tablemates. We gave them our email addresses to keep in touch (we havenít heard from them yet :sad1: ) . Chat let us know that our breakfast would be at Tritons the next morning before we disembark. He was excited to be leaving the ship because he had an early flight back home to Thailand. I asked Tina if she made it to the disembarkment talk and she said no (díoh!). Itís after 10p at this point and we donít have anything packed so we miss the ďTill We Meet AgainĒ show and head back to our room.

I immediately turn on the TV to listen to what Jacqui has to say as we start packing. She mentions these luggage tags and immigration forms that should have been left in our room by our host. Dan and I frantically look around and NO TAGS OR FORMS! Dan calls up to guest services and they promptly send some down. I sit down and listen to Jacqui as she explains how to fill them out. We are rushing around so of course I filled them out wrong the first time. Dan had to run up to get us some more. Finally at about 10:55pm, our luggage is outside our stateroom door. Whew!! Donít worry, in all that panic I did make sure to leave out an outfit for the next day :thumbsup2 . We hop into bed and watch ďGoblet of FireĒÖ..again.

Sunday April 9, 2006---Polynesian

Ok so I said that the saddest part was walking to dinner the last time. Not true. The saddest part of a Disney Cruise is having to leave the ship that last day.

We were up at 7am because we had to be out of our stateroom at 8am and our breakfast was scheduled to be at Tritonís (last restaurant visited for everyone). We walked out of our room at just about 8am on the dot because we wanted to spend every second that we could. With our carry-ons packed, we closed the door to room 7627 for the last time.

Down to deck 3 we headed to Tritonís. The worst part about this is the fact that Tritonís is located right outside the main atrium where people are leaving the ship.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994455%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D323366596969%3Anu0mrj
Some peopleís faces were just so down and I even saw some crying. We stood in line to get into Tritonís because I believe our breakfast didnít start until 8:15am. I saw ScottishWee walk by so I ran up to her to say good-bye. Her kids were crying and she was also. I gave her a big hug, wished her a safe trip home and returned to Dan in line.

I wasnít that hungry so all I wanted was a muffin but Chat decided that I wanted one of each and brought me out a plate of 5. Dan ordered cereal. Our tablemates were just as sad as we were. Chat was the only one of us that was excited about leaving. He was catching a plane that morning to go back home to Thailand for a few months to be with his 2 children.

We finished breakfast and proceeded to head out. We gave our friends hugs and hoped to hear from them (we still havenít :sad1: ) and out to the DCL terminal to find our luggage. Of course, itís Disney and they make it as easy as possible. Since we had red luggage tags we put on the night before all we had to do was find the red section (they are all labeled on giant columns) and we had our bags! It does help that I have this huge purple luggage!

We head out the door to our Magical Express to the Polynesian. Only one other family and two adult women were on our bus. It took like 15 minutes for some reason for the bus driver to stop chit-chatting with the other cast members outside the bus so during this time I turned my cell phone on to find 4 voicemails from my family and friends wishing me a :bday: from the day before. How nice!! I gave my family a call before they headed to church to let them know I was back on dry ground.

Bye ship!!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994455%7Ffp33%3A%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665962%3A5%3Cnu0mrj
Finally, we take off to WDW. They showed cartoons as we made our journey. One of the ones shown was the Donald Duck cartoon where he has this hollowed out stump in his yard that a swarm of bees has inhabited. Do you remember this one? He dresses up like a bee to get past the bee guard to get some honey. Ahh cartoons. So great.

Now Iím very glad we chose to do it this way. Itís like ending one vacation and beginning another! We dropped off the first family at the Port Orleans resort and we were next to the Poly. So exciting.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994453%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665974824nu0mrj
We checked in and left our luggage so we could tour the resort. Now I have to say this. I wasnít so impressed with the Polynesian. It might have been because I was just on a Disney cruise but the 2 worlds are completely different. The cast members at the Poly were not nearly as friendly as the ones on the Wonder and it wasnít very clean. In my opinion, not worth the price for a deluxe resort. Now don't get me wrong, the grounds were beautiful.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994453%7Ffp33%3B%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWS NRCG%3D3233665974833nu0mrj
I just wasn't impressed.

Anywho, our room was now ready. We were located in the Rapa Nui building which was one of the renovated ones which Iím so glad about because at this point if I had one of the older ones, my opinion would have probably dropped even more. Nice room with a new flat screen TV!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994453%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665974837nu0mrj
Woohoo!!! Since we only had plans to resort hop and enjoy the amount of money we spent on this resort, that TV was going to come in handy. We called the porter for our luggage to be delivered and within 2 minutes, there was a knock at the door. Dan got up to get it and he comes back with this gift basket.

Itís a birthday gift from Kimberly815!! Aww how great!! I immediately call her to thank her and let her know it came. Man they were quick! Our luggage came shortly after and we unpacked and were on our way to resort hop via the monorail.

We first head over to the Grand Floridian. Holy cow is this place amazing!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994453%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3A77nu0mrj
I bet itís worth the money to stay there! Just a breathtaking lobby they have and I fell in love with the chandelier! Danís feet were hurting at this point so we decide to press on. He was having a difficult time walking around so we head back on the monorail (of course after hitting the gift shops!) to make our way to the Contemporary resort. Donna was working the monorail and she sees Danís feet. She gave us the idea of putting our bottle of aloe in a bucket of ice when we get back to the hotel. The monorail arrived and she told us to follow her. She led us to the front to ride with the driver!! We stepped in and there were two older women that followed and sat with us. He gave us our co-pilots license. We all took pictures and we were off. Now weíve sat in front before but it was at night. Itís a lot better during the day!

We get off at the Contemporary and man, this place hasnít been updated in quite a while. It just screamed late Ď80s, early Ď90s dťcor!
http://images1.snapfish.com/346994453%7Ffp339%3Enu%3D3265%3E257%3E8%3A5%3EWSNR CG%3D3233665962%3A84nu0mrj
We walked around the lobby and made our way to the gift shops so I could get some postcards and a pin. We werenít there very long as there wasnít that much to look at and we headed back to the Poly.

In our room, we turned on the TV and guess what cartoon was playing? Yup, the Donald Duck one again. He cracks me up! Danís blisters seemed to be getting worse so we let them air out and put some aloe on them before heading to Downtown Disney for dinner.

Our plan was to eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich and then just do some browsing. I wanted to see what the big hoopla was about with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We take the fabulous Disney transportation bus over and make our way to Earl of Sandwich. I had the All American and Dan had the Hawaiian BBQ (sorry no pictures, we were too hungry!) I so wish there were some up here because that stuff is soooo good!!

Ok this place was ridiculously packed!! I couldnít believe it!! I got stepped on twice and we had to squeeze into the World of Disney store. I donít think so! We were so deathly worried that some one was going to step on Danís feet so we decide itís a good idea to head back.

We lounged in the room for a while until about 8:45 and headed down to the beach so we could watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes! We ended up being on the WRONG side of the beach for the beginning of the Water Pageant (oops!) when we heard the music we ran to the other side. After that, we planted our butts on some lounge chairs on the beach to listen to SpectroMagic and Wishes! Now my plan involved Dan and I, sitting together, listening to the Spectro and Wishes! music on my iPod. Yeah remember how my battery died before I got off the plane? So that didnít happen. But I tried to sing as much as I could. I thought that they were going to pump the music out to the beach but they didnít. Only inside the buildings. I was a little disappointed.

Back to our room we check out Danís blisters. They have now doubled in size! Eww is right. We flipped on the TV to find something good to watch. This was another thing I was disappointed about. No good channels! They didnít even have like a movie channel. We had better choices on the cruise!! Oh well, ďThatís So RavenĒ it is Dan. Good night.

Thanks for the kind words Deborah! :goodvibes

For the Polynesian, yeah it was expensive but thankfully it was only 3 nights that we stayed there. I couldn't afford any more than that! I'm glad I got to experience it but I probably won't stay there again (unless its free! :rotfl2: )

I'm glad to hear your son had such a great time, as did we. I can't wait to go on another one and next time, it will definately have to be a 7 night. The 3 night is just way too short! :cool1:

I can't wait to read your trip report. I'll have to keep checking to see when you've posted! :hourglass

If you think it's sad leaving the ship after three nights just wait until you have to leave after seven. :teeth:

So sad....so very very sad...and the weight of that onboard bill with all its alcohol, mochaccinos, and spa treatments... oh woe for all of us!!

It's been a rough couple of weeks...I could do with a 7-night Eastern right about now...couldn't you??

BTW - that birthday basket was too cute! Do you know if it's available through Disney or was it a custom order?

Thanks for sharing your tale with us!

HI Jennifer48....

I am new to the 'cruise forum', but was wondering around looking for information about the 3 day cruise......and look what I find, a neighbor :wave2: who just experienced her first Disney cruise......perfect. Love all of your information. I am thinking of booking one for Nov. 06 for myself, DD6 and DD3. We always head to WDW in November anyway, but this time I thought I might add on the cruise to 'change things up a bit' for all of us. My concern is what category to book. I was thinking about a room with a porthole (cat 8 or cat 9), but my biggest concern is what deck I am on. I don't want to be on a low deck with two sick kids and myself, to boot. You had an inside room? Not too bad?

AGain thanks for all the information and pictures. Glad you had a WICKED good time. :teeth:

Thanks for reading my trip report Pamela and welcome to the DIS! We had an awesome time and I would absolutely recommend it for anyone.

About your deck concerns, the lower you are to the bottom of the ship, the less movement you'll feel. If you are worried about the rocking, I'd say go low. We were in a category 11 and up on deck 7 which I was surprised at. With the inside stateroom, we could still feel some rocking but not a lot. It helped put me to sleep some nights! The only thing I didn't like about the inside stateroom was not having a window so you had no concept of time.

Hope this help some and if you have any more questions, feel free to holla! :goodvibes

I do! (Since I was the one who sent it! ;) ) It was from the WDW Florist (disneyflorist.com I think). It was the same treats that are in the Happy Surprise Cake, but put into one of the Mickey Mouse Shaped baskets instead of shaped like a cake (because I knew Jennifer48 would bring it home and make good use of it!) They had a little trouble understanding what I meant, but they got it just right!

Great Trip Report! I might lift a couple of your pictures! My camera picked our vacation to malfunction, so every picture I zoomed in on is fuzzy! I didn't even thing to take a pic of the Pirate Museum, my dd7 didn't like Nassau much. I really got a kick out of the pirate at the museum though, told dd he would use her hair to make a rope!
Like she wasn't freeking out already! :rotfl2:

Our table mate had a birthday too and that cake (tasted more like jello) was awesome. Great pic.

Oh, I think you had the same server we had Kaitt from Thailand. Our asst server was kim from Holland.

Just wanted to add. When we were on the Wonder on 3/2 cruise, Kaitt said that his wife was around 5 months pregnant. He said that his 6 months was coming up and he would be off 2 months. I kidded with my tablemates that we could figure out what he did on his last 2 months off. I really liked him and Kim. Even though he taught my dd some napkin tricks!

Jennifer, do you have another picture of the basket your friend sent you for your birthday?

She was very kind and replied to my post about where and how she ordered it but I was hoping you might have another shot of it that I could take a look at...we will be celebrating more than one birthday at WDW this October and it looks like such a cute gift idea.

Thanks for your help!

Brenda,

I have a picture of the front of the basket that you saw, and here is one of the back...

The only things that you don't see are the sweettarts and jelly beans from Goofy's Candy Company. There are the chocolate coins in the front along with Gihradelli chocolate bars, Mickey's sugar free chocolate bars, and some caramel bars. Then the bag of sweettarts and a bag of jelly beans, and in the back are Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels in those Chip and Dale Snack company bags.

Hope that helps some! It was all so yummy! :goodvibes

Opps. Was just giving you a compliment! Anyways it wouldn't be the same as taking the pictures myself. So rest assured that I won't be lifting them.

Pehaps, they were different servers. I made an effort to check the servers name tags so I could spell their names correctly on the tip envelopes. Now as for the head server, I never could figure out which of the 3 guys standing at the door was him. :confused3
My tablemate and I gave Kaitt the envelopes for him. Our server pronounced his name like cat.

After I read what you said about your server Kaitt, it all sounds very similar to our server Chat. I spoke to Dan and that is definately what it said on his name tag because we both thought it was a strange first name. I have a feeling its the same person but why he used two different names remains a mystery! :confused3

One thing I forgot to add. We took many walks around the ship and we did not see one, single door sign. We didn't make any either but there were none! I know that ScottishWee family made one but we didn't make it down to her deck but she was saying she didn't see any either. Must be a Wonder thing, like how no one dresses up for Pirate Night, no one makes door signs either! Guess I'll just have to book a Magic cruise so I can experience both! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Hello neighbor :wave2:
Thanx so much for the GREAT trip report. My DS7 and I will be sailing the Wonder 5/25-28 now I know what to look for. The pics were awesome. I will be having some of the same dinners as you as they looked so yummy.

This will be my first cruise also so I was nervous as to what to expect. I booked AS... garden but maybe I will just see the sites as U did. My DS will probably want to stay in the OL anyway.

I am also a redhead so I was not looking forward to CC but if I put enough sunscreen on and a hat maybe it wont be to bad. I burn and peel, no tan.

Thanx again I hope my trip report is half as good as yours.

Thanks for taking the time to write an awsome report on your Cruise, it was a great read. I love to hear from people who love WDW as much as I do:) Right now I'm trying to figure out whether to stay with WDW, add a Cruise or go to Disney Land next year and your report nearly has me sold. The 3 day sounds perfect for a couple but since "us" the 'couple' became "us" the 'family' 8 years ago we've had to modify our Mouse trips. I'm off to search for helpful family reports, wish me luck.

Hey Jennifer!

Book that 7-night western yet? We know some people from our last cruise who are going on the October 20, 2007 Western and now we are seriously considering going.

Of course, we're such dorks...we realized that if we include Orlando we'll be able to hit four Hard Rock Cafes on that one cruise and we'll be ever-so-close to getting our 10-visit HRC pin collector special guitar pin. Why, we'd be stupid not to go again! :lmao:

You should come along - plenty of mochaccinos to go around! :thumbsup2

D'OH!

I'd actually prefer the Eastern itinerary, but no HRC on that one so if we have to find a reason to justify sailing with the mouse again it looks like we gotta go West. ;)

We missed Grand Cayman on our Western anyway, so it would be like a new cruise.

If you guys go East you will love it!

Actually we're using the HRC thing as our "excuse" to do another disney cruise ;) We've been looking at other cruise alternatives but we're just not seeing anything that jumps out at us enough to take the plunge on.

So, we thought we'd give it another go while we're young.
