If you answered no you need to!!! It is a hilarious story about a nutty time traveling alien (who looks human, but has lived forever!) and his human friend Rose Tyler who travel time, vacationing in history!!

I like the show, it is a great filler before the Stargates come out in the summer. I liked last night's episode (snaps fingers) :rotfl2:

Btw, prince, love the sig, Window of Oppurtunity is probably one of my most favorite episodes. " So did you ever think about doing things you wouldn't normally do?" Then Jack grins at Carter. That is gold that I miss without RDA anymore.

I never liked the old series, but when the new series came out last year I was hooked on it!

Loved both yesterdays and last week's episodes, both very good!

i liked yesterdays episode with the part where rose has a bet with the doctor to see if she can get queen victoria to say "we are not amused" (although it was about a werewolf)

and last weeks episode was funny too :)

can't wait for next weeks since i have no idea what it's about (except some people from the old series are back whom i don't remember)

So i've been hearing lots of good stuff from the show...just some questions...

What's it about? When is it on?
I'd love to get addicted to another show since most of mine are ending. :)

I watched the last episode about the girl saving her father and stuff. Pretty good show, you're right.

I watched the last episode about the girl saving her father and stuff. Pretty good show, you're right.

Was that "Father's Day" per chance? I liked that episode; shows the downsides to messing with time travel. In episode 5, there is a short moment where you can see Rose's dad apparantly; mainly due to them travelling to a parrell universe.

Glad the Americans are catching up. I am so syked for the new series! It's all I talk about at school; I am such a big Dr. Who Freak. Not such a old series fan, but I am watching some old tapes with my older brother. "Tomb of the Cybermen" may have poor effects, bad taping and is in Black and white, but it's good watching. Then again, it does display the level of Sexism/lack of Black people's Rights in 1960.

I know I say this every week, but I can't wait till the next episode. :teeth:

To answer your Q Riku, it is on at 9/8 Central on the Sci Fi Channel, and the next episode is on Friday the 5th of May. It's a 2 parter, starting with "the lonely child". If you are going to watch, I recommend that you watch it behind the sofa; it's scary! I am 17, and I still think it's freaky.. :scared:

"Are you my mummy?" are probably the scarest words ever said.... Weird huh?

The show itself is based on the adventures of "The Doctor", who is a Time Lord, a race of people who go around time travelling making sure everything's OK in the world. Although, the Doctor is more likely to be a tourist who steps in if things go wrong.. Mostly to do with Aliens trying to take over the world.

The DVD comes out to America on July 4th, so if you missed some of the series you can buy the DVD laters. Let's hope that SciFi haven't meddled too much with that as well; apparantly they have edited some of the episodes so that an extra trailer or two can be put in, and plus are calling it a "SciFi original program", even though they had NOTHING to do with the production of it! How rude!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am a bit of a Who fan. I know a lot about the new, nothing of the old. If I wanted to, I could easily look it up on the net. :)

How could you NOT remember them! I mean, it's Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 for Pete's sake! OK, you may not of heard of Sarah Jane, but everyone has to have heard of K-9, the lovable Robo-dog! He may have an annoying voice, but he's cool! :teeth:

i liked this weeks episode because they blew up a school :) (and it looked like my friends school from he outside but wasn't) and had Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 come back yay :) (white because it shows what happens at the end of the episode) and those things were creepy

another thing has anyone been on the doctor who site because you can watch these little parts called tardisodes which show what's going to happen at the beginning of the episode (though it's not the real beginning just shows why they go there i think...) and i like playing the games which is on help mickey if you want to play the 3 new games (which are cool because they relate to the epsiode just shown or kinda do)

really i don't know what i'm talking about up there so just go to www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho

Yep that was the one. It was cool. But, come on...how could Rose not know that saving her father would mess time! Has she not seen Back to the Future?

Yeah I think all 'Gate fans miss RDA but at least the show still has Daniel, Carter, and Teal'c. But window of opportunity is the funniest episode, the part where they are playing golf in the Gate Room is hilarious!!!

yesterdays episode (girl in the fireplace) was good i couldn't get to sleep after watching that because i could hear my clock ticking (there were clockwork monsters which were attacking in 18th century france and they sound like a clock)

I know, the other scary part was when the old man got the gas mask bug who wants their mummy. And they just had to end the episode right when that little girl was at her "mummy".I was sooo bummed.

i just thought it was good, the time it was set, the climax place, the main villain, oh and the game on the bbc site for it was good as well...

I liked the episode too. It was not only the first episode where I haven't had that much footage ruined for me already, but the game online wasn't bugged! Woo!

I still think David T's "Shouty" Doctor Mode is scary. :scared1:

Yep, bumping up a pretty old thread but I saw the season finale of Dr. Who and was sooo moved by it! Anyone else catch it?

I also hear its coming back to the UK on Christmas day! Lucky!

I am a total Doctor Who Fan but I am an old person - I have seen all the doctors and like both old and new. The series began on the day President John F. Kennedy was shot in the United States, so there was some concern about the audience. The "old" episodes were shown in a serial format, like a soap opera- more disjointed than the new ones. They were in 30 minute episodes and of course the early ones were black and white.
The new series is very exciting and fun with all the humor and cleverness of the original series, but more sophisticated special effects. The "robot dog" that Pokemon talks about is in my signature on the left - that is the new K-9. Also my VMK and DIS name, Peri, is from one of the doctor's companions many years ago!
