I think they may go back up pretty quickly if the travel credit bill passes Congress. My DD and I were discussing today about making tentative reservations now just in case the bill passes. Christmas in Orlando is always great! The $99 rate at Hard Rock sounds great!

Just a heads-up for SBClifton, we're staying at the HRH Dec 26+27. I made those ressies back in early summer, and had to go through hoteldiscounts.com because Universal had a four day minimum stay between Xmas-New Years at HRH. Now maybe with everything that's going on in the world they'll have had cancellations, but I'd call quick! Good luck!

Now that the Pop Century has been delayed yet again. I think it will be awhile before they do away with the discounts. Sounds to me they have to many unfilled rooms.

IMHO, we will not see the volume of discounts in 2002 that we have seen in 2001. I believe Disney has done some cost/benefit analysis and decided it is better to temporarily decrease the supply of hotel rooms and keep prices more stable. Articles in the Orlando Sentinel have announced the delay in opening Pop Century and also that Disney is closing entire sections of certain hotels. In this way, they save on labor costs and maintain profit margins until demand (for the higher prices) for on site hotels rooms picks up.
I think that the same thing is going to happen in the airline industry. Hope I am wrong.
JMHO. YMMV
