Ok, here are the ideas I batted around to StitchIsOurHero the other day...
I thought about hosting at least one of them (that is now another one of my addictions!).... wouldn't be due until August/Sept.. probably more like Sept. since most of us have kids to get ready to go back to school in August and vacations....but anyway,
My ideas were to have a swap for all the parks... for the Meet and Greets..
Diamond Horseshoe, Camp Mickey and Minnie, Judge's Tent, the other tent in Toontown (can't think of it off the top of my head).. the one in Epcot (I didn't even know about it til the other day.. We meet all our characters up front where the dividers are before Mission Space).. I'm sure a loser for missing those greets.. :(
Another idea (more from my kids) were to do the musicals.. Lion King, Pocahontas, for all 4 parks again...
What about a picnic theme? Zoo theme?
Do you think there would be any interest??? :confused3
Okay! Here are the ideas...
Meet and Greets: all 4 parks
Musicals: all 4 parks
Picnic
Zoo
Dining (general eating)
Weinie Swap...
Holiday/Disney Swap
Holiday: July 4th, Valentine's and the like
Hidden Mickeys
Season
Event Swap: Birthday/Mother's Day/Father's Day
Disney Events: Flower/Garden, MVMCP, etc
Disney's extinct but LOVED rides
Ribbon only swap
Card Swap
Grosgrain Ribbon Swap
Altered paperclips
Altered popcicle sticks
matchbooks

Hi Nancy! You know I'm in for the swaps! :thumbsup2 I would be willing to host one (you know I'm addicted to that, too! :sunny: )--like maybe one of us could host the character meet and greet and one could do the musicals?
Would anyone be interested? Or, if you're sick of us hosting (or me hosting for that matter) or if someone else wants to do it, that's ok, too! Swapping Addicts Unite! :lmao:

I'd be happy to take one.. or you take one.. or someone else volunteer.. They may be sick of us and just not telling us.. I sure hope not...
I'm so into this swapping stuff.. It's a major stress reliever for me.. MY kids have no volunteered to help me load the car with my scrapbooking supplies to keep me occupied.. or they'll ask.. so where are we going.. JoAnn's or Michaels? LOL

How about a dining swap. Not restaurant specific, just things that would work for all eating (DH's idea).
We could also do a weinie swap. OKAY - that is NOT dirty. Walt called the central focal point in each park a weinie (he might have been just a little nuts... ;) ). Anyway, we could do four groups, with each group doing the weinie for each park - the Castle, the Tree of Life, the the Epcot Ball, and the Hat.
I would be willing to try hosting if we are talking August or September...I will have a couple of these under my belt by then.

I know what you mean about a stress reliever! Now that I'm not coaching, it gives me something exciting to focus on--plus it's "me" time! :thumbsup2
Of course they're not sick of us, though--we're cool people! :rotfl2:
ETA: KAMommy, our posts ran over the top of each other. . .eerily similar to the way we talk! :lmao: I like the dining idea, too! So many swap ideas, so little time! :teeth:

Ooh! I like the holiday-related Disney stuff, too! I have toyed with the idea of using "Disney" stuff (characters, etc.) to decorate our family album (not a vacation one), and the holiday stuff would work well!
These are all such great ideas! :cool1:

I love the holiday idea.
I am going (I hope) to the MNSSHP this year - how about Halloween stuff, Disney or not?

My family album is sooooo far behind.
I prefer the swaps where you make three elements because then you can have a completed page.
My ideas
Holiday
season themes (Winter - skiing, sledding, snow days etc)

I'd love to try hosting one once I get moved this summer.
Now for ideas. I was thinking of one that was Disney related but that one thing you always seem to need something for but its not really a swap by itslef item. Hmm when I was thinking that in my head it made alot of sense. Does everyone know what I mean? Im sure that if you are needing items for it then others probably are too. One example would be Hidden Mickeys (the people in my CJ know that I have a new found interest in these) or possible a certain floral area or something that you always take pictures of.
I also love the Holiday at Disney or general Holiday themes.

How about a swap that includes various Events such as the Flower and Garden Show, the Food and Wine event in the fall, etc...........that could also include the MNSSHP, etc.
I would also love to do a holiday swap......I've got tons of WDW holidays photos including all the Epcot Storytellers, resort decorations, park holiday events, and all the park decorations.
I would also love to do a resort swap. Even though I haven't stayed at all the resorts, I've photographed them all and would love to include them in albums.

I'd go for this one. I hope to one day stay at them all and this would give me something to work for.

I loved the color swap that just ended. The pieces were generic but absolutely beautiful. I could very easily dress up any of the pieces for a specific theme by adding a bit to the embellishments. I'd love ot see another of those.
How about the seasons? We all have pictures that go with them, and they can be Disney or non-disney pictures.
On the Disney theme, it's been a bit since there was a character swap, hasn't it? Or did I just miss that one? :confused3:
I've also really, really enjoyed the embellishment swaps. SOOOO many people signed up for the last one, I can't begin to imagine how Twingle3 is managing to keep organized on that one. The swap just got larger and larger.

You did just miss one. Real Mickey's Girl is hosting one due in May. I really loved that one and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I like a lot of the ideas above, and I'd definitely be up for hosting as well. It sounds like we have enough ideas there to keep us working on swaps for a long time to come. I like how it's set up now - the swaps so far have pretty much been a month apart. I wouldn't want to see too many stack up at once and make me choose between them. I want to be able to do them all!

I like the early sign ups that give you a chance to really work on your ideas and not be rushed to get them done...
I've got a cool idea for my frontierland journal boxes and I can't get my new sizzix dies here quick enough to test them out... Hello? Could someone rush the UPS man here with my goodies???

We had also discussed having a swap on "other disney" such as downtown disney, disneyquest, blizzard beach, typhoon lagoon, mini golf, fort wilderness, etc.
Is anyone still interested in that? Not sure how to divvy it up yet.
I would like to see another card swap and seasonal swaps like we have done before and event swaps such as mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, etc.
How about a ribbon only swap?
I would gladly hostess again--as soon as school is out! :cool1:

The "other Disney" would be great!!! Maybe we could give a list of requests and each person chose from that (similiar to the land).. or maybe a group for each thing..and you'd only get that group.. Like Blizzard Beach..all those who wanted in that group would chose and element... We've only done Downtown Disney... off to add more to my list for our next vacation!!!!

I meant to add these to my list above:
I'd love to do a Dining swap, too,.........I missed the one that was just done.
Being a veteran Disney nut, I'd LOVE to do an "extinct" or retired Disney attraction swap (using attractions such as World of Motion, Horizons, the Old World of Imagination, Skyway tram from MK, 20,00 Leagues, Mr. Toad's Wild Adventure, etc, etc). I've got so many photos for those attractions...........don't know if I'm the only one, but........... :listen:

Now if we could do a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride swap my DH would be in heaven. He loved that ride at WDW, but that ride also does get me to DL every 5-7 years!!!!

Love the seasons, Disney Holidays, and retired attractions. You could also do a calendar swap, 12 people in a group making 2 elements for each month. This could coordinate with the holiday and/or season swaps.
Bit of advice, if I did another land swap I would switch it to be each group would be a land the you pick your element.
Example - Adventure land (written by hostess) BernardandMissBianca (filled in by swapper) library tags( filled in by swapper)
This way we don't have 5 adventureland elements in one group and no fantasylands. Ya know?!
I think it's time to revisit the swaps calendar for an update. We could put the ideas down there and as people volunteer to host or come up with ideas someone could put it down after seeing if there is interest.
Example:
Retired attractions swap -
Hosted by XXX
sign up date Friday July 7 9:00am EST
due date August 25
This would be especially helpful for far off swaps like a Christmas/Kwanzaa/ Hanukkah swap.
Just thinking out loud and rambling. The voices in my head are loud today! :lmao:

too late for me to chime in? i don't have as much time for scrapping as i'd like; but i just got a major project under my belt for this year and won't have to be busy with next year's event for a few months and with summer, well i'd love to swap some during summer :) i can never seem to get in the cruise swaps in time, i'm still working on our last cruise and we are cruising again in a year. I loved the idea of the color swap too, i missed that one but i'd be game. i'm sooooo very far behind in my general family stuff that anything seasonal or event related i would be interested in -- and embelishment swaps i loved that goodie pack!
how about pets? we have two dogs and lots of doggie pictures -- my DD shows at AKC shows too but just general dog would be fun

Well, considering the fact that we spent almost three hours at a Pet Photographer's studio two days ago, my dogs would love to have more scrapbooking space and time for themselves........What a riot! I would love a pet swap. Maybe if we do, we could divide the groups into pet catagories since dog owners might not need any cat elements and vice versa..........and people with both cats and dogs or other animals could enter each group.

ok i'm still thinking about this pet swap too :) how about also swapping things for the pet you don't have? there has been times when I have passed up buying a sticker/embellishment sheet b/c it has both dogs and cats on it. if anyone else finds themselves in that position and wants the cats stuff, we could swap out our unused sections?
in my house we have dogs and hamsters and yes my children take pictures of the hammies too :teeth:

Okay, I would like to see some Disneyland specific swaps:
50th anniversary-I saw the Happiest Celebration, but I was too late, AND, I have two problems with it... I won't be able to get to WDW during the celebration, so I'd like it to be Disneyland specific, and I wasn't sure about the organization of it...how I would have worked that one. I've already been in one 50th anniversary swap, would like to be in another, I have an idea for gold painted slide mounts (and trust me, they look GOOD), OR, gold shaker boxes. I ran out of blue metallic paper to do mine in, though if I could find more, I would most certainly do shaker boxes. I got some really perfect stickers at DL for such a swap. So I'd prefer an element type swap for the 50th anniversary... I MIGHT be persuaded into hostessing, if I could cross post it to two Yahoo groups, Tracy Henry's Nutz4DisneySwapping, and Sue Benner and Michelle Figueria's DisneyDemocracy (oops, I hope I didn't just violate some TOS I forgot about!) As I'm pregnant, and due in Sept, hostessing swaps has NOT been a good thing for me as of late, so I've been refraining from it. However, if I were to keep the swap small, that would be fine, say 10 participants... if I could even get that many to sign up! The swap I'm in only had 8 signups. It's not back yet, we're waiting on one person to finish up her library pockets and tags. so I don't know how it'll all work into my book. The other thing I could do is a small kit swap, where you'd pick a theme or character (like I'd just pick a 50th anniversary theme, but you could pick Mickey, or Minnie, or Goofy,or the current fireworks etc.) and then make a kit to put either general 50th pics or photos of that 50th character in their 50th anniversay dress... I would think either way would work well... but the kits, as always, should be more "usuable" since they'd be designed to work as a 1 or 2 page layout. I'd keep it to groups of 5 at most, I would think... maybe a total of 2 or 3 groups (assuming I even had that much interest!) Or, as a final thought, a Bazzill swap, so everything would coordinate, but it'd still work as an element swap. I hate working with Bazzill, and I know some people feel it fades, but it DOES look lovely, and it does make sure everything coordinates. I have to run it through my wishblade 4 times though to get a complete cut, and that is annoying.
I manage to get to Disneyland a few times every year, but I only get to WDW once every 2-4 years, so I would just LOVE to have a DL only swap, with rides and attractions specific to Disneyland, like the above mentioned Mr Toad's wild ride, or the DL Tiki Room, or Indiana Jones, etc... so it could be VERY specific instead of having to be generally for that ride... like it could be Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters instead of having to be JUST Buzz Lightyear.
And I'm always up for a character swap... always. Ride swaps, too. My favorites are kit swaps and element swaps.
Well, that's all I have for now... sorry for being gone so long (if you want to see some of my work, it's under Shabree on 2peas.)

I love the idea of tours.................as long as it's due a looooonnnnnggg time from now. There are so many due this summer. I've done a lot of tours and the only places I wasn't able to take places was in the back stage areas, but all the tours also had a lot of exposure on stage as well.
