I was reading the travel section of the Toronto Star this morning and there was a comment made that Disney is planning some good deals for Canadians in the next few weeks. My mind went crazy - could it be disney park passes at par?! or cheap hotels? - the possibilities are endless.
So, if you are travelling to Disney in November or later, you might want to wait and see what happens.
Doesn't help me, though, we leave for Disney on the 22nd of Oct.
But I thought it might help some people out there,

Shelley

That would be great! We are going in January and we got a good AAA rate at ASMovies and have been waiting for any special deals for Canadians for tickets. We picked up our Snow White DVD yesterday at the Disney Store and I asked if they had heard anything but they hadn't yet.

Hi all, Hi Ruth! I'll bet you are looking forward to your trip! We shall have to meet afterwards for your report, maybe at RFC in NF again! I hope you have an amazing time! Sandra

Hi Sandra - good to hear from you, yes I am so psyched (as my 9year old son would say) for this upcoming trip. I haven't bought park tickets yet (planning on going over to the Walmart the day after we arrive) so I hope this rumour turns out to be true. I managed to save $18/night for our three nights at ASMO with the codes, and all my other plans are falling into place. Got Dollar car full size for $109/wk. I'm planning on taking a full duffel bag of food and snacks, but will be doing some groceries at Walmart, I will find your post on prices and add to it when I return. I look forward to sharing when we get home...Ruth

Hey Ruth, how are you doing? We leave October 25 and can hardly wait. I do hope everything goes smoothly, will keep my fingers crossed. Would like to see the at par deal come back for tickets, or maybe some nice discounts. We could really use them. Well, hope you have a good trip. Will come back and let you know how things went, Maryann

Hi Ruth, we are thinking about doing the same thing with tickets ~ going to Walmart. It's right around the corner from Kids Village were we stayed in 1998, so we can visit there, get tickets at Walmart, grocery shop and maybe even swing by Celebration on the way back! What tickets are you buying? I am thinking 7 day hopper plus. Chat soon! S

I just found the Toronto Star story dated October 13th, that states Disney will come out with some incentives for Canadian in about 3 weeks. We are arriving on the 27th of October and will be there until the 10th of November. We are trying to make up our minds whether to purchase our 7 Day Park Hopper's at the Disney Store or hope for a good deal.

I don't recall the Canadian deals in years past. If a special does come out, do we have to buy the tickets at a Disney Store in Canada, or can we buy them at WDW?

Also, the previous post mentioned buying the 7 Day Park Hoppers at WalMart in Orlando. What is the deal there?

Shakey2001: In the past the Canadian Disney tickets had to be purchased in Canada and could be purchased at the Disney Store, CAA or through some travel agents.

Sounds like the deals for Canadians will come out around the time I'm at Disney, too late for me.

I was also looking at 7-day Hopper Plus passes. Can't find my calculations right now, but I had worked out that it was cheaper to buy them here at a Cdn Disney store than to buy them in the US. Is there a special deal at the Wal-mart that I should consider?

(1) Walmart deal in Kissimmee: I read that you get a 5% discount.

(2) Canadian Deal: last year we got a "buy one get the second (equal) ticekt half price". That saved us hundreds $$$$$. These tickets were to expire May 6, 2000 but there is debate about that.

Hi Maryann- Sorry I missed your post the last time through - thank you for the good wishes for our trip and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful time also. Can't wait to hear all about it. My plans had a little glitch today - USAir changed our arrival to 2 hours later and took away our non-stop flight - UGH - will have to rush to make Chef Mickey's by 5:30:mad: Won't let anything spoil my excitement - I feel like a little kid again and truly can't wait to go:D

Hi guys

Please post anything of interest in regards to saving for Canadians. I am from small town Ontario, and some 1200 or more miles away from Toronto. So your paper is not available here. We leave at the end of next month....thanks a bunch

Check out Attraction tickets at Midwestern Ontario website:
http://www.aaa.com/scripts/WebObjects.dll/AAAOnline?association=caa&club=287

Nothing posted yet as to WDW but Universal at par available now, and Seaworld and Busch Gardens available at par on Nov 01.

They took my order (from Victoria BC) over the phone and used Express Post to get them here. Great service and pleasant people to deal with. They did require my CAA number.

When I used the link above, I saw in the information under attractions that there is AAA preferred parking at the parks. Does anyone know anything about this,or used it. I have actually not noticed signs or anything. Any info. would be great.
I don`t live in the area for this office, but the information on the website was very good.

Hi Krista's Mom. I have looked at that web page countless times and had never noticed the preferred parking statement. Thanks for pointing it out.

I have e-mailed them asking them to explain. When I get an answer I'll post it.

There have been many posts about AAA parking on the boards, If you do a search, you will find loads of info about it.

From what I have read, it is for people who book complete travel packages with AAA. They give you parking vouchers that enables you to park in the AAA section of the parking lots, which are super close to the park gates.

This is what I received from CAA ...

"If you show your membership card at the parking gate, you will be directed to parking closer to the parks in an exclusive AAA parking area. Also their is a discount of 1.00 off parking.

Thank you for your inquiry.

CAA Member Services Centre"

Anyone tried it?
