We have planned a trip to Disney-- our first. We have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. It is a little young for Disney, but it is the only place we all seem to want to go. We will go again in the next few years. With this, I couldn't decide between having more room with a suite downtown, to staying in a moderate Disney resort. With Mousesavers I did book the Doubletree (We leave June 28) and got the breakfast with suite for 159.
Should we stay in a Disney resort, or would you go for that with the price for the room? We will be renting a car.
Would love the feedback,
Beth

:scratchin You will probably get better help over
on the Disney Resort board here ---> http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12 or
Orlando Hotels board here ----> http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15
Good luck with your choice! It's never too young (well, maybe as a newborn) for Disney World! My kids were just under 5 and 3 their first trip. :) Have a magical time! :smickey:

For what it's worth, I've done both and have found that staying on property is much more enjoyable. It's a real bummer at the end of the day to have to leave and go back to some hotel. It really breaks the immersive feeling of the Disney experience. I guess it doesn't bother everyone but I'll never go back to off property accommodations.
And, um, in keeping with the photography theme make sure you bring a camera... :)

And check out the fireworks and camcorder sticky while you're at it :)
