Booking DLP - Package vs. Sep. Room & ticket purchase

Can't decide what to do .... I'm part of the group that will be bring the Disney Magic back home in Aug. of '07 - and will be going to DLP and then on to Barcelona by train. :cool1:

My problem is - do I rent points (DVC) from other people in our group that will include the tickets - or just by a package from DLP ? I will be spending a min. of three days in France - and want to do one day in Paris . Or get the room sep. and just by a two day parkhopper ? :confused3

Not sure how it works with DVC points but I recall others have said that DLP is not the best value for using DVC.
You'll be best to price each option up as sometimes the package is a cheaper option than seperate.

If you have a good idea of where you want to stay, then check the point requirements here (http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/common/blankPage?id=PointsChartParis07Page), and compare the cost of renting them with a package price from the official site (http://booking.disneylandparis.com/newdlp/jsp/cathotel.jsp?pays=US&compte=dlp9el14). Though it won't give you a price for Aug 07 yet, you can get a very good idea of what to expect by using this year's dates. :)

We looked at buying into DVC but as we mostly visit DLRP with only a plan to visit wdw every 4/5 years it is not worhwhile.
The points values for DLRP were very high have you loooked at paying for the cruise with points and saving your cash for Paris?
