Mosr rental counters try to hard-sell you an upgrade, I don't know of any that don't. When you get there, before they launch into their spill, just say something like "I'm so glad i booked through you guys, you were the only ones who had the size i want available - i wouldn't feel safe driving anything bigger..." and it will put them off a bit, maybe entirely!!!
It's on the arrivals level of MCO and then you walk over to the garage to choose your car.

Are you sure it's Alamo - we fly with Virgin but they use Dollar.
Whoever you rent with you will always get asked about upgrades, however if you politely refuse they are generally not very persistent.

So are you saying the car hire has been booked by the TA and not through Virgin??
The reason I say this is that Virgin have a seperate desk at Dollar and they are always very good never been hassled for an upgrade.

The Alamo desk is practically next to Dollar. The great thing about Alamo is you get to choose your own car from what's available in your class.
Incidentally, they tried to get me to upgrade to a Chrysler 300 Hemi, but I said "no thanks, I think I'll stick with the Cadillac!" ;)
When I got into the garage, I asked if they had any Hemis and the manager said no. I complained that the guy at the desk had tried to get me to upgrade to one, and why would he do that if there wasn't one available, and the manager just shrugged
