What are some good ways to celebrate an adult birthday at WDW? We will be staying in POP so I figure it will have to be elsewhere. Do you get a free piece of cake like many U.S. restaurants do, or a serenade from the wait staff, anything like that? What WDW restaurant (that falls under the dining plan - her birthday is in September!) would you recommend for a nice birthday dinner?

how much partying....

chef mickey's is a character meal - but they definitely do birthdays great - at the Contemporary.

I also enjoy Goofy's beach blast at the Cape May cafe in the Beach Club.

both are on the list.

more adults - maybe Le Cellier at Canada, or Concourse Steakhouse at the Cont, or Steakhouse at the Yacht club.

here the list

I wore my birthday button (available at Guest Services) and got a free sundae at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.

i was just down for my bday on sunday. i got a birthday pin at every park we went to. Le Cellier gave me a special chocolate mousse dessert...unfortunately I don't like chocolate, but it was a nice thought.

At Hoop Dee Doo they make everyone who has a birthday stand up and they come over to you with a microphone and they ask you where you're from and when youre birthday is and then they sing you all a song. Later they pick 3-4 people to be in the show and one of them is almost always one of the birthday people. I don't think you get anything free as you get all you can eat strawberry shortcake anyways. Almost all of the restaurants do something (as far as a dessert, we have been to a couple that charge you for a birthday dessert) although now that I think about it not many of them sing songs as I can't remember a single meal ever at Disney (besides character meals) that I heard singing.
