I was searching for reviews on the Wantilan Luau and I found this very old post - any feedback? I'm looking to go with my 12 year old son. Thanks

Thanks if you have any pictures then I would love to see them
OR if you have seen the show and you have any feedback then that would be great too. I have seen the Luau at the Poly a couple of times and I am wondering if it is as good.

Here's a couple of thread links from early last year where we discussed the luau:

This was the second RPR luau for my wife and I. The first one was several years ago and was on the RPR lawn at the time because the luau stage was being refurbished.

We did the second luau as a treat to my mom and dad. All four of us enjoyed it. But having watched it twice now, it'll be several years before going for the three-peat.

You're welcome!

And it's good that you've purchased your tickets! Three years ago, we waited until we checked into our hotel (HRH) to get tickets and they were sold out by then.

one more question
Now that I have my booking confirmation - I assumed that I could call and pre-arrange my seats (similar to the Luau at Disney). From what I was told on the phone the seating is not pre-arranged. Does this mean that I need to arrive early? I wish that the seating was pre-arranged because I did book early (our show is not until July 3rd 2011).
Thanks - I just want to verify that I was given correct information

We had to arrive early to check in for the luau. Afterwards, we headed over to Jake's American Bar and had drinks there while we waited. I suspect that the seating is partially pre-arrainged to maximize seating arraingements (each table holds 10 people - 4 per side with 1 on each end), but has flexibility based upon check in.

thanks for bringing up the threads for the newbies.

i haven't been to the luau since 2006.
not sure if much has changed since then.

the early bird catches the worm.
meaning, you can choose your seats the earlier you arrive.

i sat near the food tables.
i still had a good view of the show.

but, it has been some years since i last went to it.

Thanks, Mac! I've been so busy at work for the past month or so that I haven't had much time to visit the boards.
